Because you know a new DLC will probably show up--like gauntlets or something--and because said used character uses his fists in his musou or something people will want the new DLC weapon to go to him/her and once again the Nunchucks will be in limbo.
there already is a character that uses gauntlets in the DW series.

no i understood what you mean, i was just letting you know that using that as an example doesn't really work, since we have someone who uses gauntlets already.

But personally, i dont care what they do with the greaves. If they give them to Suo, i still want the Nunchaku to still be around for players to use. Give them to someone else, or make them generic weapons, i dont care; just let us the players continue to have access to them.

and if the greaves go to someone else, I'd be fine with that too.

Regardless of whoever gets the greaves, I feel unfortunate for them as it's a horrible moveset that'll only suit certain people's tastes. It's really anime like and awkward actually, it's a bit too fan-service for me, very poppy and generic... good for happy people.

I'd like to try them on Sun Quan, not because I think it would fit but because out of every character he most desperately needs updating. So many characters had that sword moveset in DW7.
DW7, if anything, made cloning worse and it is why we are still in a mess with "who uses what weapon" even though everyone is unique. Having weapon switch doesn't help either because every weapon has to be tailored to everyone in a "one size fits all"-ish system.

The flame sword is absolutely perfect for him, I hope he gets that. Much better than the greaves Phoenician :) .

Weapon switch is annoying, I wish they'd do what strikerdes said and make it so we have to equip their Ex and whatever weapon we want as well.

Ooh has it been confirmed the flame sword is Quan's? Perfect :D Really suits him too by the sound of it.

In all the screen he's been seen with it like with Suo and the greaves. It hasn't been confirmed as Quan''s but he's only using the Dao now which is shared with generics, makes sense to give him the flame sword in Empires :) .

heres what I think could happen. The flame sword will go to sun quan, and the greaves will go to suo.

the standard sword will become the generics official weapon, not used as an EX for a player character, but will still be available for use for player characters. Generics will lose the throwing knives, and gain the nunchaku instead.

if the twin fans come back, give them to Xiaoqiao, and apply the same status as the sword and nunchaku to the iron fan.

this is something I could live with. i wouldn't mind them becoming EX weapons for the generics, as long as we will still be able to use them.

Nunchaku aren't some bog-standard weapon that's easily understood, they're one of the most complex in the game hence why generics are left with dumb clubs, swords, spears and fanny fans. Oh and throwing knives too.

Seeing generics with Nunchaku would be ridiculous, I'd rather it be temporarily cut and given to a new character with a massive overhaul in time. Oh and I'd remove Guan Suo from my top 10 favorite characters instantly.

Throwing knives are much more complex than the nunchucks imo. Lack of flinching means they take more skill to use.

Okay...guys lets stop this discussion, the summary:

it is still 50:50 on this weapon goes to whom...personally for me Suo is more likable to choose this but as long as another MALE characters got it, it will be fine..as long as the design is good. The size of the weapon is not the one that causes the users must be big, it's cause of the weapon switch...remember how iron fan and chakram, and gloves got bigger? That's the reason

OKay lets move on to the emei piercers.. :D

I mean irl, not in game, I meant like it'd be weird seeing a bunch of strategists waving Nunchaku about because they're not exactly generalised ^_^ . Everybody can pick up a sword, spear, club, iron fan and throwing knives and wave them about, Nunchaku you cannot, highly likely you'll smack yourself in the face. Also, I've noticed the generics tend to deliberately have simpler weapons to fit with the Chinese feel unlike others. All their weapons are bog-standard acceptable weapons for the time.

An no kansakUMA <_< . Like it has been said repeatedly the weapons have been altered in size to fit the user now, sped up and some charge attacks have changed slightly. Going off appearance, either Koei added this weapon for funs or simply isn't for Suo.

I've not seen any videos of the Emei daggers yet, but I still imagine they'd go to either a female character or a more martial artsy man (lol another potential Guan Suo weapon). They appear to be quite dainty weapons so I can't see them on bigger guys like Meng Huo or Deng Ai.
I doubt they'd ditch the throwing knives for the Emei daggers, but for some reason I think they'd suit Wang Yuanji quite well.

Once again, they aren't boots, they are indeed greaves, they little have no back...which somewhat makes up for their size. You guys need to look at the videos and actually study the design of of the Greaves. Their even designed to latch on to one's feet. If you put them on a character like Deng Ai, I wouldn't be surprised if they get bigger.

Honestly, if they went to Suo, all of Suo EX and Musou's would need changing or tweaking. For one, his EX attack wouldn't work as he needs to be on ground to for the animation to look right, and his ground musou's go against the theme that Flying Kick Greaves seem to be going for.

They're technically not greaves either...but still that's what everyone calls them. Boots is what they are, Shoes if you don't like Boots, but they aren't technically Greaves. "metal shoes with no backs to them' is too long and probably won't fit in the dialogue box in the game. Sue us.

i guess Lil`Richard meant knuckleduster or something simliar (like triangle-blade Mulu has), don`t mind such thing. It seems very different from gauntlents Huo has. Huo gauntlets similar to one Fuuma wears.

I think (hope) that the emei daggers will go to Chen Gong, hence the backsstabbing theme, they'd be really nice.

Oh, so Guan Suo's Fairy Boots will be super effective against Zhao Yun's Dragon Spear no matter what their affinities are, eh? :hehe:
