Im just gonna call them fairy boots
Does that mean they're super effective against dragon-type weaponry? :P
Oh, so Guan Suo's Fairy Boots will be super effective against Zhao Yun's Dragon Spear no matter what their affinities are, eh? :hehe:
I'm sorry but that's a no. Zhao Yun and anything related to Zhao Yun is effectively invincible and can't be stopped, regardless of weakness.

Zhao Yun's portrayal in the franchise in relation to Liu Bei is like heaven to shippers.

It was even discussed here some time ago. I remember it being discussed in the DW7 threads.

Really? No one mentions the needle that killed Zhao Yun in the folklore? You could have had so much fun with that!

Anyway, I honestly just hope the Chucks get some new charge attacks, though kicking in the style would probably not use the Nunchaku themselves. This way Guan Suo can keep his awesome EX Attack.

@yunglex: Not really they can just move his ex attack to another charge attack for example the boots C1....which doesnt makes the users go airborne if they decided to put suo in those boots

They suck, badly <_< .

I like how the Nunchaku are anyhow, it seems logical to use them with kicks after all right?

They'd still have to tweak the animation so that C1 lead into it.

I haven't seen the DW8 Nunchaku moveset yet, but I loved the moveset that Ling Tong had in WO3, it was much more fun to play around with. If it got tweaked to be similar to that again it would be ok :)

Daqiao got her ex attack moved from c3(in empires) to C1 in DW8,i dont think that takes a lot of time...

There are no more signs that this weapon is for Suo anymore than the Screw Crossbow is for Deng Ai. Plus the weapon suits him in absolutely no way shape or form, I think basically a very few people just wanted the guy to put something on his feet, could have been a pair of slippers and people would have had it over the Nunchaku. Nunchuku is a fun weapon, suits him much better than those boots ever could.
How do the boots not fit Suo? The moveset looks amazing and fits his spunky personality perfectly, not to mention it complements all 3 of his musou attacks.

The only thing wrong with the boots is how bleh they look.

Edit: How do the greaves show less martial arts ability than the nunchaku? Just because they look retarded it doesn't say anything less of the quality of the moveset itself.
Martial arts is armed and unarmed combat, which both weapons perform and many (of not all) characters perform. It's not more or less.

I just don't want Guan Suo with the weapon because he's already decloned. No point in changing it again after everyone was complaining about cloned characters in the first place.

Gusn Suo probably won't get it anyways.

It is not so much an issue with Guan Suo, but even though there are no cloned characters, some characters still need a weapon update. This is mainly the characters who still use weapons that were NOT unique in DW7.

Sun Quan in particular, because that Dao was so used to death he desperately needs something new now which is why I really hope he gets that flame sword, it suits him perfectly too. Same could be said for Guan Ping, Xiaoqiao and nearly every other character still using weapons that were NOT unique before, including Suo. They need updates because they will still feel very cloned and generic almost as a legacy of DW7. I don't think they all need new weapons by any means, just the few who are still feeling a bit bland with tired movesets.

I'm pretty sure Da Qiao also got a completely new EX attack.

EDIT: Oh you mean from Empires. Still it's a different case. It's not that hard but tweaking needs to be done.

I'm saying they wouldn't do it. I'm just say there are reasons not, and that personally, I'd rather Guan Suo just have the Nunchaku.

Wait what?

There's a difference between Sun Quan, Xiao Qiao, and Guan Suo.

We might not even know if KOEI will give Sun Quan the Blaze Sword, but in case they do, there may be reasons to it. One them is that the Dao moveset is already used on the generics as well, except some significant attacks. Same with Xiao Qiao in case KOEI gives her the twin fans, though I admire what she has now because it looks more mature than her twin fans moveset.

Not one generic has the nunchuckus.

And giving Guan Suo the grieves is far from an update. More like an overhaul or a revamp.

Now another way you may be wording it seems like this: "Characters after the vanilla DW7 are getting DLC weapons that are causing more power", or as commonly spoken "more broken".

But....I'm debating too much. He might not even get the grieves as his ex weapon. If he does, my eyes will be rolling more than tires during a road trip from New York to California.

^It's not even about making them more powerful. Some characters just need to have their movesets updated (could even keep the same weapons with different moves) because after DW7 where often several characters used the same weapons, some of the movesets are already very stale after just one or two games.

And actually on the subject of Xiaoqiao, tbh I think they've done enough for her by downsize-ing the fan and making her uber fast with some of her WO3 c attacks. Although bringing her twin fans back would be a good crowd pleaser since it is the Qiao signature weapon. It doesn't necessarily have to be immature either if they make the moveset more reminiscent of Da's DW3-5 attacks, which would actually work fine now Daqiao has a new weapon of her own.

The fan has had a good few changes since the 7. She has one of her charge attacks from WO3, it's faster, and really is just better than it was. I would be content with Xiao Qiao keeping that. My problem is that Sun Quan should have at least gotten a couple of his charge attacks. Would have made the Dao a helluva lot better...and I guess Guan Ping is due a new moveset too since the Heavy Blade sort of doesn't look right.

^Quan should've kept at least a few charges and moves from Orochi but they dumbed his Dao back down to the DW7 moveset. The iron fan however, was improved in my opinion and it works fine with Xiao Qiao now.
