Regarding the fans, I'm only worried about the stance tbh. I have enough faith in Koei to at least utilize *cough*recycle*cough* the movesets from previous games with some revamps.

I'd prefer a more feminine moveset overall, but I wouldn't mind a more violent approach. :shifty:

The DLC weapons tend to be a tad more extravagant than the weapons already in the game. So whether it copies its DW6/past DW incarnations or makes up a whole new moveset (like the Blaze Blade) in which it is elegant, or whatever we can at least expect it to be pretty flashy and showy

Is anyone kinda worried about how the twin fans will turn out this time around?

...I really hope that its a much more graceful and feminine moveset with new fan models that are much more girly in appearance...

Any thoughts on this anyone?
I would prefer the stance to be more unisex. I didn't really fancy the Qiao's stances in 3,4,5, or Xiaoqiao's 6 stance; knees tilting inward looks awkward to me.

I think the stance should be more sophisticated or at least ferociously graceful... if that makes any sense.
Remember the pose that the Qiaos struck at a cutscene in DW5:XL, during "The Two Qiaos" stage, where you play as Sun Ce and Zhou Yu? Perhaps, something more related to that. I thought it was extremely bad arse, when I first saw it. xD

Moveset wise, I would prefer a mix of Da and Xiao's attacks from 3-5. I didn't fancy Xiaoqiao's attack string in DW6, except for the Renbu attack. If it's something new and totally different, I think it'd be great, too, as long as it isn't a clumsy moveset.

@Skode Lianshi's relationship with Sun Shang Xiang, especially as displayed in the game, is far from bodyguard. More like confidant, or lady-in-waiting, but mainly confidant. She's moral support for Sun Quan. Basically what Zhenji is doing with Cao Pi, but Sun Quan and Lianshi are more developed.

As far as the bladebow....yeah, I've already said what I had to say about that one, and who it could go to as an EX weapon. I just want to see how they function this time with the fighting system being different than DW6's, even though the design remains the same from what I can see. Can't wait next week to see the gameplay.

With all of these DLC weapons being included (Bladebow, Twin Fans, Blaze Sword, Screwing Crossbow, Emei Piercers, Grieves) I'm speculating that they might do a few things with them:

Bladebow, Emei Piercers, and Grieves will go to new characters. Obviously the Piercers will.

Twin Fans, they'll probably give to Xiao Qiao and the Iron Fan becomes a generic moveset. If she keeps the Iron Fan and gives the Twin fans to a new character, I would be in shock.

Don't know about Screwing Crossbow, but the Blaze Sword. Chances are that might go to Sun Quan.
Koei on their official notes state that she is a guard AND confidant of Sun Shangxiang. As such we are both right but the weapon should stay with her... probably one of the very few instances they actually designed a weapon with a character in mind instead of just pushing a square peg into a circular hole because whatever at the time new character needed a weapon.

Fan demand was Fairy Boots for Guan Suo, Blaze Sword for Sun Quan and Twin Fans for Xiao Qiao... all of which BEFORE they were even announced as DLC. As such its those three which are likely to go to older cast with the other three going to new faces.

Very excited with the Blade Bow! ^_^

I am actually muddled whether they will give Yueying the Bladed Bow and instead give the Dagger Axe to a new character. I remember Ling Tong who is the sole owner of the nun chucks from DW5 and he was altered in dw8 with the Sanjiegun and made Guan Suo the unique owner of the nun chucks but now that the boots are here it’s just a matter of time, well if they can change other characters then they might do the same thing for Yueying.

I think its ok to give her any weapon as long as the other weapon goes to a new character and not gets squandered but in my opinion the Blade Bow would really work for her being a renowned inventor and also Zhuge Liang invented this “Zhuge Crossbow” during those warring states thing so he could give it to her as a marital gift. But if they plan on giving it to a new character then Ma Yunlu would be a great candidate for me being Yueying’s friend and all.

I hope the fans will look similar to her DW6 fans, with flowers and frills and things...

Any thoughts on this anyone?
This i'm agree with this!
And i think i've stated this before in Xiaoqiao's thread, i hope they will keep Xiaoqiao's DW6 stance too.

Moveset-wise, i have a feeling that they will just re-use Xiaoqiao's s-strings either from DW6 or DW5, but of course i wouldn't mind it at all. As for her charge attacks, the combination between Daqiao's and Xiaoqiao's old moveset would be great for me.

I don't really mind how they look, but I liked how in DW4+5 the fans looked like they had small blades along the edge, it made it (if possible) more believable.

Moveset wise I don't mind what they do as long as they suit it to the Qiaos, I don't want another situation like the DW7 iron fan when they tried to tailor it to be unisex. I thought folding Chinese fans were traditionally used mainly by women? If so there should be nothing masculine about them.

He had the sanjiegun in DW6: Special. That's why.

Then he downgraded to the nunchuckus while Guan Suo also contained them, which I'm betting because of the DW6 physics. If KOEI wanted to declone one of the two, Ling Tong was probably the easiest because of him getting the sanjiegun in the past.

Now with Yueying, it's complicated. She first had the dagger-axe, then the bow, then the bladebow, then the staff (I like that Zhou Yu got that weapon as his EX instead of yet another generic sword moveset). I guess they wanted to test the waters, but decided just to stick with what she originally had. A different type of polearm I'll say.

It could also be fans not liking her revamped version. Mainly DW6 & DW7. She's gotten better after that.

But I just hope their EX weapons don't change. Fans were so bothered over clones, and now that they are unique even amongst generics, fans want to change their EX weapons again?

Now Sun Quan and Xiao Qiao I can understand. I have yet to see a valid reason why Throwing Knives and Zanbato are generic weapons though. Maybe it's because of the lack of being staggered with the Zanbato, while the Throwing Knives are quick and lethal.

Ling Tong had the sanjiegun The same way Yueying had the blade bow in DW6: Special, and then they both reverted back to their old weapons in DW7 (Lingtong nunchucks DW7, Yueying DW7:E dagger-axe) so chances are the upgrades/change could happen to Yueying if they want to due to Ling Tong getting the sanjiegun back while they could always give the old weapon to a new character like Guan Suo with the nunchucks. It actually depends on the fans, if giving her the blade bow would help boost up her popularity again then it’s inevitable.

But I truly understand your points though, but if you look at it aesthetically, the blade bow would really really fit her personality than the brute dagger-axe, if her moveset was like during the DW5 days with the supple spinning attacks then I could have liked it but now it’s more like Xu Huang’s giant axe but smaller. Well I could always switch the blade bow with her weapon…but still…

Regarding the throwing knives, I hope they don’t give it to the generics. I feel that it’s already a trademark of Wang Yuanji and unique in its own way so I hope they don’t just give it away. The fans would request for it to return eventually to her so why waste time, they could just upgrade the moveset and then remove it from the generics weaponry. For Guan Ping’s weapon, I miss his old moveset that is all I can say about it.

The bladebow, from those screenshots, don't seem to fit well with Yueying's looks. If its anything like the one from DW6, which I think was acrobatic, it went well because of her athletic looking outfit, rather than that gorgeous one she has now.

Then again, it'll look pretty sexy with her DLC outfit ;)

They create dlc weapons for future characters. Some want yue ying to have bladed bow as her main weapon, so one character will have the scythe. I believe many will say: "oh he/she reminds me of the old yue ying. Nothing special..." (Unless they change its movesets). I still want yue ying to keep her old one and for those wanting dw6 sp you can use it as her 2nd weapon  yeah like some people told about that previously, i really want guan ping has new movesets. Not so fast like dw5...but not dumb like dw7-8...i think instead of giving some old characters new weapons, koei should guve generics their own movesets, or even unique weapon skins :sly: i love yuanji with her knives :(

I agree. It's gonna look awkward on her with that elegant outfit. Her DW6 one fits it perfectly and gives her the 'assassin' look and feel. I honestly love that.

*sigh*
But DW6 outfits aren't free here. <_<

Hum ...
I think they will stop when DW8Xl will be annonced.
IU think September will be the next month for DW8 DLC, after they have to make OTHERS DLC for WO3 U and work on DW8 XL (or Empires).

I'd prefer Koei works on Empires and not XL ...

They might just do what they did with 7 & 7XL, continue the DLC, but make things like weapons compatible for both, same with some stages. Best way for them to make as much money as possible I guess?

Some of the DW8: XL DLC could be used for DW8, just like some of DW7: XL's could for DW7. Mainly the weapons, but it probably won't be as frequent in DW8 as it was in DW7. Costumes is another possibility.
