All sorts of dumb in this topic. DLC weapons won't be given to anyone in XL, because its cutting into their DLC profits by having XL include them already. The 3 bros got novel weapons because do you really need this explained why? Xu Huang got his great axe because it was his weapon in since DW3 and honestly "Xu Huang uses a great axe" is one of his only real character features.

I wouldn't mind the Bladebow going to someone like Zhuge Zhan, or I guess Ma Yunlu, if it must be put on a character. I won't be touching this weapon as it looks abysmal. I'll be just fine with scythe-wielding Yueying

The only reason Cheng Pu shouldn't get his weapon, is because the title of his weapon is preoccupied by Zhang Fei. That's really the only reasonable explanation I can think of. However this really is derailing from the actual topic of actual DLC weapons.

I would rather the bladebow just go to Ma Yunlu or Xin Xianying. I don't really care fo Lu Lingqi...so she can fight with silly string for all I care.

But we won't see any changes till Empires, DW8 and DW8XL will very likely share DLC, so having it on disc for XL would just be unfair to all those who bought them in vanilla.

Yeah Okay.

Let's take a trip back to the days when we saw the news of the Trishulas being released, and right after they did release it, KOEI cancelled it because it went to Wang Yi.

But I can say that you might be right for future reference and with how the rest of the weapons will be released. It wasn't until Empires that most of the DLC weapons had users, but that was for those who were cloned anyways (Zhu Rong, Da Qiao). Some had unique weapons a little earlier than others like in WO3 (Yue Ying, Xu Huang).

So in that case, if Chen Gong does become a unique character in XL, he might actually get a totally different weapon and not the Emei Piercers. My point still stands on Bladebow and Ma Yunlu though. Is KOEI willing to release yet another Shu female in an expansion when they just had one for DW8? I think not. Even if they tried, fans would complain even worse than they do over anything involving Ma Yunlu.

That goes for anyone else who will be included in XL and Empires. They might actually get unique weapons instead of those released as DLC. Not sure why KOEI intends on doing that since it takes less time and money making weapons than making characters.

I think someone explained the trishulas were cancelled because that was when that PSN hack happened, so rather than releasing them after that long wait, they just cancelled them and gave them to Wang Yi.

But even if that wasn't the case, the point is they did not show up in DW7 as DLC, which meant no one wasted money on them just to end up getting them for free in XL

While true it sucks, since it is one of the few weapons identified by name in the novel and is his sort of trade mark.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

They were supposed to be DLC indeed, and it never happened due to the 4 or so months of PSN being down. There was even a promo scan of them. KT is in the business of making money. It didn't just "get canceled". They had a weapon and moveset they worked on and needed to use it somewhere, so they stuck it on a new character. "Yeah Ok" as he put it. I don't know what ryowrecky is trying to prove there.

I believe the shadow sprint is canceling into a sort of dash. Like Xiahou Dun and Zhang Fei in DW7XL (or everyone in SW3).

Dive, I am pretty sure is recoverin from being knocked into the air by jumping back and away from the enemy, like Guan Yu and Zhao Yun in DW7XL (if you ever used it...I always had combat resistance, so I didnt even know that skill existed until much much later...)
In DW8 you can do it when ever you are staggered. I've seen it...it's actually not that bad.

Are your guesses based on the coloring of the fifth weapons? I thought of that too, but I believe someone from Koei even said that they can be recolored if need be.
sure it based on colours and... it just seem suitable. I did not heard anything from Koei about re-colouring, but... sure it might be. Hard to predict what Koei do next, but yeah, I still support this theory. Anyway I don`t think XL bring all of dlc weapon owners, myabe some of them, or even none. (just Chen Gong with something completely new)

Because Guan Yu got his. So did Zhang Fei. Liu Bei did too. And Xu Huang did too...

So how that argument barely works?

But I slightly agree, Cheng Pu having a rather obscure weapon doesn't really fit the image of him in my head. That said...Koei's vision of him will likely be nothing like what I picture (Han Dang sure wasnt) so who knows...it'd be easier for me to picture something that isnt a sword or spear if I knew what he looked like...
Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei, that`s funny considering they are main heroes of novel. And Cheng Pu is not. Xu Huang? it was rather random. Did Zhang Bao and Guan Xing get their father`s weapons? No.
As for his look... likely another old geez. I really hope Koei give freedom to imagination and make him just middle-aged with hair-colours similar to Basara Hisahide.
They use them in their musous.
And I still want Lu Lingqi to be a beast of a warrior like her father, since we don't have many who are actually warriors that thrive on the front lines. I'm hoping she get's Lu Bu's cross halberd.

I see.

So I guess I was wrong.

Nonetheless, using the word "dumb" is rather mean to say when most probably didn't even realize that detail about DLC and eventually being EX weapons in the first place.

Koei announced DW8 when even DW7Empires was not realeased. We talk about Koei. Some time they do irrational things. DLC weapons in XL might be EX weapons in XL, considering we don`t even know when XL will be released.

Long time no see, guys. But just now I found this:

http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2454622195

It's similar to that metal greaves glitch where the weapon disappears, but with the bladebow.

Tbh I don't think it needs to be similar to Zhang Fei's double pikes. Cheng Pu's is called the Iron Serpent, so it can have a very distinct design on its own. Like maybe having the shape of a cobra head as it's blade (and can spray poison :shifty: ). Or a glaive with spiral protruding blades on its tip.

Hmm, know who else happens to use a golden/whitish crossbow at times? A character with 4 star compatability and a MAJOR need for a better moveset? :sly:

LIANSHI FOR BLADEBOW.
I can't like this enough... Where's the like button... Or the love button... Argh

Lian Shi really is the only logical choice for the bladebow. Even though they showed it on Yue Ying >___<;

But eh who knows what will happen.

Anyone know when we are going to get any news about Twin Fans? I'm dying for pics and video!!

Next week (this Wednesday night for NA) will be just a new horse and skins for the bladebow and some stages and a new skin for the Ambition Mode town. We'll get the preview for the twins fans then.

But they won't actually be released until the following week. So July 25th (or very very late July 24th, for the West).

The twin fans will likely resemble the DW6 twin fans. Floral pink patterns and what not. In the same way the Pugil Sticks were very obviously feminine, pretty sure the twin fans will be too

well according to the Koei wiki's DLC page they have released DW4, DW5, and DW6 costumes as DLC. we just have yet to get the DW3 costumes, or the DW1 costumes that we got in DW7. you know, the costumes for Diaochan, Lu Bu and such.

they will probably also re-release the school and fairytale packs, with new outfits included for the new comers. and, hopefully, maybe even strike force fury form costumes.

I hope all DLC Weapons except for the Double Fan will go to new Characters, and the old weapons won't be cut.

My impression is that the new Twin Fans will be similar to their DW5 counterpart.
Daqiao's and Xiaoqiao's were only slightly different (the main differences being the colour and kind of flower at the end of the external slats), I would be pleased if KOEI kept that design.
A moveset that reminds of that would be welcome too.

Well, they're going to release Zhao Yun and SSX RoTK ocstumes as DLC, along with other pre-order stuff. I guess we have to wit till Xtreme Legends to see more costumes (my guess that they will give us Xiahou Dun and Wang Yuanji costumes. Maybe also for Diaochan or Lu Bu).

Tbh I wish they'd drop the past costumes and get in RoTK, Dynasty Tactics or Kessen 2 costumes instead. Past costumes are nice but if they're going to charge us for them AGAIN I'm not interested, especially since the default DW8 costumes are a very strong set of designs already (much better than 7).

Btw, are the original costumes available as one big pack for everyone or is it "each kingdom sold separately" again? I'll only buy them if it is one big pack because I think 4 quid per kingdom (as it was in DW7) is disgusting.
