Alright got to play around with the fans enough.

Overall it would be a pretty basic moveset if it didn't have such a good air game. It's also unique in that it's the only weapon capable of landing itself from mid air. A quick descent replaces its ability to air dash while the aerial attack serves as a makeshift air dash.

C1. Standard flinching whirlwind like regular fan's C1. Spin launches juggled enemies. Seems like it hits downed enemies too.
C2. Standard aerial launcher. Leaves user in air
C3. Multiple diagonal slashes followed by 360 toss. Similar to Halberd's C3, the one from DW6's spear.
C4. Front and Back boomerang toss. Old School fan move.
C5. Whirlwind as a launcher. Leaves user in air
C6. Both fans thrown forward and boomerang back dragging enemies with them. Ends with another whirlwind gust that breaks guard.

Aerial Attack. The plane pose attack from the old games. Repeats up to 3 times. Can chain into Aerial Charge and Switch as long as before the 3rd attack.
Aerial Charge. Creates suction attack that hits multiple times. Tap again to smack enemies away toward the ground resulting in another whirlwind attack. This attack does leave you in the air on a single tap so can be repeated into another charge or followed with an aerial attack.

Switch Attack Ground. 360 degree throw that launches enemies. Enemies will recover if hit while already airborne.
Switch Attack Air. Fires projectile towards ground resulting in whirlwind like the whisk. Enemies are hit multiple times and cannot escape like the whisk.

Dash Attack. Falls forward clumsily with fans outwards. Spin launches enemies. If you land yourself from the air, you can chain it immediately into a dash attack. Allows for some continued juggles.

Storm Rush. More 360 degree spins.
Variable Counter. Pretty much Guile's Flash Kick. A kick performed during a backflip.

Horse attacks are pretty much the wind and fire wheels attacks from the Ps2 games.

Huh, I definitely wouldn't say it's better than the Iron Fan, but at least it seems to be more decent than the fans the Qiao's used to have. Those things were just useless back in dW4-5 with their lack of range of clunky movements. A major improvement here. And of course most importantly they definitely seem to fit Xiao. So yeah, sure, make that her EX weapon, long as the iron fan isn't lost. And give Lianshi the bladebow Koei! :sly:
You must have sucked with them badly then lmao because their PS2 movesets were sublime.

Both of the Qiaos' C4s were amazing with crowd control. Xiao's C4 especially in DW5 (without DW3/4's automatic lock on system).

Were they, or are you talking through nostalgia? What characters C4's WEREN'T good crowd clearers, that was pretty much always Koei's placeholder for the wide area 'knock everyone back' attack, so congrats if they did what they were supposed to I suppose. It is the rest of the movesets I just always found lacking. Not so much with Da, hers was always better, but Xiao's childish clunky moves, while suiting her, definitely didn't help her any. C3 was easily interrupted, C1 was useless, C6 went absolutely nowhere and was terrible to try and aim. C2 and 5...meh, they're the same launchers every weapon had, nothing special. I'd still prefer it over many weapons in dw now when it comes to bringing a moveset that actually FITS the character, but c'mon it really wasn't that good. :/

Nostalgia has literally nothing to do with the twin fans efficacy.

Zhen Ji's C4 was an abysmal crowd clearer, as was Taishi Ci's. And do not get me started on Sun Jian's/Dong Zhuo's C4s.

I have no idea which game you're talking about, but if you're referring to 5 then I'm going to need to question what stats you used on those weapons.

DW3/4 I could understand (and even then the item system enabled every character to be as overpowered as f*ck), but 5, specifically Xtreme Legends? There's little to no excuse, because the weapon stat scroll system in that game gave the player the option to have every single weapon as overpowered as they liked.

Xiao's C6 was excellent if you managed to finish the full string and have her 'stumble', but even if you didn't, it was still decent.

Almost everyone's C1 was useless unless you're referring to DW4.

And her C3? Well you must have been a pretty low level then because that was one of the main attacks I used to get her 4th/5th weapons (depending on the game).

Arguably every single weapon in the PS2 games were decent movesets, but its the player who determines who efficient they really are.

Hey I asked this earlier but was most probably missed out with all the twin fan hype, the stage that all the videos were in (i think they all had the same stage anyway) its at fan castle but seems to be a different version had the other fraction in it, I was wondering if it was Dlc stage or a normal one from free mode, sorry if this is in the wrong place thought it would fit better as its linking back to twin fans videos, and geez that's a lot of rambling :hehe:

It was most likely the stage that came with the weapon, the stage where you get the 5-star Twin Fans. Pretty sure all the DLC weapons come with a stage.

That's it :

When you get the DLC, you have the stage to get the five star dlc weapon each time.

I think they said we will be getting a Japanese voice option. That is all I think has been officially revealed.

personally do not think I'll take DLC for DW 8, it seems to me as it is already quite complete

If anything, I hope it gets an XL and not in the form of DLC, I much prefer the physical support

If the DLCs aren't coming to the non-japanese players/games it would suck so bad. However, is there going to be more DLCs, such as Dynasty Warriors 2 costume and more downloadable weapons?

Unfortunately I doubt they'll make DW2 outfits as DLC, simply becuase quite a lot of characters looked very similar (Zhou Yu) or even identical (Lu Xun) to how they looked in 3.

It's a shame, because Sun Shangxiang's DW2 is still my favourite design for her to date, I'd love to see what it looks like in PS3 graphics :/

^I did notice that :) Question is though, when?
It seems like they're really taking their time getting it out. In Europe I have a feeling that incident with Sony leaking the DW1 and RoTK costumes for SSX and Zhao Yun might hold it up a bit. Idk why it just seems likely.

The game has barely been out for a week.

They aren't "taking their time".

They expect people are still playing the regular game content and it looks bad when game companies come out with DLC really early anyways.

I want the DLC too but dang people, be patient.

DW2:Knee guards with simple shoes, red coat with ornate gold patterns all around it, shoulders are pointed, hat has gold riming with golden plates on the front and side, has cloth wrist bands with rope around the upper arms.
DW3:Wears armored boots that come up to the knees, red coat with gold hemming, shoulder of coat is fit to wearers body, hat has silver rim at the base with gold wing patterns to the side with ornate symbol in the front. Wearing armored gauntlets over wrists and forearms, and golden bands up on upper arms. Has bright blue sash around the hips that is tied in a bow in the front.

DW2:PANTS with knee high boots and ruffles around the knees.
    DW3:robe with slippers.
Yes Zhou Yu's designs are fairly close between DW2 and DW3, but I still think that there is enough difference to warrant a DW2 costume DLC pack. I mean have you even compared the artworks for the DW2 designs to the DW3 artworks? A lot of similarities yes, but very few are are identical, let alone Lu Xun's designs.

Doesn't Zhou Tai's Curved Sword air charge force a quick landing? Or did that change in DW8?

Ok no need to nit-pick, they are alike enough that at a distance there is hardly any difference, so therefore it isn't really economical for Koei to go to the effort. If they were going to do it, we probably would have already seen a DW2 costume pack in DW7.

I would truly like to see a DW2 costume pack for the characters who did look different in it, but I would be very surprised if it actually happens now they have announced a DW3 pack.
