August the 22nd, is the date when they'd have announced September DLC schedules.
So...maybe it's just a sign more DLC are coming in September.
No...it should've been August 29th instead. If they want to announce September's DLC
I just hope it's DW8XL announcement, it's been taking ages for it.

Actually not.
They always announce next month schedules two weeks before.

For example :
On July 18, we had a preview (with screens) of what was coming on July 25. But we also had the list of all August DLC.
Just look at the date of this post of yours ;)
http://s13.zetaboards.com/koeiwarriors/single/?p=9452224&t=7025838

But anyway, I'm also hoping for XL announcement before the end of the month (hopefully next week, which may be the reason why they already have shown all the new WO3 characters : to let the DW new characters make their appearance without overshadowing WO3 ones)

Some heads-up here:
Next week (15 Aug) there will be no DLCs, most likely because it'll be a week of summer holidays in Japan.

And it seems like the 22 Aug batch will be the last one? There's no remaining DLCs left for the 29th, which is still in August, so let alone a preview for September...

so, Xl announcement may possibly come after it, in the last week of August, very likely I should say.

I'm all out of yen, and won't be able to get the last of the dlc, and just when they finally decide to throw in a saber-tooth, oh well, I just wish they'd quit with the DW5 stages though, I can't even remember any of them. They should quit jerking around and give us DW3 Hefei Castle, it was so much fun and not to mention pretty lengthy, plus Wu could use some dlc where they are allies and not enemies lol. Seems like its just been Wei and Shu, with a bit of Jin( Missed my chance for an alcohol pun.)

One-week holiday...again..?Japanese and their holidays...*yet it's the same here as mudik/lebaran day*
I still stand to believe that last week of august there will be announcement of DW8XL. I dont know about this garnix, but usually DLCs are still out for August 29 if there's a september preview.

The storm runner looks like a Native American horse now lol. Not like dw4 version
It actually looks pretty close to the original one except for the tail. I agree though, it's very native esque now. I love it!

@ Maeda Toshiie

They're talking about the JP game.

They were short one for the Others so they just tossed Sun Quan's generic sword up there to act as the 9th.

That's a bit telling, ain't it? :shifty:

Or maaayyybbbeee....its a hint at what Chen Gong's weapon will actually be? Hmmm? :sly:

Am I the only one who thinks "gray lightning" isn't an appropriate name for the Bowangpo DLC horse? He isn't grey at all. He should've been called "yellow lightning" or something like that, since his original Chinese name contains the character meaning "yellow" and his tail is bright yellow.

...Alright, maybe I am nitpicking.

I know this is extremely late, but the past outfits look really good in this game. I'm not sure if it's the lighting or detail, but they just fit so well in this installment.

Or maybe it's just Xiahou Dun's DW4 outfit, it's really killer for lack of a better term lol.

Well unlike 7, they actually took some time to cleanup the assets from 4 and 5. They didn't create new textures for them like they did for 3 which they remade from the ground up, they're certainly much cleaner than they were in 7. 7's were direct rips from likely Orochi Z and so were using Ps2 grade textures.

They also increased the polygon count on some objects like capes so that they'd flowed closer to the stuff in the game already. Still Dw3 outfits are much nicer than 4 and 5 because of the complete remake versus a remastering.

Ah, so that's what it is. I do appreciate the effort this time around, it's probably the same reason for the JP fans being charged this time too.

I did notice that capes and pieces of cloth flow better than they do in DW7, heck I could say the same about the default outfits. The movements in the past costumes are a bit more subtle, they don't have that extreme wavy movement like the defaults. Characters with or that had long hair move better too. Like Xiahou Dun, its not stuck to his back nor does it flop excessively. I even think Zhao Yun's is toned down too.

I love Zhao Yun's ROTK outfit. It just gets irritating seeing his cape constantly clipping through his weapon.

Tbh I hate how much loose clothing and long hair moves in DW8, to the point where I'm kinda hoping there will be a patch to fix it (though there won't be, it's too minor). It looks really unrealistic, the way that the slightest movement the character makes causes the hair to flap like they are standing under a helicopter. A minor complaint, but it does bug me. Some characters stand out in particular (talking of default costumes here, not sure about 7 costumes because I don't use them); Cao Pi, Zhao Yun, Yue Jin.

That said I'd rather it be like this than stuck to their figure PS2-style. The graphics are much better in 8 than they were in 7, although as I've said before I still think the 6 graphics were the best to date in a DW game. The lighting, textures and animations looked the best.
