New weapons are still a must even if all the characters are decloned from other UNPC's, like previously said some characters share their weapons with the NPC's, so technically still making them a clone of some one.

New weapons bring about replayability and something new and fun for the player to used, with DLC weapons you arent restricted, there arent certain stages you can only use them on or certain characters either.

Also new weapons can be used for new characters in XL & E, just think if they add characters to make the roster for 8Empires 80ish, that would be 80 weapons +those that were added in DLC not assigned to characters...

Good post there and is exactly on point... I think the reasoning for them to be included if we are going to be doing dlc at all is undeniable.

Plus when you sit back and look at all the weapons. They really are a few steps behind. The short pike saw some improvements that help it stand out for Han Dang. It's not really even about being over the top, they just need something. IMO...

Hopefully we'll see some info regarding the dlc in a week or 2.

Ok Lu Tzu, I'm back to the pics after this lol.

Weapons: No. All the characters are decloned now, so for there's no reason to add a new weapon.

Stages: Definitely. A lot of the staged were boring, though, so the have to put a little more effort in that.

Outfits: Why not. However, they really are pushing it with the ridiculous prices latley, so the should watch that out.

Characters: No, just no. We already have too much new characters for one installment, so no.
Weapons: Well, you do have the point, but Koei does work on the dlc weapons, I wonder how it's going to work. It could be switching weapons to characters again, or give it to new characters. We can find out in the future.

Stages and Outfits: I don't buy it since I don't have a job... yet. I'll think about it when they have ROTK Costume for call characters.

Characters: Garnix mention it before, so its cool and I don't think Koei going to do it anyway.

Plus the weapon DLC packs were pretty popular soo I don't see why they wouldn't make and bank off more of them
That's what company are to make money. Weapons are consider popular because there are characters that doesn't suit well with new or current weapons. *Yea, I'm looking you Xiao Qiao.* But there's another method they do that. It could be that they take the feedback from the fans to rearrange the characters with suitable weapons. It's my guess though.

To be honest I would have thought the weapons would have sold a lot more than that of the stages DLC, to me I think stages become boring quickly cause you play them a few times. But a weapon lasts a lot more time, seeing as its new and you can try it on many characters to see who it fits the best.

This^^^ and adding to that most of the stages they back as DLC are old maps we have already played from past games so they get boring a tad bit faster.

that sword does remind me of Xiahou Dun, the armor reminds me of the old nanman officers they used to have But all of those are sweet.. Speaking of the Nanman, if they wanted to add more variety to the troops maybe a blow dart would fit them either for a new character, as a special unit, or just a weapon?

Blow Dart and Katar weapon can be suitable to Nanman force since it fits the personality along with the armies. Yellow Turban can work, but I think they are more type of the magic weapons.

I see where you're coming from with nanman. I was thinkin more SF dun with the long flowing hair chest exposed ang his waist gear comes to mind.

The blowdart? I wouldn't mind it either way, but something about peons hiding behind trees, running around blowing darts and hauling ass just makes me think "fun." lol

lol they don't have to haul ass hell with the current AI they would probably just stand in the bushes like assholes staring at you. Love the Meteor hammer bring that on, they could really get creative with that thing

Lol true.. Just thought it would be cool to have them so scared, they'd actually run and hide waiting to ambush you if you leave them unchecked. Instinctively cowards as a part of their AI and to distinguish them from the archers just a bit.

Idk... But I like the idea though. Maybe they could have a mixture of both?

lol I like your idea though, it would piss me off but mix things up and be fun at the same time. It would be funny seeing them haul ass across the map after they shot darts at you

complete with a unique running animation, looking back at you horrified as they haul bottoms too. Classic.. lol

They need guys that frustrate you a bit there. I was hoping we'd see more of the enemy types return. Boulder throwers, female warriors, nanman troops etc etc.

I feel like the game needs different troops with different agendas. The blow dart guys are hit and run. Then you could have something like a Brute class peon that appears when the opposing sides morale is low or something. Equipped with something that sets them apart like a warhammer, and have them immune to flinching. Health a lot deeper than your average peon, and allow them to actually use combos. Even if its a small combo.

I guess this reverts us back to somewhere we went earlier in talking about different enemy types as dlc. Which I doubt they have considered with 8.... Would have been cool to see them take a leap here though.

lmao them looking back horrified it be too funny. But I get where your coming from with the brute class, kinda of something similar to the sumos in samurai warriors kind of brutish but with a big ass weapon or something. I'd also like them to bring bakc their bandit class or the yellow turban npc.

DLC different enemy types sounds like a good idea to me

Heck I wouldn't even mind seeing the magicians from strikeforce. It just adds something different to the big picture of the game. Well looks like this is my exit for tonight. Today was a long day at work. Time for some shut eye. I'll be back tomorrow guys. Take care.

The magicians forgot all about those. They have so many good ideas that they just scrap. Theres pontential for these kind of things, I donno why they don't build off them and make them better.

Hopefully they'll get it back to rare form one of these days. This is something else that if they didn't consider it as dlc, they can utilize the opportunity with XL and Empires. I wonder if the fans out east request this type of stuff. I'm sure they feel some need for variety as well.

What I really want in DLC is some old stages back. I know they did it in DW7, but I really enjoyed playing remastered classics. My favorite part about those stages, why I loved playing them so much, aside from the huge nostalgia trip, was seeing all the generics replaced with their new playable counterparts.

I remember playing Yellow Turban Rebellion in DW2 and seeing Huang Gai and Cao Ren as generics, and it just was awesome to replay essentially the exact same stage but this time Huang Gai and Cao Ren were playable. Or when I played Yiling in DW2 for the first time, i distinctly remember following a generic Wei Yan around (I was like...10 at the time, I naively believed sticking around allies would let me live longer) and then replay the remastered Yiling in DW7, to see Wei Yan there again but this time a unique character, put a smile on my face.

So now (and hopefully we get some DW3 stages, being that I loved so many of them) if I could get some DW3 YTR and see Han Dang or Nanman Campaign (one that isn't stupidly hard -.- ) and have Zhang Bao and Guan Xing there...I just appreciate those kind of things and I love them.

But in addition to stages, some costumes would be nice. I almost never change costumes though, so I don't know why I'm so attracted to them, but I am. =/

I don't want more old outfits...especially if we have to buy them again, to hell with that. But some ROTK style outfits for everyone would be neat. Or even some cosplay type outfits where they all dress up as characters from other KOEI games, not just SW but Bladestorm, Troy, Crimson Sea, Orochi, hell even Gundam or FOTNS. Just imagine seeing Cao Ren this time actually wearing Gundam armor :XD

Also, just for the hell of it, there is a DLC twin swords skin in DW7E which looks bad ass...I want it...preferbly as a skin for Lu Xun (or Yue Jin I guess)...or as an entirely new moveset. They just look cool...Here!

Ah well, that's just me though. I may think of more later.

Sorry...didn't mean for it to be so long.

In short: I want stuffs. :shifty:

Id be happy if they brought back old stages, like the previous Yellow Turban stages for example. They could be used in commander mode.

But in free mode/story mode, when you go to start the stage it gives you a selection, for example.

Shu -> Stage Select -> Yellow Turban Rebellion -> Map select (DW8, DW7, DW6), -> character select.

I think that would be fun, then at least theyre not just able to be used in one mode like they were in DW7 conquest, where you played it once and got bored.

Yep Cao Cao had beastly armor in Kessen. My jaw dropped the first time I saw it back then. lol.. He definitely needs it in blue ;)
@Stages I wouldn't mind any old stage really. I had nostalgic moments playing them, because for me... It has been so long since I've seen them. Mr. Kami has a point, it is a bit refreshing to see guys that were once generic... Not generic anymore.

Weapons: No. All the characters are decloned now, so for there's no reason to add a new weapon.
But some characters still shared the weapon with generic.

Xiaoqiao's iron fan
Sun Quan's dao
Ma Chao's Spear
Xu Zhu's Club
Guan Ping's Great Sword
Wang yuanji's Throwing knives

I dont see why we cant add new weapons to the dlc despite the fact all of them already decloned with each playable characters. But some of 'em are still shared with generic.

They can give:
- Xiaoqiao's twin fans
- Sun Quan's WO3/DW6 Pronged sword
- Ma Chao's new spear moveset under different name
- Xu Zhu's new club moveset unde different name/new weapon
- Guan Ping's Zanbato
- Wang Yuanji's new throwing knives moveset under different name

I think adding new weapon increase more replayability. Honestly i like ding feng's circle blade and it's perk. I can see KOEI give DLC weapons with a certain perk like circle blade does.
Yes! Now that you mentioned i'm starting to think that Koei might come with DLC weapons for those characters. I just hope that this become their EX weapons, you know... ;)
