It is somewhat disheartening. It seems to be more a 360 issue from what I've experienced. Shame too cause I was looking forward to quite a bit of the DLC. |

I actually have had none of the problems with the DLC as an Xbox 360 user. I was however wary of them because of these problems being brought up over a week ago here. Out of impatience for wanting the extra 12 stages from the joke weapons (which seemed to be when the problem started for xbox DLC) that i had been holding off on for well over a week I decided to take the gamble. I have had no game freezes, no game crashes, the Japanese dialogue doesn't seem slow to me, cut scenes play properly with the Japanese dialogue, and story mode runs smoothly with the japanese dialogue as well. All of these problems that have been brought up I haven't had. So my guess is that one or more of the DLC just doesn't work properly with a particular and probably problematic DLC installed, since I haven't exactly splurged and bought them all like I thought i would. Not saying this possibly problematic DLC doesn't work, but I'm guessing it just doesn't work with a specific other or more installed. For any interested these are all of the ones I have installed with no problems: Weapon system packs 1 & 2 Japanese Voice Option New Stage and BGM packs 1, 2, 3, and 4 Original Costume Packs 1, 3, and 4 Wallpapers Kingdom set Wallpapers Female Set |

It is a little awkward using your musou mid string while using the Sabatons. Considering you're considered airborne while attacking, so you'll always go into your air musou. Luckily, I like Guan Suo's air musou, perhaps even more than his ground musous, so it works out...but it'd make deciding which characters to equip the Sabatons on require a little more consideration, me thinks. |

The musou that I hate out of the males in the game (well not all of them) is Zhang Bao, it is just a little strike and then done. |

Mine is the second Cao Ren one which he just grabs them and they explode... makes no sense and is just a lamer version of the old Ding Feng one. His flail one in comparison was fantastic... still, not sure why your mentioning this in the DLC thread haha. Anyhows liking both these weapons if honest. Emei Daggers is my kind of moveset - its powerful and pacey but had a few grab attacks which i always love in a moveset. The Sabatons - nice mechanic which adds difficulty in their use but which at the same time does not detract from them like say the Circle Blade and its unique mechanic. So far as such in order of preference for the DLC weapons its... 1. Rotating Crossbow 2. Emei Daggers 3. Sabatons 4. Flaming Sword |

does anyone find the Rotating Crossbow to be somewhat overpowered? I mean if you pull off that C3 you can kill generals easy on Hard using it, all Whirlwind characters use it for getting their 5th weapons I think it's somewhat overpowered in those terms does anyone else think it is? |

It is powerful, yes. I spam the C4 and C6 when im in a bind, it deals a TON of damage with cyclone and slash. Great back up weapon on harder difficulties when you need a breather. |

yeah just make sure to not get surrounded otherwise it'll be catastrophic. in terms of how I rate the weapons Flame Blade - 6/10 Rotating Crossbow - 9/10 Boots - 9/10 Emei Daggers - 7/10 shrink down the boots and chuck them on a female character, that Storm Rush reminds me too much of Chun Li for a Male to use it |

I would rank them so far: 1. Sabatons 2. Emei Piercers 3. Revolving Crossbow 4. Flame Sword They're all fun, but I find myself enjoying the hell out of the Sabatons. Which surprised me, cause initially they were awkward and hard to use. But once you get the hang on their little quirks, they're a hell of a lot of fun to use. The Emei Piercers were one of the weapons I was most looking forward to (along with the Blade Crossbow). I love the moveset, but what I love the most about it are the animations. It's so fluid and awesome, love using the C3 and C6 just because I like the way they look. The Crossbow is strong, but...nothing all that elaborate. The Flame Sword is also fun, and I enjoy using it, but beyond the "charge up" gimmick, its really just a sword. Not that that is a bad thing...but, it's less impressive than the other three. |

I agree Kam with the Sword being the weakest enjoyment wise. i find the Striking Broadsword having a better gimmick because it's consistent as apposed to the dragging of the Flame Blade to achieve it's gimmick, this applies to the Nine Ringed Blade and Generals Sword as they each have consistent Gimmicks I find the Rotating Crossbow to be basic and simple to use as opposed to the more flashy moves of the Flame Blade which is something I like, not all weapons need to be flashy which is why I'm in love with the Rake despite it's simple Move set it's a beast in battle so flashy doesn't mean awesome, i mean yeah it might look awesome in terms of style but for Power? that is where i think a weapon can lie in being awesome but that is my opinion on the matter other people think differently |

The Sabatons have probably been the most fun out of them and the Emei Piercers which are stylish. I'm just waiting for more experimenting using a light version of each though, when I next can. The stages were okay, but I just really get them for them being new stages and for the accompanying music tracks. Edited by LittleDragonZ, Thu Oct 24, 2013 9:43 pm.

Sabatons are definitely the most enjoyable DLC weapon out so far. Visually they look pretty weird on every character (except Pang De using his green palette swap, and obviously he looks odd actually using this moveset lol), the moveset was clearly based around Guan Suo's EXs and musou attacks but him wearing no armour except around his feet just looks odd. I can get over it but, assuming he ends up keeping the weapon in the future, hopefully they'll either adjust the weapon's appearance of Guan Suo's design itself next time. |

So, the new pack of weapons is very intersting and actually testing it out. It seem that Guan Suo does fit that Sabatons , which I guess I'll drop that chat about it. As for Emei Piercers, it seem that I been testing with Lian ShI. Dang, it does fit her, and Wang Yi can work as well...

I put it on Wang Yi...and tried it on Jia Xu but it didn't look very good on him. Lianshi is a whirlwind type character, so, I wouldn't put it on her. I don't like using those mastery seal things, cause they waste a slot... But, I want to see what they look like on her, so i'll give it a go for one stage. But as of now, it's only on Wang Yi. Stabbing people on the ground and shiving the hell out of them is kinda her thing... |

I tried them on Zhenji and they worked ok I think they are definitely a female weapon. It looks alright on some guys, but it suits the females much better imo |

All you need to do is aim your attacks though, once you get used to how the weapon feels and what it's attack ranges are you barely even notice the hit requirement for the rest of the attack string anymore. |

Yeah, once you become accustomed to the way it works, it's not a big deal. It was awkward for me at first, cause I (upon using the weapons I realized) tend to swing well in advance of the enemy getting close...which obviously does not work with the Sabatons. But, you know, once you make contact, especially with the enemy officer, just let the joy stick go and let the auto-lock on do its work. The only difficult part was having to retrain my hands to stop fudging around with the stick while i was attacking. Most of the charge attacks are decent enough AoEs to keep the soldiers around you from bashing your skull in. If you have velocity on the weapon. That said...dear lord, Koei, PLEASE let there be Combat Resistance in DW8XL, PLEASE! >.< |

If I had to give them to a certain character as of now, I would go: Flaming Sword = Gan Ning Rotating Crossbow = Xiahou Ba Emei Daggers - Either Wang Yi or Zhang Chunhua. Haven't decided yet Sabatons - Guan Suo Although I'm torn on Gan Ning because I love his moveset now >.< lol . |

The best DLC weapons for now is the flame blade and just after the blade bow Rotating cross bow is way too slow and you don't have armor |
