Wow, what's with that response? All he did was ask a gameplay question. There's no need to be a jerk about it. That reply not only didn't answer his question but was really uncalled for.

^I second that. How petty, Joetri. That said I do think the hitboxes on the fans are fine. It's not a perfect moveset but compared to how flimsy and weak the DW6 twin fans moveset was it's definitely an improvement. I'm also happy they gave the fans a new stance. Pre-DW6 just looked silly and DW6 Xiaoqiao looked like she was squatting like she desperately needed to pee. The more upright pose of these fans is much better. |

Yeah that kind of response isn't necessary Joetri, so in the future I hope we can just be nice to each other. Thanks. ![]() Anyway to those who already bought the fans, may I ask which weapon is better? Iron fan or twin fans? Phoen: Maybe I'm just the minority here, but looking from the video, I personally prefer DW6 fans compared to the latest one, and it's including the stance. The only thing that I like from the current fans is the jumping charge and the flying gimmick. |

I'd say for speed Iron fan. I think (not sure though) that the iron fan weapons generally have higher attack power too. Twin fans are more pretty decent though, as twin fan movesets go. It definitely is made with Xiao in mind though. I tried them on Da and it just wasn't the same. |

Thanks for the answer, Phoen. Well if that's the case, I still hope weapon decloning is still applied here, so Xiaoqiao can finally become the official owner of twin fans in Empires with brand new EX attack.

If anything I will be so excited for Xiao to get an EX move. I preferred using Da Qiao in DW7 as opposed to Xiao mainly because of her EX move. The "shoot a giant beam out of your hand!!!" move is just very awkward to position and it makes her stuck for about a second or two after you use the move so its pretty vulnerable. Da's just shockwaves everything around you. It was so useful to use the fan spinning move followed by yet another all-around ranged move. I will love it in the next game(s) when Xiao is back to having twin fans and they change her EX to something more like her old movesets. |

Agree with you Tessen. To me her current EX attack is kinda lackluster. It only useful to charge your musou bar or awakening bar which is not that useful. My wish for now is to see twin fans to be featured as her 2nd EX attack, so when DW8E come and she is really decloned with that DLC weapon, KOEI only have to change her first EX attack. |

Couldn't have said it better myself. Id really love to see her back with the twin fans myself. Suit her much better than one fan imo. But I wanted to try them on da when DLC comes over here...but from looks of it I see what they mean when they say they were made with Xiao in mind but regardless I'm still gonna put them with da too for the nostalgic DW5 feeling

Got the new weapons last night but only got to play with em today while being off with a cold It is nice to have the twin fans back and I like the move set and being able to do its air charge three times but i have to say i am a tad disappointed with its 5th version not having Velocity on it as they are a tad to slow The Blade bow loved it in six felt like it fitted Yueying perfectly with it being nice and graceful which i think she is but also fitting her cleaver mind and mechanical passion and i love this version of it still getting used to having to do its charge attacks as i find em faster then the Ring Blade, my only problem with it is the special arrow you have to nock gets taken when you get hit and as the move to nock it is a bit lame means I am having to run away just to nock the arrow to then attack and its just a bit frustrating But overall worth the money and also means i can finally carry on playing the game stopped ages back so i wouldn't spend 2 days with the fans and then put it aside again |

OK so i got the weapons today and i recently tried them out, my thoughts are Twin Fans: now i used these first but i put them on Dong Zhuo, i must say he has never looked so elegant he should keep the Twin Fans but with all joking aside this weapon falls under the same category as the Great Axe in DW7 as being terrible I was playing on Beginner so i could get a feel of the weapon and i highly doubt I'd be going any further with them outside of using it on a dash character to see how they actually handle.Bladed Crossbow: this is up there as one of the best weapons released so far in the 8 cycle, it probably makes my top 3 with the Rotating Crossbow and Boots, getting a little off topic, with how the move set looks so far it wont fit Ma Yunlu or even Ma Su i think it's the corckscrew somersault that sits at the 3rd-4th string i say this weapon could work on Hua Man (this will be disagreed on by everyone) as i think she could be athletic and quite aerobic, it's nice to see a Dive weapon for a change as there are at least 7 Dive characters out of the 77 in the roster (not counting the Divers in XL), i feel Dive types have been shafted in favor of Dash (Boots, Emei Daggers and Twin Fans) I hope we see a few more Dive weapons in XL's DLC weapon cycle all in all Twin Fans looking to be the worst in the DW8 cycle while the Bladed Crossbow is one of the best |

I like the two new weapons personally. The twin fans are my favourite version of them ever. The ability to do your own air combo with a mix of the normal and charged attacks (Up to three attacks in any order) and finishing with either the dash to the ground or the air switch attack make it a versatile weapon on both land and air. The ground attacks are good too. They're very Xiao in style but not so personalised that they look weird when using someone else. The bladebow is very good too. The only problem I have is getting the timing right with the special charge attacks. Unlike the circle blade where the button presses are at the start of every charge attack, the button presses for the bladebow are at different places in the charge attacks which makes it tricky. I have no trouble with the C4 or C6 but the C2, C3 and C5 I find difficult to do. I've used the C3 about thirty times and only got both special version of the hits to work once. The DW5 Nanman stage is kinda meh though. I mean why the vs Wu one? The vs Shu stage was so much better with the hidden paths and poison swamp. I guess since Shu's story had a Nanman stage they didn't want another Nanman vs Shu stage as DLC but if they wanted a Nanman vs Wu stage why not just do DW4's Nanman vs Wu stage? That stage was awesome. Edited by Wolfbane, Thu Nov 21, 2013 11:57 pm.

I'm happy they went with the Wu one actually. Looking at all the other DLC stages it looks like they really favoured Wei and Shu (Wei especially) by giving them basically all of the DLC battles. Off of the top of my head I can only think of 1 other DLC battle which was Wu-oriented. Sucks tbh, but as always Wu have to be sidelined so DW can be the Shu and Wei show ![]() They kinda owed Wu a stage, that's why I'm guessing they went for that Nanzhong stage rather than the more epic Shu one. |

It's Tetsuo. I'll pass. As for being uncalled for, Trust me.
I noticed this ... I've become pretty good with the Circle Blade now so I thought the Bladebow would be easy to work with but a few of the charges I just cant do to save my life ;/... I think my more confusion though was aimed at how different it was whilst the fans seemed pretty close to it's Dw6 counterpart. In Dw6, didn't it have some kind of green balls shooting out of it? Even if that is a bit silly, I thought they would at least go the route they went in Sw3 with Mori's weapon. A very clunky weapon if you don't learn it well ...

Loving the Bladebow... maybe its because im a bit used to Ding Feng and his annoying new weapon mechanics these days given hes my second character of choice between... well if you dont know that you must be new around here. It aint ideal an approach to a weapon moveset but it for me is unquestionably fun. Didnt really like the Twin Fans personally, moveset is solid enough - no complaints in that sense but it just aint my kinda weapon, actually prefer the Iron Fan personally. |

Okay ive downloaded 2 advanced weapon packs They are pretty tough and they cough up some cool weapons too! ![]() Also if you stick it on beginner it makes a great place to train up otherwise weak characters due to how many enemies there are ![]() Also Wang Yuanji's advanced weapon is soooo fast! |

I just come back from a concert. I know there are some topics dedicated to music, but, I just wanted to say : The first band from this evening was a Taiwanese band, called Chthonic. This band's vocalist (yeah, vocalist ! It's a black metal band, so the term "singer" is not appropriated) came on stage with...an erhu ! So with all these DW6 weapons coming back recently (Cross Hallberds, Twin Fans, Bladed Bow, Sanjiegun, Double edged spear, Wired Claws) , I really hope Ehru will come as DLC in DW8XL. Just so that I can have a character in Empires to call after this vocalist. Can't wait !

What are the last DW6 weapons not in the game yet? Gan Ning's daggers and Dian Wei's ball and chain, Lu Xun's sword? Is that it? (not counting Cao Pi/Sun Jian/Ma Chao's swords...which barely counts, as much as anyone wants it to). I hope we get them. Especially the ball and chain, for as simple and kinda bad that moveset was, I really like using it. Ain;t too bothered about the other two, but they'd be nice as well. And of course some more original weapons. DW7XL had like 6 more DLC weapons, so I would expect DW8XL to do the same. Edited by Mr. Kamikaze, Sat Nov 23, 2013 11:32 pm.

Well, they can always borrow some of the original weapons used in Dynasty Warriors: Online. Those twin cymbals would be great for fans who love whacking foes with musical instruments of death. And speaking of which, it looks like the latest update of Shin Sangoku Musou: Online Z has brought back the old DW4 fifth weapons as well as new ones for the characters introduced in DW5: link |

If there was another weapon arrangement, and with all do respect, I prefer Da Qiao to have twin fans and give the twin wands to Xiao Qiao, not because of ex move. I notice that Xiao Qiao's air musou use somehow of magic and I don't think Da Qiao doesn't have some kind of magic. Other weapons... well, I already give in my thought in idea threat: DLC Weapons assigned. |
