@Twin Dao yep bro they would have to be stronger and I imagine Quan with a dirty moveset lol. I guess the Zhang Liao scene did that for me. But more brawler-esque with some flashiness to it, just a lil though.

@Bow We definitely need a new bow set. It needs to be able to shoot on the move. I also agree that if he went back to the Sword and Bow set, that it may be a plus for him. If they aren't able to come of with something better with the stand alone bow. Which I'm sure they could pull off... But yeah... This thing is definitely old news.

ROTK XII costumes are a must. Let's be honest, the most recent character designs/costumes have been getting very basic and bland. If you take a look back at DW3, there was a lot less emphasis on color coordination. In fact, look at Zhang Fei's, most of his outfit was red, not green. Now you look at DW8's costumes and the entire force the character is associated with is mainly just one color. Shu = Green, etc...on top of that, most of the designs of the costumes all look very similar too. I think addition of ROTK XII costumes for *everyone* will add much more character to the game.

I agree with you... Not for the reason's stated. Honestly speaking, a lot of the ROTK stuff looks similar as well. I would like to see things go back to more diverse colors among the kingdoms... I don't mind if it doesn't though.

ROTK for all the characters would be a plus in giving the game a different look. Anyway, hope they make it in!

Well, the ROTK costumes would in fact give it more diverse colors, that was somewhat of the point.

Yeah I got that part and that's where I agreed with you. lol.. We have varying opinions on the current look of the characters and that's where we differ. I'll leave it at that.

Oh god, not the sword and bow thing again.... We had that back in Ps2 era and it's crap. Now we also are having it in the form of Xiahou Yuan and it's still as much of BS

I don't think sword and bow is necessary since Xiahou Yuan kinda got his weapon back with rod and bow. They wanted to make Xiahou Yuan a badass by making a rod into bow.

Huang Zhong is the master of the bow, so I don't think its need.

Twin Sword for Quan: Uh... I guess that work, but I think it's better with just a sword. You can use as the skin for Liu Bei instead.

Lol... Can't win em all I suppose. I see where you come from, that moveset is definitely dated. If it got a nice upgrade, I think it would be cool. Maybe not? It's all about how they handle. I'll hold my judgement on Xiahou Yuan's until I actually use it though, I will agree that something seems off with it for now.

As I said before though, if Koei could create a set for the bow where you could shoot on the move... While giving Huang Zhong charge attacks and a S-string that suits him... Then I think we would have a better bow. The bow as it stands could go to the generics.

^^^lol definitely . That would be pretty sweet if you could use the bow on the run. I donno about having a twin dao skin for Liu Bei's sword... two different weapons my friend lol. It doesn't really matter to me what Quan gets as long as he gets rid of that Dao moveset lol

@Sun Bai Hu I know that weapon skin was dlc for the Twin Swords, but that's not what I'm aiming for. Those skins are actually Twin Dao's and could be moved and used with a completely different moveset. S-string and all. As Lu Tzu said.. 2 completely different weapons. Liu Bei wields Twin Jians actually.

@Lu Tzu I swear it would be all kinds of fun if they did it right! :D And same as you, It doesn't really bother me what Quan gets. He just needs something more worthy of him than the Dao. Don't get me wrong... I like the Dao, it was very easy to combo with it and all... Just think it needs to move on elsewhere.

Alright then, if there is two dao consider part of new weapon, then I'm good. Suitable characters or dlc will work either way. I wouldn't surprise if it's Lu Lingqi or Chen Gong.

The twin Daos wouldn't be hard for them to make as a DLC either since they have already been made in DW6 strikeforce or somthing, I think I posted something about them a few pages back i can't remember lol

I like the diversity among weapons. You basically are asking for yet another sword moveset. Pulling the bow out for charge attacks would basically is just a shell, even now they hyped us with the rod bow. Most of us here are very disappointed with how they carry that weapon out.

I wouldn't ask for duel welding weapons personally since Koei handle them very very bad. There aren't much DW movesets offer so it's better to keep it well composed for each moveset and mix it up with weapon switch.

I really hope they share with us some DLC before the game releases, will give us a taste for what to expect throughout the whole DLC supporting of the game.

At least we knows weapons are in, but apart from that we dont know anything else.

Indeed you did my friend.. I'll have to have a look at the gameplay of it and see how it stacks. It may need tweaks for Quan.

Averryy We're right there with ya bud. Hopefully soon we get answers.

This is what I'm hoping for. If we get at least information on one returning weapon before they release the game I'll be happy lol, that way we can but these doubts about them not adding weapon DLC behind us

Personally now thinking about it, I am really against them bringing back old stages as DLC, we've used the same stages in 2 games already with many more being DLC in DW7... I would much rather see koei give us brand new stages as DLC, its more of a surprise and unexpected.

I guess the same goes with costumes, I would rather see new ones then old...again the same reasons as the stages.

In my opinion, old costumes should be available on the disc.
And it seems that old stages do not fit the new DW8 stages formula.

I'd like them to make some more What If as DLC.
What If are not needed to understand the story,
so people won't think they are missing something if they don't buy the DLC.
(just like what Ubisoft is doing with the upcoming AC3 DLC : a side story)

I really would like a dlc for Quan as others have mentioned, especially since the dao moveset fit him less than it did Zhao or his father even. Am I the only one who could see him without a sword, but maybe like a blunt force weapon? Something more akin to Huang Gai's previous style, like a one handed rod that's not as thick as Taishi Ci's, something like a baseball bat he could just whip around and smack people with. Of course it would have its own Sun Quan design flare/moveset oddness, could be red and black and have plenty of fire moves in his musou/ex.

Zhuge Dan's new weapon is basically that weapon you described.
Sun Quan's new weapon can easily taken from his WO3 sword moveset or DW6 pronged sword

The thing about the Sun Quan is pretty much all the leaders have some type of sword as a weapon.... Sun Jian, Cao Cao, Cao Pi, Liu Bei, Liu Shan, Sima Shi, Sima Zhao, Yuan Shao lol Sun Ce is the only one. Like I said before it really doesnt matter to me what moveset he gets as long as the Dao is gone, I just think they will stay in the sword area.

I'd be down with him getting a blunt weapon I guess. Would be a different feel for him, although they do tend to have the rulers with swords. Which is why I try to keep my suggestions formed to that mold with him. I have indeed thought about this though, and it very well could set quan apart from the rulers.

I've also thought that they could give him a Dao type that he wields two handed for his S-string, but one handed with his charge attacks. Also as far as Dao's go... We don't have anyone that Reverse grips them yet.

Xu Shu is our only reverse sword grip guy but his fencing sword is dual sided and is just a regular Jian. Can't deny his skill though.

Quan will end up fighting like Dante from dmc. Watch.. :sly: lol..

If theres one weapon they don't have in the game its a one-handed mace. Also like the morning star you got there. Since we are on blunt objects maybe a scepter could fit him.

Definitely a rulers choice If quan doesn't use it then maybe an "emperor" so to speak. Yuan Shu? lol Good Show... Whatever Quan ends up with, I'm sure it will be leagues better than the Dao.
