This mode is definitely hard to call with dlc. I know it will get something... Though at what scale? Remains to be seen. Where it seemed they told all, to me they created more questions... Glad it wont be long for the answers.

Well I posted it in the main thread, but I'll post it here too since ZZG mentioned DLC relationship between 7 & 8. 1. Costumes: Old and new ones 2. Weapons: old and new ones 3. BGMs 4. Stages: old (hopefully new ones too) I hope koei thinks a bit more out of the box this time around! That's just how I think DLC might pan out again. |

Well I guess we know the main just of how DLC will work after seeing DW7 get supported by it, all we don't know is how they will support commander mode because we don't really know how it plays. Obviously we have the information about it but we have yet to see it in action. He'll am I paying for old costumes again.. |

Its good news isnt it, at least we can expect what Koei are going to do with DLC in this game from seeing how DW7 was supported. Although, I for one just hope that Koei dont focus too much of their time on old stages and costumes, Id rather see them put more effort into new stuff! Give us inexpected stages and surprise us with new costumes. I think we will apprichiate new stuff more IMO. |

Old weapons... not really much left. From 6 ans special it`s crescent halberd, bladebow, twin daggers, dirk and I don`t remember what else. From early games it`s usual trident, pirate sword, sage sword, twin pikes... don`t care about pre-DW6 weapon, but trident (spear movesets) could be back. From DW6 I hope on halberd, bladebow and twin daggers. Considering there will be both old and new weapons I will suppose Koei made 6 new weapon dlc types divided it on half-new and half-old. |

I have always wanted the return of the bladebow, I think its a better idea then the boring crossbow. I think its suited for a woman so we'll see who joins the cast in DW8XL to wield the bladebow! |

Whilst its nice to see Koei support the game with DLC im already dreading what will happen with it - it started off fine and all but the end of the DLC run the prices were beyond ridiculous and anyone who invested in backgrounds or costumes would easily have matched the price they paid for the disc with the price they paid for cosmetic features.... its their money yeah but mass buying cosmetic features at that price encourages Koei to do the same in DW8 - which they will. Ill grab the stages and any weapon related DLC - that will be it for me this time. |

Old weapons as DLCs? Yes! This is such great news! Now I'm hoping for the meteor hammer, martial arts and probably monk's spade to make a debut.

Who doesn't want a martial arts weapon? It's a huge part of the Chinese culture so of course I wanted it for a long time now. I'm glad someone else like ZeeZeeGoo is so passionate about wanting the martial arts to be in DW. |

ugh, koei looks to be going down capcom's path with all this pre release DLC. A shame. I didn't mind the DLC with DW7 because it was post release and I presume they had to spend extra resources on making it but this seems strategy of cutting parts from the game in development and adding it as "dlc" is really getting on my nerves. |

They did the same thing with DW7, they announced some DLC weapons even before the game had released, but they didnt arrive for a few weeks afterwards I believe. I dont think Koei are nearly as bad as some comapanies who depend on DLC to continue the life of their games; Activision, they release massive map packs all the time... Koei just need to be careful with what they release, no one wants to pay for something twice. |

If I remember right they annouced the dagger-axe as DLC prior to the release of dynasty warriors 7... which I'm fine with that, gives us a hint with what to look forward too.. And I agree they need to watch what they do with these people having to buy the same thing twice. But I'm gonna call it and say they announce the twin fans and maybe a new weapon as dlc soon |

It's fine they announce the dlc weapons on the week of the release since their project should be done around two or one week before the release. After the dlc announcement, it takes about 2-3 weeks to design, the execution of the attack, the coding of the attack, and the stats for both offense and levels. So I don't blame them, but it's understandable if it takes that long. |

Yeah I hope to hear of an announcement of DLC weapon(s) in a few weeks, I doubt now we will hear anything no unless its on release day. Weapons I think will be the first thing they support DW8 with, just gotta play the waiting game! |

I know you've seem a few people in the main thread complaining about weapon DLC Averryy... I don't get why people are against them even if the weapon doesn't have an EX owner...its not like they have to download them and its not like they can't be given to new characters or saved for CAW purposes...ehh some people just irk me lol |

Maybe. I don't like to complain, but there is few that might not work well to certain characters, which that's why people complain. Gan Ning was one, then Xiao Qiao, then Zhou Yu... you get the idea. I only have issue with Xiao, but others is good. |

There are just some people who think its content that should have been on the disc on release, or the fact that all characters are decloned they don't need DLC weapons. However, I understand there are people who dislike the idea of DLC altogether not just the weapons, but they're not forced to buy it and shouldn't say DLC shouldn't support DW8 as all the people who have discussed DLC in this topic like it in some way shape or form or just wouldn't comment. In 7 weapons brought the most replay value for me personally, I'm glad koei are bringing it back for 8, there's so much they can do now since they're not focusing the DLC weapons on decloning characters, koei have a free card in a sense to bring out what ever DLC weapons they want with no restrictions or boundaries. |

Well most games do this even call of duty BO2, they release weapons now in their games for dlc so its no less for other games to do so too lol And them not having character restrictions on the weapons they make kinda gets me excited on what they will come up with lol but like you said now its the waiting game Edited by Lu Tzu, Sun Feb 17, 2013 1:44 am.
