well considering the fact all of the models fot the characters in DW8 were re-made from the ground up, that would mean they would have to do the same with all the older costumes as well. there is also the whole, clothing can get dirty and stained from battle thing.

so that means all the older outfit models not only have to be re-made, but also have to be made compatible with this feature. So its not like were getting the same costume data, just made compatible with a new game. They have to remake everything. So i imagine to make it so the game releases on time, they are saving the costumes to be DLC.

and besides, costumes based on past games have always been cheap. in DW7 the DW6-4 costume sets were all only $2.99, only three dollars for costume sets per kingdom. Chances are since many of the costume sets were getting will be cheap since they are returning costumes, and not completely new ones.

chances are we wont be paying $4.99 - $5.99 till we start seeing costumes that are completely new.

Its great how strongly we agree with the whole costumes DLC situation, I never usually buy DLC costumes, but in DW7 I bought the DW6 costumes because the majority of them I liked. I wont pay for it again now matter how much I like it.

I too would like to see some of the concept costumes of characters be released as DLC, would be funny to see what Yue Ying could have looked like if they didnt pick this great costume for her.

All im really interested in DLC wise is weapons and stages...possibly new costumes.

Well, they're still the same old costumes in the end. The fact that they can now be 'dirty' changes nothing for me. Great for people who want them though, but I'd prefer completely new costumes. They can do it, proof with 7:XL and the Fantasy outfits. Or as I said, there's always the concept art.

Since i'm planning to buy the JP version for this game, i think the DLC costumes from DW7 to DW4 will remain free for this version. And also i think i'm the minority here who didn't mind with the DLC school and fairy tale outfits, i hope there'll be more outfits like this coming in the future. And right now i'm wishing for swimsuit DLC for both males and females like in DOA5.

You too? Sun Ce in a swimsuit.

But yeah, agreed. I'd like to have a new themed costumes pack. We've already had School and Fairy Tales costumes, and if they make a new theme of outfits for DW8, swimsuit would make the most sense. We've already had that (more or less) with the Summer costumes of Pang De, Guo Jia and Wang Yi, but... they should be even less clothed, especially for male characters. :innocent:

Considering that the DW males have no nipples, a swimsuit DLC would be a bit odd. I'm hoping they will include some of the past costumes already on the disc since they charged for them in DW7. I really am not keen on prospect of purchasing packs that I've already purchased again. At least, I want some of them to look better than they did in DW7. Lu Xun and Zhou Yu's DW4 costumes are lovely but look terrible in DW7. Lu Xun looks like he's wearing clothes that are far too big on him and Zhou Yu's robe is too bulky and the cuff is rendered very weirdly.

I would be very keen if they released some more character stories and the like as DLC.

Stop it, Yue Chan.
Yeah, Sun Ce comes in my mind first everytime i think about swimsuit DLC or something similar like that. And it would be a first day buy for me if they release that DLC.

Astie: Yeah you're right. The lack of nipples for male characters are kinda disturbing for me, but maybe they could implement that along with the swimsuit DLC? hahaha i seriously need to stop talking about this.

Yeah I really hope that if they're going to be bringing previous costumes back into this game, but saying this I'llonly be happy if it comes in one of two ways;

1. Free DLC after the Games launch
2. Included on the disc.

If not Ill just wait and see if any new costumes tickle my fancy, but costumes arent really a big deal for me. So it'll have to be a real eye opener for me to purchase costumes.

Cant they just re-use the DLC youve already purchased... the graphic overhaul surely isnt enough to stop them working - still there is always somebody willing to buy the same costumes over and over so i guess that would be a no.

Would i buy the old costumes again - maybe if the price was reasonable... they did it right with initial batches for say WO3 where the DW4 costumes would be free in japan and cheap across the globe but when your talking about expensive costume batches for each kingdom again it gets too pricey all in all.

Fantasy themed or School themed or Strikeforce - none fit the theme of the game... its funny to see Captain Hook and Peter Pan in a cutscene yeah but the next batch i want is something more fitting the era and the characters because with the likes of the school costumes i didnt even get the laugh which the original costumes offered.

To be honest them saying the costumes from DW7 not being compatible with DW8 is utter bull...they said themselves DW8 was built upon the engine of DW7, which is why its not taken so long for it to come out straight after 7Empires.

Im sure its not too difficult for them to apply the changes such as dirt to those costumes? Just an excuse for them to release it again as DLC and charge us a third time for it.

I'm not sure if they are telling truth or not, but either way, it's one way we can find out.

Costume is probably might one the challenging to update to graphic. Could it be true? It depends on their choice. But Weapons and other stages shouldn't be the problem since some are scratch and some are just to update and cleaning up the design.

The costumes graphics were already upgraded and put in HD for DW7 and its engine, Koei said that DW8s engine was based on the same one as DW7, therefore it shouldnt be a problem for them to be compatible, with a few changes of course. But, that doesnt mean we shoul have to pay full price for them once again.

I know you dont have to buy it, its DLC I get it. But, no one wants to buy the same thing twice do they? No matter what it is.

My ideas :

- Scythe
- Joan of arc enchanted spear
- Achille moveset
- Unique Strikeforce moveset explain above
- Ancient saber for Zhou Yu
- Nu wa Moveset

I think it has to do with KOEI stating that they redid the models from scratch for DW8.

I would be up for seeing swim suits for the female characters, but I think it would look strange on the ones who are more covered up; Xiao Qiao, Da Qiao & Cai Wenji.

But it wouldnt stop me from buying a pack.

Id like to see more chinese related outfits from the time, some themed costumes were fun, but Id rather see some more serious costumes this time around.

I just want the characters to actually fit the time period, there are some who are close to what Chinese warriors would have worn, but you can see easily there is a western influence on what the characters wear. I get that Koei needs to make the characters appealing, therefore authentic costumes might not be the best way to show the characters.

But, they could at least provide costumes via DLC to what the people of the time would have actually been wearing in one way or another.

I see what your saying. I would like to see some costume DLC that fit more for their time period.

Check out a movie called "The Lost Bladesman" It features Donnie Yen playing Guan Yu, you can find it on youtube with english subs. It has examples of modern armor for their time period. Something I would like to see as DLC

Yeah I had a quick glance, thats the sort of outfits Id like to see them release as DLC, if they were all fitting towards the actual time period Id be more then happy to hand over my money to Koei corp.

On another note, I really, really, really hope that joke weapons do not return at all in the 8 era, they were just annoying and rather stupid for me personally. Koei should just be more serious with the DLC, its funny now and again but when its ever present its just annoying.

I only wish that dlc costume is animal theme based on kingdom. Tiger for Wu, Phoenix of Wei, Dragon for Shu, and Kirin for Jin. I will like to see it, but I can dream about it. :P

For the joke weapons do you mean the skins they made? Like Wang Yi's sais had a candle holder skin?

@Sun Bai Hu thats a good idea, but like for Shu they have 21 charaters...do you think it would be hard for them to come up with 21 different dragon themed costumes? I donno but its possible

Yeah I meant the skins, they were just annoying and I didnt find them in any way funny or enjoyable. If they were going to bring more skins out for already existing weapons, Im all for it, aslong as they're serious weapon skins that'll be good.

Never got the point of those weapons skins either, to me it just seemed like a waste of their time when they could have put more effort into something better. I didn't spend a penny on those lol. They could really make some cool skins though if they did that then they could take my money
