I knew that DLC stages would be coming, has it been said where we can play the stage? I'm just gunna guess free mode and commander mode.

No weapon DLC? I'm sure they'll sort us out in April!

At the moment we have been shown a DLC stage from a previous game, DW4 I believe.

But, there is nothing to stop Koei from making brand new stages and releasing them as DLC, we just have to wait a little while longer.

Ah they're just saving the best for last :hehe: That or they'll wait to do weapons with XL. Time will tell... Either way, I'm sure what we have will be enjoyable for a bit. Still.. A man can dream.

I never saw this until today... Not sure if this has been posted.. But here is a better look at Jump Zhang Bao. Enjoy. :sly:

Thanks Bryll, that picture is a lot clearer and less of a blur. To me it seems rather strange, the other collab costumes have kept the characters respective kingdom colour. Zhao Yun = 7UP & Yinping = Famitsu.

Its still a good costume none the less, just would have thought they'd have picked a Wu warriors to wear it, of course it wouldnt really have suited any of Wu's newbies.

You have a point. I think it would have been cool to give Han Dang a similar color scheme. All in all, the guy looks cool in red. If I should say so myself.. :hehe:

I think the 7UP outfit looks really weird, I mean like its too green! If that makes any sense to anyone? Too lime coloured for my liking, would have been better if it wasnt as green! That makes no sense haha

Im gussing next time Koei might have a Lilt costumes for DW9 and Yuan Shao can wear it? haha

I'm glad they finally realized that their consumers don't like buying the exact same DLC over and over again. I imagine they'll charge for some of the old stuff, but having some of it already on the disc or free later on is a good sign. Is this game compatible with 7 DLC (costumes, music, etc.)?

It was confirmed that DLC purchased in DW7 will not be compatible with DW8, something about the upgrade in graphics I think?

I'm sure there are some costumes from previous games included already, think I read some where, not 100% sure though.

Koei knows people will buy costumes again and again, so they'll just continue it.

Jun Miyauchi, the director, says that the team used a new game engine for this title which utilizes deferred lighting and required all of the character models to be remade from scratch. He believes the multiple lighting system adds a realistic touch which is fitting for the game's genre and closer-to-history story. Both developers have stated that if this game's presentation has reached their personal standards of perfection, it will be used for future titles.

Its been confirmed by some people that DW7 designs are already in game so thats a plus.

I hope there are some unlockable costumes besides the obvious palette swaps (as always, it will go without saying that there are palette swaps). Even if its just (sigh) DW7 costumes unlockable it will be something, because we at least have a choice for every character of a costume we prefer. Although having said that I am very impressed with the vast majority of DW8 default costumes, Koei have really done well on this one, so much better than DW7.

I agree with what everyone has been saying about not wanting to buy past (DW3-6) costumes yet again... I hope Koei either makes it a free dlc or includes it already, its only fair after we've payed twice already (DW7/XL and WO3). I'm not getting the past costumes if they're not free.

As for new costume dlcs, I would be great to see the following costume sets;
-ROTK for all characters
-Kessen 2
-DW2 (I know many characters look the same as DW3 but it could just be for characters who looked very different like SSX)

More original costumes would also be good, but I DO NOT want to see the same "each kingdoms costumes sold separately" that DW7 had. At £4 per kingdom in DW7 I did not (and never will) buy the original costumes, its a rip-off. I said it earlier, but I think it would be a good idea to go for a modern theme again, but more causal rather than school style this time.

Stages I'm not so bothered about, as long as all of the stages in DW8 already are new battlefields and not just recycled from DW6 AGAIN. I liked the idea in DW7 of re-mastering old battles from the PS2 days, but there can only be so much of that before we've seen it all and the novelty wears off.

As for weapons, I'm not sure about new ones but I'd be all for bringing back some older ones with updated movesets;
-Zhou Yu's elder sword
-Xiaoqiao's Twin fans
-Yueying's bowgun
several others

True, although I don't think it matters that much. Not all characters were in DW3 but they made a DW3 costume pack, so there is hope :)
They could just make up some costumes for the new characters to be included in the DLC packs, along the lines of what they did in WOZ when DW6 costumes were made up for the seven characters that were axed in DW6. I didn't like how there were hardly any dlc outfits for the newbies in DW7, kinda sucked.

Its all post content though - anything they make after release is going to have to at least pay for itself... four quid a pack is high costing in regards to something so cosmetic but its actually the going price, i dont mind personally - as long as like last time the juicy replayable content like weapons and stages come cheaper and the cosmetics come more expensive i win either way.

Will admit i did buy some cossies last time but wont this time... doing so on xbox meant they remained only usable for that one game - if i went PS3 i would have had them run for three games, that means four quid per pack is actually awesome value for money all things considered and makes me wonder if they will do the same again this time. Fair to say im gonna go PS3 for DW8 just in case should they release it in the west (and they damned well better)

I apologise if this has been asked before.

Is the costume download code (Zhao Yun + SSX) not working for anyone? It's not working for me.

Do I have to get a Japan PSN account so that the download code works or can I just input the download code using my normal PSN account.

Edit -> Answered my own question. Yeap you need to key the code in your Japan PSN.

If its for 3 games then its not so bad, good point.
But the main issue was that it wasn't just £4 for EVERY character's "school" original costume, it was £4 for each separate kingdom (albeit with Jin and others combined) which meant that it was £16 for the whole set and then another £16 for the second original costume set (the fairy tale ones). £32 in total, which is about the cost of the original game, so far too much for dlc and especially, as you put it, just the cosmetic stuff. Still if people are willing to pay for it Koei will do it, I'm just saying I'm definitely not interested at that price.

So what Im saying is right then.

Its funny that they were able to put some of the costumes that were in DW7, straight into DW8. Seems like they must have altered them to fit with this new engine, dont see why they didnt do it with all the costumes. Wait, yes I do know, money of course...

Be nice to see a list of what costumes were included, then we can take a stab at what will come as DLC.

I heard somewhere the costumes from past games are already in the game. Not the old DLC costumes like the fantasy and school outfits. If they're going to add those old dlc, I hope we could buy them as a pack. But I'm hoping there's going to be new ones. What I'm predicting for future DLC are the summer costumes (for fanservice), and... other fanservice-y stuff since there's a lot of fanservice lately.

What I want though are modern costumes, not those "school stuff". I want to see them with modern clothing. Of course I also want the summer clothes. I mean, who doesn't want topless Dynasty Warriors hunks? ROTK costumes are also in my wanted list.

Actually, screw costumes. I just want a meteor hammer! :XD

Modern clothes without a set theme would be amazing, they could tailor every character's modern image to what their personality is like, for example giving Lu Bu a modern stereotypically tough appearance and Xiaoqiao something bright (I'd love a raver look for Xiaoqiao actually, It would look good, bright clubbing clothes with big DJ headphones on).

Summer clothes could be a more comical option so it could be funny, I bet there will be some OTT Hawaiian shirts though, oh dear...

Summer clothes would be a LOT better if it was like the Summer clothes for the DW7XL cast...i think that's a pretty good dlc for the whole DW8 cast..
