The helmets/hats/turbans gotta go for some of these guys.

For Zhang Liao? Uh...maybe. Look at his fairy tale DLC, you can see his hair, it looks kind of strange, iirc, I have to look at it again.

It would be strange to see some of those guys without headgear on, especially Xu Huang, it just wouldn't be right. And I can't begin to imagine what they'd do for Pang Tong for "beach" attire.

That's exactly what it reminds me of, glad someone else knows about zatanna and although its the old classic female uniform I'm sure it was still inspired from zatanna.

No point in giving the men shirtless costumes if they don't even have nipples :hmph:
Shame though, Susanoo had them in WO3. Koei could easily give the DW8 Males nipples seeing how they gave most the Females boob enhancements.
:goodpost:

I think they should start to implement the nipples exclusively for those characters who will be shirtless in this DLC costumes. So it won't look too odd when we see their precious bodies. :shifty:

And also i demand Zhang Bao and Yue Jin to be shirtless.

Imagine if Cai Wenji had that "Assist Cao Cao's retreat at Chibi" idea that everyone was spreading, in that outfit! Lol, Cao Cao would make an easy retreat there :P

Btw, who's gonna be the Playboy Bunny? Bao Sanniang?
:XD I'm having a scene in mind, where the Shu guys including Guan Yu sitting in front of her with big wondering eyes and loud "OOOOOOOH"s out of their mouths while she does some tricks and Cao Cao sneaking away in the background.

And playboy bunny is so written on Lianshi  .
I'd love for Lianshi to get it or Diaochan would be my first choice for bunny costume. Zhurong would work as well but I don't want them to waste it on Bao Sanniang but I wouldn't complain if she got it over no one having it. She'd still look great in it especially since its DW8 Bao and not DW7 look of her.

 Favorite for her so far. Love it as much as her School Girl Costume from DW7. It isn't too revealing. It's those legs.
Yes its the legs  No wonder she always tries to keep them hidden, they're a lethal weapon.

Nothing has been said but i agree, even though i also think its not needed to see more weapons in the game as DLC. Especially if they retain the recent trend of making DLC weapons = new characters Ex weapons. They would help push more attention on any XL release if youve NOT been playing the new movesets several months in advance to death already.

Costumes, BGM, Old Stages and Background screens... all relatively cost effective to make and will maximize takings from DLC given how much they generally charge for them. Im thinking that perhaps Koei will see them as being sufficient enough unless like DW7 round 1 DLC they find that was already too much demand that they just had to bite the apple and come back and release even more well into the games life cycle.

Yeah, I'm waiting on the "real" DLC to arrive before I spent my reserved yen on this game. All these costumes are useless junk to me, but I will admit that the old BGM is a welcome addition.

Everyone being decloned shouldn't be a reason to stop doing weapon DLC, especially since they can just assign them to new characters later on. Sure, we'd miss out on EX attacks and Musous, but that's nothing that couldn't be fixed at a later date. The first paid DLC stages were great fun, so I'd like to see more of those. I'd just like them to support this game with substantial content that offsets the monotony and massive grind instead of costumes that are fun for an hour and then completely useless after that.

Honestly how does costumes not count as real DLC. Isn't that subjective as anything can be considered worthless junk if one doesn't like it. Honestly stages and costumes are the only things many people consider real DLC in most games. Weapons would work better if this game had any real difficulty that would make you need them or a vs mode of some sort. Point is any of the DLC can be useless even the music as it depends on the individual wants that makes it worth it. They wouldn't be making this DLC if people wasn't buying it so take up useless DLC to the fans.

Costumes don't add more content or extend the life of the game, so I don't consider them real DLC. Sure, they may break up the monotony of the game for some people which could be considered as extending its life, but there are plenty of people like myself who prefer actual content instead.

^This.

DW isn't the only game series that prioritize costumes over added gameplay. Its' just fun stuff. What's the point of new weapons now that everyone is decloned? Weapons are now useless to me. Costumes I find are fun to look at and interesting in the way they interpret the characters. Would I buy it? No. But I also don't buy stages that don't really add anything new either.

The only thing that I guess would be considered "real" DLC is if they added missing stages to the story with fresh dialogue and story context. Otherwise, whatever. No one's saying you should buy it, so why complain.

Just wait for XL for the "real" added game elements.

Also...Downloadable Content...the costumes, are by definition DLC. So...it is real DLC. You may not like it...but it is DLC...this is fact, no one is making it up.

It's like saying you don't consider an Orange a fruit, cause you don't like how they taste.

Agreed, I think wang yuanji moveset would work well on her. I don't think any other outfit will top hers personally. Well Cai Wenji is a contender for best legs now

 I would so love if they could let us change PC's movesets like that in Empires.

There may be a couple that some of the more endowed Females may get, but I will stick with my dear Cai Wenji.

Some of us want cosmetic additions and others want gameplay extending additions... no one is right or wrong but your gonna find Koei favours the former over the latter because of the sheer lack of effort it takes to make content for them... i mean you could quite happily assign most of the team onto other projects whilst still making a decent level of cosmetic DLC.

Funny thing is despite being more for the gameplay additions like Tetsuo i find it awesome yet strange the pricing usually favours us. I mean were all honestly expecting again around 400MSP a kingdom for those new costumes, that means costume collectors are once more gonna spend half the price of disc release just to make everyone look different for as long as the novelty remains fresh for them... then they will release more and before you know it you could have bought the game twice but everyone will have two costumes different from what they started with and by then your likely already fed up of playing the game.

Still i suppose i would take more compromise DLC at least - weve a stage pack for gameplay purposes and thats about it so far, in fact that IS it. A weapon skin pack would be nice... better base stats and some actually valid skills on them for the characters in question would be a worthy purchase giving gameplay fans some real meat to play the game with whilst giving cosmetic fans something different to look at potentially even tying in wit their original costume DLC designs perhaps like Koei did with DW7 though im personally hoping to have seen the last of joke weapon skins personally.

I REALLY hope there's weapon dlc!!
You know what I mean, if you know what i want...
Weapon can serve as a filler for those who bored with the gameplay of 77 characters and want something new..who cares if all of them already decloned, but now we already played all of them...we get nothing new...and since there are some characters who still shares it with generic..i think we might see it..

Martial arts right? :sly:

Looking forward to DLC weapons as well. Overpowered as they are, it's fun to see all these interesting weapons Koei make. Heck, they can even make something non-lethal into a deadly weapon as well (looking at you, 'arm blade' :shifty: )

for me, additonal costumes add replay value for me. Over time I get tired of a characters physical appearance so i need somehting different to help refresh them for me. Also for some characters i prefer designs from past games over their current.

and on the topic of weapon DLC, i agree they should continue releasing them. Not only new weapons, but id also love to see past weapons return. Yueying Bladebow, Meng Huos stone pillar, Xiang Yu's Dual Dao, Zhou Muwangs Tri-blade gauntlets, Joan of Arcs Enchanted Spear, Nezhas magic rings. all of those would make awesome additions.

I find new weapons (movesets) quite unnecessary at this point. For reasons already spoken out. A possible new DLC-weapon would most probably be assigned to a future new character, and thus ruining a bit hype for that character.
Besides, we have gotten a big amount of new weapons in DW8. That's enough for me.

You could argue that all DLC is unnecessary though. I mean, it's basically extra content for those who want more out of the game.

With that said, some of these arguments on both sides of the dlc weapons debate are piss poor imo.

Using the 'but some characters share the same weapon type as generics' excuse makes me cackle because it seems like such a lame excuse, while the 'everyone already has their own weapon type so why add more?' excuse can be counter-acted with a tonne of hacknslash games (Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Rising, DMC, Bayonetta, etc).

Costumes are so boring to me, I don't really take notice of what characters are wearing unless I don't like what they're wearing. Only DLC I'm interested in is weapons and stages. I usually find a certain BGM already in the game I'll listen to over and over so new BGMs aren't my cuppa tea.

But whether or not I'll buy it, I'm still happy koei support their games after the release with DLC, they've arrived in the 21st century lol
