Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that they give Zhenji, who is like a walking sex pun, a nurse outfit and then make it rather non-sexy, she looks like a normal nurse (with a over sized flute of course)
She picked the wrong time to ignore her jealous impulses :hmph:

Tbh i dont think zhenji's outfit is terrible those shoes are ok to me too. Well she is a nurse and a nurse outfit is usually plain white...
The outfit isn't terrible at all, it just shouldn't have been on zhen Ji. Either way I think that may be what they were going for a none sexy costume just like cai wenji has an sexy costume we'd never expected.

Well, I must say that they have a good sense of Irony. Even, if I don't know why it's ironic. :?:
But, since I'm here, I really hope they do something about that thing that I forgot all about which is why I'm still typing trying to figure it out...

You think so - personally im just astonished she wasnt a dominatrix... shes seems the kind of woman who knows shes hot but certainly doesnt advocate anyone staring - heck its been a long running series joke that she isnt too impressed with Cao Pi's initial attempts to woo her on the battlefield.

If they were to do a proper sexier naughtier nurse then it really should be Diao Chan... shes supposed to be the got in and flaunt it sex object of the series, hell her role in the story is to be a sex object men just cant get out of their heads. As such im ok with Zhenji being a nurse who is more likely to be an angel of death/mercy than a ann summers catalogue model nurse haha.

Zhen looks really strange in her DLC costumes, doesnt show her figure at all. I never really care for costumes but wow didnt they do one over on her this time around. I find the modern costumes really boring, Id rather see some traditional costumes released as DLC..

i agree some decent normal costumes would be great so i can change up the costumes I'm not too happy with, plus some special costumes like the new guys got in 7XL for the new characters

I think it was the fantasy costumes for the new characters in 7? They were done really well and some of them even better then default costumes, Id be more then happy to buy costumes like that if they released some like that again, but for all costumes.

Just had a dreadful thought that the blaze blade might Ma Chao's giant butterknife from 6 Special/Empires. I don't mind the weapon and the moveset that could be made out of it, so long as they don't try and shoehorn it back onto Ma Chao for 8 Empires....it just never really felt like it fit Ma Chao at all from a character standpoint.

Guan Punk on the other hand....

Another great sword to replace his current great sword?

Seems weird...

But honestly...it does seem like something they'd do...

Still, that would mean the current Great Sword would need to go to someone, possibly. I just can't see Koei trying to declone all those characters who share weapons with generics...tossing those weapons out just doesn't seem like a good idea or anything they would do. They would just refashion it and give it to someone else...like the Flail.

Not to mention, the throwing knives are a pretty unique weapon for the playable cast (forget the fact that generics use them for a moment). Why would they ditch that weapon, which none of the other characters have?

I think he ment the Zanbato, not great sword. I like Zanbato more than Great Sword, but I'm not sure that its going to be added. That looks better with Guan Ping, not to disrespect other people.

Well he did say Ma Chao's sword from DW6, so that's what I was going with. A zanbato would be awesome and i'd be all for it. But i still think replacing Ping's Great sword would be pointless unless his current one went to someone else. And if it went to a new character...that'd be incredibly cheap.

I'd rather these DLC weapons just go to new characters in future games.

@Kamikaze: Ping's great sword..IMO should be replaced with zanbato. The great sword can go ala Fu Xi in DW4-5, for CaW only. The same with those who cloned with generic...except maybe Yuanji. But if she got a new moveset but almost the same weapon(Just like Zhao yun's dragon spear, in this case throwing knives becomes "darts" for example) then i dont mind.

Aiya.

The Zanbatou is the great sword. The great sword in DW from Guan Ping's in 5 to the variation that exists now has always been called been called a Zanbatou in the Japanese version. Zhanmadao if you want to be mandaring about it.

The great sword translation is just Koei's less than stellar genericized translation for it.

On this topic, why is it that people think that movesets would be dropped? It's not the PS2 era where the only missing movesets were Fu Xi's great sword, which is a more accurate translation versus Guan Ping's sword, and Nu Wa's rapier. Zuo Ci's doesn't count either because of how radically different DW6 was and DW7 being a play catch up game.

There's no reason for them to drop movesets out of the game at this point with their weapon switching nonsense which only works to it's full potential when you have more options and a sufficient sub system to supplement it. The latter of which still hasn't been realized, despite Strikeforce having done it already.

They can totally just leave discarded weapons in future games. It doesn't hurt anyone unless you get really personal about someone who was reassigned a moveset. In all likelihood a situation as such would only remove the EX attack, of which many are still unspectacular and don't add much. Xiahou Ba of course is an exception.

Daosiying. I guess works, too. I must be confused about it. Either way I perfect his old weapon better, but I guess I'll accept since I'm more of get-used to type.

So, that DLC of Xingcai in the fox outfit is supposed to come out in Famitsu this week... can anyone confirm this is the right issue?

Hmm, no. Last issue was 1272, so this would be the correct one :)

With the confirmation of Weapon Move-Set DLC for DW8, while new weapons are inevitable, how would you guys feel to getting updated variations of Warriors Orochi characters who use the DW style of combat?

Characters who's weapons fall uner the DW fighting style:
  • Da Ji's Floating Orbs
  • Taigong Wang's Fishing Rod
  • Sun Wukong's Stretching Staff
  • Fu Xi's Great Sword
  • Nuwa's Rapier and Shield
  • Sanzang's Sleeves
  • Nezha's Rings
  • Joan of Arc's Enchanted Spear
  • Nemea's Golden Lance (I know it had the short-pike move set though they could enhance it to be different)
  • Achilles's Xiphos and Pelta
  • Rachel's Hammer and Heavy Machinegun
  • Shennong's Horse Whip
I loved Da Jis twin orbs in the WO series and making her a speed type in WO3 was perfect. it was awesome for performing combos on enemies and the spinning animation kept enemies from getting to her at all, especially if she had agility equipped. and Joans spear move set is nice, its move set incorporates the spears entire length so it has very good reach, and its charge attacks incorporate magic so its very effective in crowds. and the Xiphos and Pelta is such a strong weapon, could easily be the power equivalent to Xingcais speed-type sword and shield, a very brutal move-set. I would also love to see Nezhas rings get into this game as well, a very fast move set and because of its speed, you can continue the S-string constantly, almost like the Renbu system in DW6.

what about you guys, would you like to see these weapons in DW8 as DLC?

I think they should just let Joan keep her stick and make a Bladestorm musou...

But honestly, I think those weapons should just stay in WO. I wouldn't be all that bothered if they ever made their way into DW, but my preference is that they remain in WO and let that series have its own perks instead of distributing them out to other titles.

Since WO3 is not so far away (I feel like it has just been released), I'm 100% against these additions.
However, I remember someone speaking about DWMultiRaid2 weapons.
These could be nice (even if I'd prefer DWMR2 characters to appear in WO as well).

I'd rather have some old DW weapons, instead of WO ones.
For example :
From DW6 : Daggers, Crossbow, Lu Bu's Cross Halberd (hope Lingqi will get it), Twin fans
From DW5 and before : Guan Ping's Zanbato (this one is on the top of my wishlist), eventually Zhou Yu's sword
And eventually the Erhu.

I also hope for some brand new surprising weapon types.

well thing is we dont know if there will ever be another WO game. I would like to see these weapons get into DW8 as DLC, if only to keep the move sets from disappearing and never being used in a new game again.

if WO3 really is the last WO game, then the development of move sets will be wasted due to only being used once.

Also yes, I would also love the DWSF2 characters weapons to get in. Would love the chance to use Xi Wangmus lazer shooting orb, and Yu Meirens magical hoola-hoop.

There is no reason for the WO franchise to die.
I'm sure WO3 and all the related DLC sold quite well.
It became one of their main franchise.

I think that particular arc ended. But WO is a pretty popular and beloved franchise, im sure it'll be back. Probably with a new story arc.

Orochi Jr...or something...

I mean, they can only kill fake Orochis for so long...

I hated that moveset Dian Wei had myself, but I think it was a cool weapon. Wouldn't mind at all if it came back and was reworked heavily, like they did for the wolf teeth mace. I thought that weapon/moveset was also horrible in 6, but its pretty fine in DW7!

yeah it can go to another burly character like Wang Ping if it had to be given an EX user (assuming Wang Ping is made burly) but yeah rework the move set like the Wolf Teeth Cudgel and I'll buy it in a heartbeat
