Melon Hammers? Aren't those already supposed to be Lianshi's unchangeable secondary weapons ?Kidding aside, i would like to see them tweaked and on Hua Xiong (Note: My version of Hua Xiong wouldn't make him become simple fodder for a certain someone.). The Maces should be spiked and they also should be attachable. Like the Conjoined Swords from Cao Pi. I imagine Hua Xiong to be quite flexible and athletic. A bit like Yue Jin. Fierce-looking like Zhang Liao. And a bit "Bring it on!"-attitude like Gan Ning. Able to fight 2 strong enemies at the same time .

Nice idea with the Melon Hammers what about having one Spiked and another one Bladed?, but i think Hua Xiong should be muscular and have a large wild bushy beard |

A polearm, which has a Blade at one end and a big Mace/Club on the other end, on a muscular character with a beard? Sounds like the description of my version of Pan Zhang. Naaah, i need agility on my Hua Xiong. He has to take on both Guan Yu and Sun Jian simultaneously you know. |

Yeah there are still weapons from previous games which should make a return, I hope they do, it seems they focused on it in DW7 and if this weapon is the bladebow then it seems they're doing it again (fingers crossed). I for one would like to see Sun Quans sword from DW6 (design the same but new moveset), I dont mind who it becomes Ex of later on. Diao Chan's twin maces. Lu Xun's weapon from DW6. Thats all I can think of atm, but I have a feeling that out of them, the twin maces has more of a chance tbh. |

Meng Huo Pillar, Dian Wei Wrecking Ball and Lu Bu Cross Halberd would also be valid shouts for DLC weapons which whilst from Legacy games in the series are nothing like whats available from the 70+ movesets we currently have available. |

If Meng Huo's pillar ever makes a return, hopefully the moveset will still retain the mushroom and palm tree attacks, because the combination of these 3 'pillars' was what made the moveset so awesome imo. |

Bahaha I just remembered Meng Huo's pillar moveset, those were the days when I could give a tiny CAW woman the pillar...lol Yeah they could all return, if Koei keeps doing dlc weapons throughout 8 and then into XL too. I hope they do that again, not only do we get loads of weapons for CAW, but then they can assign characters to them in DW9. If they do that way of course, just have to wait and see. |

While the Pillar was ridiculous funny, i was annoyed of its...eh...what do they say...hitbox? Is that the right word? You know, when he wields it, it often misses the enemies because it seemed that there were those tail/train/curvature-effects missing on some attacks. Anyone else had these problems? It was on my german version of 6E. The Bow and the Bladebow were messed up a bit in that too. Some projectiles acted on their own. |

@Averryy: they can just make one of the weapon skin for blaze sword from DW6's Sun quan sword, if that happen then it surely belong to Sun Quan. Lu XUn's relaly need to come back..maybe to cheng pu Twin Maces, i kinda hope not, have a feeling that if they make it will be spikey unlike the original ornate and pinkish for Diaochan, and one character is using that and that character is unimportant(Shamoke) |

Oh are we considering old weapons that should come back as DLC again? Well, most of the weapons people have suggested are the obvious ones. Though I don't know about twin maces...course that may just be myself never liking that moveset, the range was just dreadful. And if they brought those back and changed them for a male we'd have...Taishi Ci pretty much. Isn't the Pillar a bit...too ridiculous? Well, either too much so, or not enough. If they brought it back i'd rather it have a few more shaman-esque qualities about it, rather than it being purely for comedic effect. I just want the Serrated sword to return really. That jagged, wicked looking thing of Dong Shuo's. Serrated edges would give it multiple hits and it could be alot more brutal if it isn't cloned with every other sword. Though I dunno who it could go to, seeing how DZ is pretty beastly with those bombs. Maybe a Wu guy, since they could strike the ground with the serrations to make sparks/flames. |

I kinda against using an old weapon for a new character. Especially if this old weapon is a sword. While I want them to be made as DLC, I think it would be better for them to stay without owner or to be made a generic officers weapon. |

To be fair the DLC weapons could be just given to generics in DW9, instead of a new character, But thats not to say that we couldnt equip these weapons as a secondary weapon is there? I doubt that Koei would waste DLC weapons to be honest, all the DLC weapons from DW7 era were used in one way or another, not wasting a single one. Either it goes to new characters (which i think is more plausible) or they just become secondary weapons to use. Either way they're still present. |

Yeah, it seems like a waste of work if they just released it as DLC when not everyone's going to buy it and then scrap it entirely. Edited by Lil'Richard, Sun Apr 28, 2013 5:24 pm.

^we don't even know if they'll be able to just transfer things over considering DW9 will probably be on PS4. If they can't, imo they might as well go all out with the weapon DLC with this game. |

I just came up for idea for the Fan/Twin Fans. Since the already did something similar with Zhang Bao's sword, why not make the Fans charge attack change the function of the sword. The Fans start out folded and and you can swing for thinner, but stronger attacks and then certain charge attacks make the fans expand and swings will hit for less damage, but have with bit boxes, and maybe a few wind based attacks with typhoons and stuff...also am I the only one who misses Da Qiao's old EX, you know the tornado? Or Yueying's EX that was the lighting stuff?

If they wanna bring back weapons, bring the ones from 6 onward. Before 6 can just forget it. If still want to, pick Zhou Yu's, then tweak it into a more fluid kung fu. That one was real deal. I actually want Zhuge Liang's fan to be rigged similarly to DW6 one though. The square string can turn the fan into sword, then whip. That's badass. |

Personally, if Lu Xun's DW6 Sword came back, I'd like it to go to Liu Shan. I just really don't like the rapier that much. Not to mention, in his Awakening, he uses it almost similarly. Although, I really want Liu Shan to have a toy as his weapon.

Please no, I think Liu Shan works alot better with the rapier than he would with a sword like that. (Also, I love that weapon. ) 'Sides that sword pretty much is back, just used differently. Unless i'm forgetting what the DW6 one looked like.

Will in a business sense making these movesets is the best option - you create a new moveset and people pay money for them. If you want to assign a new moveset to a new character then youve already made a couple bought and paid for in past games - all you have to do is add an ex attack and some musuos and include them on disc. The hard work has already been done and hell youve even earned some money for that work long before they are actually properly utilized. I still think a big draw for XL characters though is new movesets - i know it was ac cloned moveset but the Twin Axes being on Pang De numbed a lot of the excitement many of us had for playing him... the story side of it was there but it was a real added bonus getting to use Guo Jia or Wang Yi with brand new movesets first hand. As such perhaps they will split the weapons on new characters with some DLC and some brand new - remember the Twin Sai were meant to be DLC but Koei changed their mind to keep them fresh for XL buyers. That would leave a couple of unassigned DLC weapons for giving to someone in DW9 or perhaps even Empires if they once more actually decide to make a brand new character for that... no one cares if the DLC moveset will have played to death by then because well everyone buys those games to make their own characters, not focus on the unique playables and what style of fighting they have. |
