The latest original character to be added to the WO franchise, Ying Long is a figure from ancient Chinese mythology. He is traditionally known as a great winged dragon who helped Huangdi defeat the demon Chiyou and helped Yu the Great dig channels to subdue the Great Deluge. Here he is portrayed as a Mystic general who comes from the timeline of the first WO game. He is obviously going to play a big role in the part of the story that deals with Orochi’s origins, and I can’t wait to see how he plays out as a character. His weapon is supposed to be twin dragon swords, yet he is depicted holding a spear… What do you guys think? |

Hmm, a dragon in the form of a mystic. I quite like that depiction but I hope he does actually turns into a real dragon in one of his attacks. We have Orochi and Daji but both of them have always stayed in their human forms. Regarding his weapon, I'm quite confused as well. Maybe the trident can somehow split into twin swords? ![]() I think I'll really enjoy his moveset for some reason, compared to Tamamo no Mae's. I don't even know why. Haha. |

I'll be honest, this is probably the first warriors character who's design im disappointed with. Hes supposed to be a dragon after all right? He looks nothing like one, at all. I was expecting a very tall, masculine anthropomorphic dragon warrior with scales, horns, claws, wings, and a tail. A refined Chinese design warrior to fit the legend regarding his character. Don't get me wrong I love his outfit, his face just doesn't give off a "I'm a mighty dragon, thou shalt respect me" vibe. I get a "im another generic pretty male" character vibe. Heres hoping he has a decent alt costume that features him as an actual dragon. If not an in-game alt costume, then possibly a DLC costume. The new characters will probably get new DLC costumes to go along with the other characters, he might get an awakened form, since he's a chinese character, that depicts him as an actual dragon ... and not ... that thing ... |

To be fair, dragons in Chinese mythology have occassionally possessed shape-shifting powers, especially the Dragon Kings. In fact, Sanzang's horse in JttW was originally a dragon (in fact, he was a son of the Dragon King of the West Ocean) that sometimes turned into the form of a human if the situation called for it. While there's no mention that I can see that Yinglong possessed such abilities, I don't think it would be too far-fetched to assume that perhaps that Koei had this version of Yinglong take on the form of a human as a reference to other dragons for Chinese mythology that do. |

Huh, strange, I went to the official site, and didn't see any information about what his weapons will be. I may be wrong though, or just isn't careful enough in screening through the information. Though since his design isn't rendered yet, I suppose there's a chance that his weapon will change. |

i think yinglong must have something to do with orochi. in the trailer at 0.51 orochi was holding something in his right hand which looks suspiciously like yinlong's sword. |

I kinda find him boring despite being an old friend of Fu Xi and Nezha. He's powerful, but he played a large role due to his transformation. I feel sorry for him when he gets fooled by Tamamo, turns to the Jade Emperor, attempted to destroy the mirror since he was tricked, and becomes Orochi... completely against anybody and he eventually killed Nezha. No wonder why his hair and eyes are based on Orochi/Orochi X... it was intentionally done to make a connection between them. I have no idea about how his swords work. Different from Liu Bei, Cao Pi and Lu Xun, perhaps? |

I have a question: I kinda dont get his name. Wiki said that Yinglong's means "responding dragon"[/font], japanesse dudded him "Oryu" which is the Yellow Dragon and they are completely different entities. Not to mention TWIN dragons, not A or THE dragon... This confuse me greatly , sorry for those who cant understand. I just dont get his name So is he the Yellow Dragon or just plain old Yinglong? Ouryuu is the Japanese pronunciation for both Yellow Dragon and Yinglong. The kanji used for Yinglong's name means "responding dragon". BTW, to me he wears yellow, not because he's a "yellow dragon", but to identify himself as a specific kind of Mystic, similar to Sanzang's color scheme. |

All mystics seem to don a gold color scheme... even Da Ji and Orochi (although theirs aren't as obvious) |

I felt that he was too easily decieved. Honestly, I was very disappointed in that scene with Tamamo.... He made Anakin's fall to the dark side seem more believable by comparison.... Which already felt EXTREMELY forced. Tamamo: Herp Derp The Emperor is evil. Yinglong: OMG IS IT TRUE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited by Cao Ang, Thu Feb 9, 2017 12:46 am.

My thoughts exactly. Yinglong's inclusion and design came as a big surprise to me, and a good one at that. He became--and still is--one of my favorite character designs. The archaic, traditional-looking armor, the allusions to his mythological counterpart through the fins (?) on his back, the unique zig-zag swords, and especially those eyes. I don't think I've seen eyes as captivating anywhere else, the juxtaposition of a mostly human appearance with those draconic eyes masterfully hints at his supernatural, perhaps bestial nature. However... Spoiler: click to toggle So, sadly, I feel that he is a wasted character, which is an utter shame. And it doesn't help that he is likely to be a character exclusive to WO3: U only, with no chance to appear outside of it and salvage his purpose. |

Really? Thanks for sharing that piece of info, that is hilarious I kinda felt the same once I saw the story for myself. I was like "Really?" Still, he's a pretty fun character to use, its been ages since I played the game and played as Ying Long, but he had a pretty solid moveset from what I recall ... |

Yes, he's great to play as. His design, move set, weapon, demeanor, conversations with other characters--all of these are fine, really. It's just his story that sucks. That nickname was too distinctive for me to forget, regretfully. *sigh* All these years, and I'm still so salty about it. And I'm rarely if ever salty about something. |
