Looks quite great upscaled..............meaning I'll be more saddened that this will not likely see this shine in the West.

Also, the official site has updated with more screenshots, details on the game, etc.

Of note:
-The treasure box edition comes with postcards, stickers, and all three OSTs

-Both games (SM2 with Moushouden and SM2 Empires) are available on the same disc: there is a menu where you select the game you want to play, and you can return to the menu by pressing Cross at either game's main menu
-There is autosave support
-Supports trophies (different trophy lists for SM2 with Moushouden and for SM2 Empires)
-Supports Cross save for PS3/PSV
-All 32 characters are playable in SM2 with Moushouden from the start
-There are 6 new male models and 5 new female models in SM2E's edit mode

On Vita:
-In SM2wM, you can play Musou mode, free mode, and Sugoroku via ad hoc multiplayer
-In SM2E, you can play Empires mode and free mode via ad hoc multiplayer
-Roll dodge and map switching are accomplished via the touch screen

No, it's definitely not getting a western release at all according to one of the producers. To be honest, I'd be more impressed if they made something similar for DW3 and its Xtreme Legends expansion.

So they still haven't said anything solid about being able to play the XL characters in Empires? :kurokan:

Unfortunately no, I haven't seen anything to indicate that we can play the XL characters in Empires :/ It's possible I missed something or that they are holding back on announcing this, but I don't see why they would do that. So I wouldn't get your hopes up...

I actually liked Kojiro's "generic" moveset in Empires.

Also, do we know if the Online feature from the Xbox 360 version of SW2 will be in the PS3 HD version?

It's doing as it said it would, HD. SW2 HD is getting bundled with both or either of the games, per the Vita, and looks much better than the non-HD version by far.

Now that it's out, what's better: to import, or just get it through PSN? What's cheaper? What's easier?

And if I do choose PSN, then how do I go about getting PSN cards?

I still don`t get a point to bring this one to Vita. Why not SW3Z instead?

My copy has been shipped so I think, import the game is more better than download the game on the PSN and of course, you need a psn card. I don't really know where you can find the japanese psn card.

Well, I might download it but I'm still not sure if it's worth it.

About PSN cards, I used to buy them through Play Asia who gave you the code instantly but recently, they've been taking more and more time...

Plus, the last card I bought was not activated and I can tell you it's real hell to get them to activate it... I had to send them screenshots of my vita and my pc to proove them it wasn't working and now it's been three weeks and they still didn't activate it. They say it takes time but I don't know what they're doing!

Anyway, I don't know if I try http://www.japan-codes.com/.., it"'s much more expensive. But I know I won't use Play Asia anymore...

I think i'm a bit envious now, with the people that import it. Should i follow? Maybe later. I wouldn't anyway have the time to play through the whole SW2 era again. It looks very good in HD though *is so tempted*. Hey, what was the price of this again (TB or not)? In Euro.

Oh? This doesn't even sound really expensive. With PB you mean the Premium/Treasure box, right? Now i could need some links from where i could order this to Europe (Germany).

Going to be completely honest, I can't wait to play through Sengoku Musou 2 again. I'm especially looking forward to replaying Kotaro and Hanzo because their rivalry in the game was one of my favourite things about the series. Just a pity their rivalry has sort of been forgotten about now. I think it was one of the more interesting relationships in the cast.

And they're my Sengoku Musou biases. What can I say?

Plus, Hanzo's ending in Sengoku Musou 2. Ouch, Hideyoshi. I feel quite bad for you.

As confirmation, no the XL characters are not available in SM2E HD and Katsuie and Kojiro retain their mix-and-match movesets in that game.

So far I've only played a couple of stages. Graphically it's definitely worse than SM3Z, and the prerendered cutscenes are a little fuzzy. That said, gameplay already feels better like I remember it, so I'll be having some fun with this game and Batman Arkham Origins this weekend :)

That sucks. It really just sounds like they have taken the 360 versions, converted them and done little else. Good to hear that you're enjoying it though! I just played through the 360 version a few months back and had a good time. A shame that you'll be missing on Keiji's WILDLY AWESOME voice though!

Can you please also check if the PS3 version of XL has the online mode that the Xbox 360 version had?

I haven't seen an online mode anywhere. Where could you find this on the 360 version?

For the most part this seems to be the case. As advertised on the website, there a few "new" models for CAW in SM2E HD (though really, they're just some of the SM3 CAW models, so nothing too exciting here...), along with the other minor features I mentioned earlier in this thread.
