It's no secret or hidden fact that ZZ is taking the biggest blow in Shin Gundam Musou by far, in favor of what is likely to be "The New Translation" take on Zeta. A series that use to headline in these games, the proud third part of the Tomino Trilogy, being reduced from official mode material, to just a series with a hand full of units to it's name. And while so many people quickly shun ZZ as the black sheep of the franchise, with it's rather So. Will you be Missing ZZ from the headlines of the game? or was there nothing to really miss from the get go? Sing your heart out, Gundam! Edited by tyrox9, Tue Oct 22, 2013 10:30 pm.

There's not really any proof to say that ZZ is getting totally shafted, is there? It doesn't have an official mode, but neither do the non-SEED AUs. It's still early days and we know that the Double Zeta is in the game. A lot of people are jumping to conclusions when there's still lots of time left for things to be revealed. That said, I do like ZZ. I wouldn't mind seeing several of the characters and suits in the game, and I'd like Glemy's Bawoo to be Class 1 (if they're even using classes in the game). No no. its not being shafted by all means, and nothing it completely in stone of whats lost, except the official mode. we still at least have ZZ, Quebley, Queb Mk II, with their respective pilots. but this is just about ZZ losing it's its official mode. and likely most of, if not all, of its class 3 units. Still no word on Puru returning, and they could possibly scrap judau's junk gang from the cast. it's not completely gone by any means. it's just losing stuff, while most other series still has the hopes and potential of gaining things. |

I think they just don't have the time to do the official mode properly with them having to make Unicorn, Seed and Destiny's from scratch. There's still a number of adds ZZ needs before it can get a Official mode on par with the others and since Official mode in the big thing for this game I bet they would rather take it out than have it be sub par compared to the others which are looking to be compete. I don't think ZZ will lose anything they had in DWG3 |

Quite frankly I see no reason for ZZ to lose anything. 3 had some pretty terrible history missions and ZZ still managed to at least get a few pilot adds. The only questionable suits would be the MP Bawoos which we lost from 2-3. It would be nice to have them back but right now its up in the air. Edit: Well MP Bawoo was confirmed so there we go.

I don't remember ZZ having that great of a story mode in GM2 anyways, so it isn't a huge miss. |

ZZ only needs the addition of another two characters (Cello and Chara) to have a really full Official Mode, its a shame they've removed the whole thing instead of adding a little bit more. I miss it, put it that way. Yeah the anime itself starts off with a lighter tone but once it gets to the halfway line its just as dark as anything else they've done. Rahkan is kinda important, arguably moreso that Chara, being the guy that killed Hayato in one of the most important battles in ZZ, and then killing Cello in the finale. Realistically, the need the above 3 pilots, and each of them had 2 machines that would need the class 1 treatment, Hamma Hamma and Zaku 3 custom, R Jarja and Greymalk, Dreissen and Doovenwolf. ZZ will probably get an Offical Mode in the next one, Seed just took priority because of the anniversary, and being more popular. |

They can't do every series. Suppose story modes are, you know, actually good this time. If so, the number of series they have is pretty good for quality stories. The real question is, why did they choose SEED and SEED Destiny over, say, ZZ and 00? Edited by Flashbang Incentive, Sat Oct 26, 2013 3:14 pm.

Because SEED is mega-popular. It's basically the Final Fantasy VII of the Gundam canon, where you idolize it for what it has done for the franchise, or complain that it takes too much space. ZZ isn't liked amongst the Gundam powers-that-be because they felt that it acted far too different than the other installments, and 00 isn't as liked because of the fact that plnety of people feel that the series had a great idea, but horrible execution, and as a person who only watched it for one specific character (a bad sign), I can vouch for it. I voted "No", but I would miss it due to the fact that... well, ZZ is one of my favorite installments, and all of the attempts to remove it from the canon seem to forget that ZZ left a bigger imprint in the Universal Century than the original Gundam or Zeta. Well they're doing Unicorn and CCA so.... We kinda need ZZ as it's important to the events of both those series. No matter how hated ZZ may be even to this day it's a very important part of UC timeline. So it's very sad that ZZ has been skipped over yet Unicorn and CCA are in despite the fact that neither could actually happen without ZZ events. |

Chara Soon and Mashymre Cello would even out the protagonist to antagonist ratio a bit. Plus they were both had fairly significant screen-time. I think Mondo is another necessary addition. |

I don't think that they are removing the ZZ official mode because of New Translation. NT doesn't necessarily remove it from canon either as it would only require a couple of tweeks to ZZ to make it fit. Also, the ending for New Translation already existed in GM2 as an easter egg but it involved a lot of running around in Kamille's final mission. I agree that Chara and Mashymre should be added to do the ZZ story some justice. Rather than removing it just to make room for Unicorn. |

as long as the cast still stays in the game+mashymere&Hamma Hamma, i will be fine with no ZZ Official, Judau&co. looks better on a crossover storyline anyways, though GM3 doesn't do him justice at all. |
