Tips on getting good S rank plans; Seems kind of obvious, but I forgot it myself

So while grinding out for S rank plans that are awarded by the game at 10k kills for most suits, I came to be disappointed twice for the ones I got for Wing Zero and Nu Gundam.

So I tried out something and it worked. Now I get the S rank plans I want no matter what. Seems kind of obvious for a veteran player but I forgot about this awesome feature (well in this case): INTERIM SAVE

You'll need to have beaten the first set ultimate mode missions to do this as you'll need the last mission.

First: turn off autosave (fourth option in "game controls" in the option section)

Second: Get your desired suit up to 9999 and then die on whatever stage you're grinding (or interim save if you mess up)

Third: Play the last stage of the 1st ultimate mode missions (1 on 1 with Emma) and interim save when you begin the fight.

Now you'll have infinite chances of getting what you want for your S rank plan award.

If you didn't get the plan you wanted, just load the save data over again and it will take you back to your mission right away for quick retry.

Seems obvious I know, but will really help out beginning players who may be struggling or want a quick power boost early in the game.

Good luck

That is smart thinking there lol. I should've tried that. But now I have to figure out how to get S rank parts for ones that I didn't do this trick.

Lol same, and then top it off, it happened again with A rank prize for Zero :(

I've learned to just shut off autosave and save after every mission. It may seem tedious, but it could help out later on

Hi, a forum newbie here.. Regarding unlocking the S rank units, I might be wrong, but is it possible that some unit's S rank plan must be unlocked by means other than defeating 10k enemies?

I got this idea from looking at the card collection. The gallery have the list of un-obtained cards with description of how to unlock it (I think).

BTW, how to you check the number of enemies a unit (not a character) had shot down?

Some units have the requirement at 5,000 kills so you have to be careful.

The card collection will give you a good estimate, they'll have some with either 5,000 or 10k and then S in the description and they will be gold cards as well.

When you are in the plans section in either mode, highlight the suit you want to use and then press triangle, it will show you all the stats for that particular suits in terms of missions, kills, etc.

Found a way to get S rank parts...and its painfull xD, you need to play the 8 Star missions on hard(only one you can lol). When you kill a suit it will be A rank or S rank......so ya....i think the S rank system is kinda wack in this game since you need to kill super OP enemys to get S rank parts....yet you need S rank parts to beat the OP enemys so that you can get the S rank parts to beat.......ya you get where this is going lol.

Nice tips right there :D I also found one more tip from a 2ch-er post

Once you're able to change difficulty stars, you can utilize the first mission in the operation 一機当万 One Unit Matches Thousand by setting it to 8-star Hard. Apparently in that mission you're only required to let 3 minutes elapse for the mission to clear and nets you at least one plan for your current MS.

Also make sure that the pilot has the 幸運 Good Luck skill and is equipping it; supposedly the skill greatly increases the quality of obtained plans.

I've been farming that mission for the past 4 hrs

Didn't have time to post it, and yeah I think I'm just going to blow past ultimate mode just so I can unlock my stars

Not yet no, with over 70+ playable pilots it's going to take a while to get this all done

I can confirm that not only does Cagalli have it, but she also has Beginner's Faux Pas and both skills that allow you to charge Burst and SP really fast, which makes her really friggin' solid, I tell you what.

Thank you BK and Jaster I didn't even think of the Good Luck skill.

thanks for all the tip. I use the 1st stage 2nd mission to farm as well. only grunts appear and only need to have 300 shot down to finish the stage. I use the 3 min stage to get a decent s rank plan, next use the 300 shot down stage to get more. sometime it is faster to have the 300 shot down.

Wow, that's nic- ...wait what?

I thought here that even S rank plans have their own stat caps too, but look at what we have here

Armor: 6100 (supposed S max 5000)
Defense: 649 (supposed 300)
Thruster: 500 (supposed 400)

Hmm I wonder if there's some more factor in this.. :ph43r:

Yeah seriously, I've been operating under this same assumption

Hmmmmm, guess I'll have to continue grinding some more.

Maybe it varies from suit to suit?

I'll see if I can duplicate the same results with Wing Zero at least in terms of defense, thruster and armor

Wow, I just realized you got max stats with just 3 upgrades O.o

Been grinding S rank parts for Big zam and alpha lately and boy does the game seem to hate them lol, since both have only 3 limbs that can upgraded its looking like they cant be capped, unless its true each suit has its own cap level.

Iv been using, Setsuna F Seiei with them with good luck attached at lv.3 and still allot of rank A parts, The mission im grinding is that next to last mission (Desert stage) where you must take out 10,000 units. It can be annoying since i need a near perfect 1 boost type of each for each limb for those 2 making this a rather painful grind lol

As for each having thier own cap level i think it may be true since my quin mantha has a capped DEF of 600 on its left leg i think will check into this, another thing i wounder is if you can go beyound the stats limit they show on the stats screen from the parts giving more stats than what the total truly is, this could be wrong, but then again think of the skill Beginner's Faux Pas since it increases your attack instages but not on the menu.

that really is a good place to farm for plans. thanks jaster, it has been giving me 2 plans most of the time and I can rack up some decent shotdown count. just need to dodge the bombardment.

@Wingzero : can you write the mission to finish in order to choose the number of stars.
I finished the latest ultimate mode mission ((just before the 2 DLC) but skip some and i can't set the number of stars.

Thanks

once you clear all the mission (excluding true gundam musou) you should be able to set the stars. press square to set the stars for each stage.

star setting option is unlock together with the mission "true gundam musou."

Make sure that you really completed all the Ultimate Missions even though it says Complete by the Mission it doesn't mean you completed every single stage in it. Just go back to see if there are ones which you haven't finished. All the ones you finished should be marked orange and ones you haven't cleared is white.
