Depends on whether or not she can make a high pitched voice for Puru. If she could, that would really solve the problem quickly. But I doubt it, because Yuko Kaida only voices very mature, almost masculine women. Edited by Master Omega, Mon Feb 3, 2014 11:06 pm.

When did they plan on doing anything for ZZ? When they pretty much remade all of MSG, Zeta and CCA's Official modes Expanding on the first two to include early levels along with adding Seed, Destiny and Unicorn maybe they just didn't want to have to do that with ZZ considering the amount of adds required to get it from Ep 1 to final. They certainly don't need a new VA for the Puru's for anything Official mode related since they have 2 games full of their dialogue already to make use of and if they do move back to more crossover things I can see them just moving to the background more or getting a new VA.
Why not? isn't that how we get rosters done quickly like we have this game? I much prefer seeing shows 90-100% been done with actual work put into the story lines rather than drip feeding and the joke we got called History missions from 3. Though tbh I'd rather see the Official Mode's they have currently just worked into an good Original story line with the staggers as guest characters who get their story lines and as such their full roster in future games. |

If that recorded dialogue is so readily available, why was ZZ excluded then? There was no reason for them not to do it. The stages just needed touching up, so why bother removing the whole thing? If they moved them to the background, that doesn't really solve anything, it just removes more characters from the crossover story. That's why I'm saying that they have to get a new VA for the Purus, it helps with both the Official Mode and with Original Mode, allowing them to have new dialogue, and keep the Purus as active participants in the crossover stories. The Official Mode setup for roster additions will likely never be viable, nor fast for that matter. Certain series will obviously be passed over for this, either because they're not as popular, or are too difficult to make an official mode for, which means that someone who wants to see any of those casts completed has to wait several years to see their patience payoff, if at all. As I've said before: Which fanbase are you willing to upset and force to wait two more years or longer just to try their luck again in the next game? Whoever has to wait at the end of the line will NOT be having such a great time compared to the ones being catered to. That is a customer who will not bother with the series and spend their money elsewhere, maybe on something they consider more worthwhile, like Gundam Extreme Vs. Full Boost, a game that comes from a long line of "drip fed" games, yet still has a better roster than Shin Gundam Musou. I advocate the removal of ANYTHING related to Official Mode and History Missions. We don't need them. The whole point of these games is the crossover story, like with Super Robot Wars. So why the Hell are we all still clinging to the idea that we want Official Mode at all? It just takes time away from the story, and serves as an excuse for Koei to reuse old footage instead of adding to the game. Edited by Master Omega, Tue Feb 4, 2014 2:46 am.

Yeah, if that's the option, then most likely they'll stick with EW for all eternity... and the TV version will always get the short end of the stick again. ![]() Personally I would really love to see Koei keep the Wing priority on TV version, with EW as additional extra. After completing the TV Wing Boys, the only plausible EW units they should add in the near future other than WZC should be Tallgeese III and Serpent. The rest of EW can wait perhaps until the next-next gen. Speaking of that, I'd like to give attention to this page. This is a most recent poll asking the more general audience on which TV Gundam series they like the most. http://ranking.goo.ne.jp/ranking/004/business_HT09Tfjecqxg_all/ (Poll was done from 28 Nov - 12 Dec 2013) 1. 1st Gundam - 2883 votes 2. Gundam SEED - 485 votes 3. Zeta Gundam - 363 votes 4. Gundam SEED Destiny - 181 votes 5. Gundam Wing - 177 votes 6. Gundam 00 - 170 votes 7. Gundam ZZ - 87 votes 8. G Gundam - 64 votes 9. Victory Gundam - 45 votes 10. Gundam Build Fighters - 37 votes 11. Gundam X - 36 votes 12. Turn A Gundam - 28 votes 13. Gundam AGE - 19 votes Other series (Non-TV series and such) - 772 votes Notice at how the top 4 (1st, SEED, Zeta, Destiny) are in line with the series that get Official stories in Shin GW. Of course CCA & Unicorn are not in the poll because they're not TV series, but I bet they make up the majority of the other series votes. If Koei continues to look at general opinions like this, who knows if in the next GW game they might give extra focus to Wing & 00 then *hint hint*

I know actors have range, but many Seiyuu have a type of character that they stick with. Turn A was disliked for the same reason G was hated: "It's not Gundam." Due to the whole mustache thing and people not liking the MS designs. But at the time, people were also likely disillusioned with Gundam due to having one every year throughout the 90s. |

Because they needed more than touching up since every Official mode in this game has been redone to start from episode 1 and carry though to the end (save Unicorn because obvious reason's). It wouldn't have made sense to have 6 stories start from Ep1 and then one randomly start in the middle and jump around as much as ZZ's has in the past. So they trashed the weak link until they want to bring it in line with the others.
Totally agree they should get new VA's but for Official mode they need nothing they haven't already said.
Don't agree at all, they did the two most dense Shows in this one, getting most of the rosters done in one shot and tagged on part of a OVA + room for extra's via DLC. They could easily hit 2+ shows a game + a OVA pretty healthy and they already have a pretty nice start on a few. I imagine the only Universe that will take a full game to do at this point is 00 with it's movie and large cast and maybe X.
I'd be fine with official Mode leaving if Koei can put together a major story like the first game again but while we continue to get buckets of random events like we have since 2 with a gazillion random pointless missions, I'd take Official mode any day Edited by Zeik Liberated, Tue Feb 4, 2014 11:40 pm.

More like they added way too many characters and MS from the CE in a single go, solely for the sake of giving it an Official Mode, leaving no room for ZZ characters and pilots to be added to help it fit in with the new OM model. Adding the first few episodes of ZZ isn't difficult though, since most of the action happens on Shangri La and other colony style locations, the problem is that we're missing Mashymere and his MS, along with some other named characters.
Both Wing and 00 could form the backbone of a full game like how SEED and Destiny hogged the adds in SGM. Wing somewhat less than 00, but knowing Koei and Bandai's marketing strategy, the roster would look like this: Spoiler: click to toggle This ensures that the Wing boys are complete, with their First, Second and Third set of MS are in, gives Zechs the Tallgeese I and III, ensures that there are grunts for OZ, White Fang and the Mariemaia Army, as well as class 2 units for officers like Noin to use. Also, if Mercurius and Vayeate aren't used, there's still the fact that Unicorn will be finished by the time the next game comes out, so the final upgraded units for each character will be included: Frontal's Final Unit (not revealed yet) Rozen Zulu Kshatriya Repaired Banshee Norn And that still doesn't touch on the fact that Shamblo is still missing, along with a few MS from SEED and Destiny, like the BuCUE, LaGOWE, Savior and Gouf Ignited. 00 would, of course, have even more to add on to the game, and would likely carry the roster to the point of having more adds than SEED and Destiny. Either way, the results would be similar to what is shown above. This leaves DLC to speculation. But then the next game would be the cycle repeating itself, but with the other instead, and possibly Stardust Memory, F91 and Crossbone as its OM targets. This means that a large chunk of the adds would still, very likely, go to OM series, rather than supplementing the other shows in the roster. Though that will depend on whether or not we even get a roster increase like what we saw in SGM. Maybe the number will be only enough to support Wing/00? Maybe more than SGM? Maybe they won't give either Wing or 00 an Official Mode at all and focus on cleaning up what they already have? Only Koei knows the answer now.
Mission Mode could become like the challenge modes of the main DW titles. Instead of being just random missions, they're themed and offer the player to try to beat a certain record or goal in exchange for higher ranked plans/parts and more experience points for pilots. This would be where the online component comes into play with competitive scoring in online matches, or PvP if Koei really wants to. Though, I still prefer Mission Mode over Official Mode precisely because Official Mode is intrusive and has taken too much precedence over making a good original story. I'd like to see the Gundam series go the Empires route of making your own story and conquering an entire planet one territory at a time. The Official Modes are boring and rehashes of the same stories we've all seen a dozen times (they can't even really provide any twists like they can with DW or SW), and it's obvious whoever wrote the first game no longer works for them so they can't get a decent original story to save their lives. Might as well forget all the story nonsense and just focus on the gameplay variety. I hope they apply the same moveset philosophy to the rest of the cast that they have for the recent DLC suits: Just Go Crazy. Edited by Wild Lion, Wed Feb 5, 2014 1:23 am.

Por que no los dos? *obligatory meme: check* Why not do both, having team stories, but with an Empires style ability to choose which team or mission you want to play first? This results in branching stories, while also having the Empires style team management. Also, I'm not one to give up on Koei's ability to write a good story. DWG1 was great, DWG2 was good in certain stories, DWG3 was the only really bad one, while SGM could be a great text story or not, but loses credibility due to the lack of cutscenes. So it's a 50/50 split. Edited by Master Omega, Wed Feb 5, 2014 1:35 am.

Exactly what I meant, they would have need way more add's to bring it in line with the others shows when they obviously wanted to get the majority of Seed and Destiny done in this game so it would not fit with the Official mode model of this game.
Don't imagine they would bother with some of these grunts like Aries and Virgo II even the Serpent could be supplemented by the Virgo if they want to.
Well that is what I said, use the main game to finish shows quickly with maybe a few adds to previously done shows and then add a few extra's in as DLC. Considering Wing has virtually no characters left to add compared to other shows would make it even easier to do in one go along with and other show like 00.
Sounds like what the missions are this time around with all the challenges. Not a place I'm thrilled for the game to go but it does make it a better portable game I will admit.
When they took official Mode out to make a Crossover story, people moaned, when they bring it back, they moan. I'd rather have any form of set story line based missions (Official or Original just no randomness) than a huge amount of random pointless ones. So until Koei can make a story line that doesn't involve random missions, I'll take my Official mode for when the randomness wears thin. |

Pretty much this. DWG 3's story would have been fine if it had the same quality of writing as DWG 1 or 2. I'd also like to point out that in both DWG 1 and 2, I played the Original modes far more than I ever did the Official modes. Official mode was good for a play through or two and then i'd just go to Original Mode and play it like crazy. And no this isn't entirely due to grinding either. In DWG 1 I went back to Original Mode missions because I genuinely liked them. As interesting as some Official modes can be, I often find them lacking by comparison to Original Mode missions. If anything annoyed me about the removal of Official Modes in 3, it would be that content that originated from these modes was cut entirely (CCA content and a bit of MSG content) from the game itself. Do I think Official Modes should be cut from the game though? Not exactly, but I don't think Official Modes should be so significant that they become the primary selling point of the game (which is what they tried to do with DWG Shin). I think at the very least that Official Modes offer a good entry point to Gundam series for people who aren't very familiar with these series to begin with. Save people have been moaning about Official Mode's return and expansion after taking a game off. Heck people are even moaning that it's not good enough as it misses a number of missions off.
DWG1 is like the complete exception, it's writing was so much better than every other game and had so much more thought put into each mission it's laughable when compared to what we have had since. And it's only natural to spend more time in Original mode with how it's been since 2 and that is a gazillion random pointless, brain dead, random missions and for the record while better than 3 and this games 2's Original modes were still not even close to the same league as what we had in 1 imo. Until we get back to the point we were at in one with mission quality, Official mode just has more thought in the missions. |

I disagree. In most cases Official Mode missions just follow a basic road map set by the battle they are trying to recreate. Take the first two battles in the Seed Official Mode for example. Fight the Creuset Team, fight some grunts, fight the Creuset Team again. That's relatively it. A Official Mode mission can only be as good as the battle it is recreating. Original Mode missions at least throw a bit of variety at you from time to time. And still, the fact of the matter was that 2's Original Mode missions and scenarios were still more entertaining than the official mode (Keep in mind i'm referring to the plot based missions in Original Mode, not the random missions). Probably one of the biggest reasons is because they offer unique interactions that Official Mode can never give us. |

At it's basis sure, but there's a story line though the mission where the characters aren't just sprouting random lines at each other and in stead talk to each other + there's an overarching narrative to the mission that add's to it. This isn't true for "Fight these girls characters because!"
There was certainly a few of characters mission mode's I could agree with you on, however the vast majority of them I found were just rehashed attempts at recreating other shows plots using the wrong characters or horrible things like Emma's simulations and Zechs randomly becoming Treize and going on a rampage over remote weapons for some reason. True, in terms of narrative and dialogue, Official mode generally has that down a bit better (with the exception of DWG 1 of course, where Original mode's dialogue and plots were just as good.). The reason being of course because they have that road map that i mentioned. Just to be clear, i'm not saying that the original mode missions that have you fight certain units or suits with no context or story are nearly as good as either the Official Mode missions or the Original Mode story missions. Some can easily be more enjoyable than certain official mode missions though in terms of gameplay.
Emma's Simulation missions were indeed lackluster (with the exception of the last one, where it actually was fairly interesting). None of these were as bad as DWG 3's of course. As for rehashes, we saw the worst of this in DWG 3 yet again via history missions. In cases like these they shouldn't even try to retell the story of a character and instead give them a new one. The least I can say for Milliardo's story in DWG 2 was that they atleast tried to give him a new story (even if it was really weird). |

pft. tch. ha! maybe so DWG2 stories had some stories be rehashes. At least that's still something, substance. DWG3 original mode story was mooore like "character interactions. character interactions. filler filler filler filler filler. character interaction. filler. filler. filler. character interaction. filler x10. Wannabe Persona Ending" And the DWG2 rehashes still at least have enough variation from the original to be neat. and a lot better character interactions anyways, since, yknow, DWG3 is about; Amuro, kamille, Judadu Setsuna, Bangher, Char, Ribbons, Full frontal.... and then their friends. |

I could go on about the ones in 2 and I didn't say 3's was much better, about the only thing it had going for it was a linked story, but most the missions were still just full of random garbage the only one with anything decent outside of Official mode story wise was 1 |

I've gotta sound off about this subject as the Original Mode was the most enjoyable aspect for me when I played the first Gundam Musou. I loved the crossover cutscenes that had interactions between different universes. Examples include: Heero having a one-on-one melee fight with Master Asia, Haman attempting to defeat Milliardo the way she did Quattro(Char), Loran somehow blocking Heero's TBR shot and then getting swatted out of the air, etc. Plus, Even the "homage" cutscenes were nice like: Heero's duel with Milliardo, Domon and Master Asia teaming up, etc. As a whole, The only things that were improvements with the subsequent games was the addition of more pilots/MS such as the SEED/Destiny characters, more UC characters, more Wing characters, and the 00 characters. Although it didn't have the SEED characters, the first game was by far the most interesting and enjoyable of the games due to all of the Original content and effort to making a full crossover game. The second game did at least retain some crossover interactions during the pilots' "story" missions. Such as Domon challenging Heero to a Gundam Fight, Milliardo's strange desire to eliminate all "remote" weapons, etc. At least there was interactions, both unvoiced and in-stage voiced dialogue. However, The game was bogged down by a plethora of completely pointless random missions, like others have pointed out, with no real reason to play them other than to see the "Complete" word next to them. In addition, There was also the whole ridiculous Friendship-building aspect to GM2 that grated on my nerves. The third game actually tried to bring back the Original story, but only a few characters got to be in cutscenes. 00 characters, SEED characters, and UC characters. It "tried" but failed miserably due to the only crossover interactions were in cutscenes and every in-stage dialogue was just characters' famous lines from their respective series. In addition, the dialogues just triggered regardless of the dialogue that preceded them. The characters weren't even "aware" of each other and just spouted their random famous lines! Also, like others have pointed out, the return of mass quantities of random pointless missions that served no real purpose other than to "extend gameplay". Now, Don't get me wrong, everything BUT the story was massively improved in the second game and I really thought the cell-shaded style was an improvement in the third game. But, I have to point out the one thing that I could NOT stand in the second or third game, however, was the fact that they "forced" you to unlock that stupid "random pilot appears in random MS" crap! You could avoid it, but you couldn't complete the games if you did, plus it was a requirement along the way of unlocking all pilots/MS.Anyway, I'm really looking forward to playing Shin GM, but it does sound like a combination of the second and third games. Like the second and third games, though, I want to play it for all of the improvements so I'll still have a lot of fun with it like I have with GM3. As per future installments, I'd really like to see either one: an Original Mode focus that's more like the first GM, or a complete focus on Official Mode with all series getting the same attention. The former would, I'd think, be easier and the latter would be more difficult. Anyway, That's just my opinion. Well, That's the end of my rant. I've added my two cents and I'll be going now. -- Signed: ~Toramaru, "Hatred leads to nothing, and revenge brings only emptiness..." |

I hated how Lunamaria joined one side because of a spat with Shinn yet if you fight Shinn in the storymode as her she doesn't have anything to say to him. This was only one of many subplots that weren't addressed in the story mode at all in DWG3.
