^Exactly Diva, it's funny how 2 of the first 4 posters on this thread have actually been rude and snappy to other members themselves, several times I've seen it myself. Just saying.

I think the real problem on this forum (not aimed at any one person in particular) is how butthurt some people get when someone disagrees with them. Now I'm not going to be holier than thou, that was me when I first signed up too, but I like to think I've moved past it now. Just learn to handle a debate maturely people, that's supposed to be what forums are for, debating and sharing views. God forbid we have our own opinions
Everyone in this thread has been rude or insulting at some point.

Literally.
I can't help but feel this thread was created purely for those who feel victimised to try and bully those who they feel 'bully' them.
Get off the high horse then and if you can't take someone having a different opinion, and if it frustrates you so much to the point you need to make a pointless and frankly rude thread to get it off your chest, then you need to look at yourself and ask if you possess the maturity to be on the internet. Because right now, none of the people who agree with this thread do.

Also, you all claim to be feeling victimised or bullied etc but none of your examples involve any form of personal attack. All they involve is a difference in opinion. Thats not bullying and if its affecting you then all I can say is you need to grow up and get not everyone will agree with you.

/thread. :kosho:

Plus, if you guys need to vent about your frustrations or something, there's always the Vent Thread. But for the most part, I agree with Diva.

Oh good lord... How far off track you are, I was arguing about the general principle NOT that particular issue. Quite frankly I don't care that you can't take it seriously, that's your problem, I just wish the moderators would put rude, inconsiderate people in their places.

Because it's just all so hypocritical Mr.Honda, as I said earlier everyone (actually minus you seeing as you're here now ;) ) has been rude at some point on this forum or a complete arse, so they can't start targeting people just because they feel like it.

There's just too many people here with different opinions and personalities for everyone to get along perfectly. There's the Ignore feature if you find someone to be annoying, and the Report feature if it becomes personal and goes beyond the limits of what's allowed here.

I think the point the OP was making was that that limit doesn't seem to be consistent. Some questionable behavior is seemingly allowed, some is not.

I know that the Report feature works, I've used it myself (both as a member and as Staff). Sometimes, the Staff actions take place behind the scenes and we don't see any of it as members. Other times, Staff will publicly take action.

Not going to drag this post on any longer, but everyone should probably just relax a bit find ways to not be so antagonistic towards each other

I had no problem with the original post, LDZ told him there was no reason for a report to be handed out, but when people start shouting out bully about people they don't even know, na ah.

It's because he knows what we were saying applies to him even if it wasn't directly aimed at him in particular. That's it you see, guilty conscience. If he wasn't aware it applied to him or if he could take a criticism he wouldn't have been pressed to argue back.

Yes, you just got read.

Guys, come on. Passive aggressive insults are still insults. You may think you're being clever with snide remarks or something that appears subtle, but it's really not.

Unfortunately, moderators are human. We have to sleep or go to work sometime, and we very easily miss things on the forums, especially in fast-moving topics. That's what the report function is for. Please use it, and someone will get to it as soon as they can.

And because we're human, sometimes we feel that a report isn't as serious as the person reporting it makes it out to be (I am very lenient with swearing myself, for instance). But! We're always willing to listen to people, so if you flag one of us down in PM and explain to us what's going on, or show us a pattern of behaviour, you give us the ability to help you.

That is what we're here for. To help the forum members, which includes everyone aside from spam bots. Disagreeing with someone's opinion is not grounds for disciplinary action, even if the way they phrased their disagreement is a little harsh. On the other hand, if someone's slinging around insults like Molotov cocktails, and they do it after being asked not to, then we can actually look at that as a pattern of behaviour and react appropriately.

Keep in mind that most of just aren't going to publicize any kind of warning (verbal or otherwise) that we hand out, because that's not appropriate. No one wants to be punished in public. We're a gaming community that thrives on the contributions and discussion of our members, not a mob.

Problem seems to be "pack mentality" with some of our regulars on both sides of the fence here... a contrast of opinion means someone else having their tuppence worth defending one side or another and then someone else joins in and so on - before you know it something has snowballed and people are getting genuinely offended. Ive personally seen myself disagree with someone only to find all his usual crowd of friends join in and continually go on the offensive against anything i had to say... as i said pack mentality.

If its any consolation ive seen KW have MUCH worse days and for the record i can say too many of us have been here for YEARS getting away with being too opinionated, too direct and too headstrong but thats just who we are, were not gonna change because someone has taken the pet to someone we say. People just need to click "Ignore", walk away from the keyboard for half and hour and chill... works for me ^_^

Being insulted with I'm not as fabulous as :kosho: twice and being encouraged to leave the forum completely is enough proof that I was insulted harshly and unjustly. Aside from that, I got no problems here now, yet I'm trying my hardest to not post any rant in this forum so everyone won't be annoyed by my impatience anymore. I also know I can't please everyone despite my niceness. Farewell, y'all.

Regardless, I'm still lurking this thread to check new posts.

Sadly, I must agree.
I don't visit the Samurai Warriors subforum, so I'm not witness to what happens there. But I've repeatedly seen rude/offensive remarks about other members (where those other members probably won't read them), or even mangling their usernames, in the Fun Area.
Now I don't know if those childish comments appear cool, cunning or what else to who makes them, but personal attacks were looked down upon and discouraged in the past, and should discouraged now as well.

By the way, pack mentality is actually there as well, fortunately only among few people.

I'm sorry honey but I'm 98% certain that was meant as a joke and if you can't take it as such then you really aren't thick-skinned enough to be on a forum

EDIT: I also only found one such post on :kosho: character thread and nowhere did it say anything about you leaving the forum so....?

As moderators, we don't tend to advertise what actions we take when it comes to disciplinary matters and the like so it's not wise to assume nothing is being done because you aren't privy to all the details. I honestly prefer to let members sort out issues between themselves without having to resort to moderator intervention whenever possible. No one likes to be babied and usually things are settled pretty quickly by the parties involved in the dispute without a third party deciding to take umbrage. Only when it escalates to a high enough level, is intervention really necessary. That's my personal take on it, other mods may deal in a different way.

As for the 'good ol days', I don't recall a time filled with kumbaya where everyone got along. I've been around for years and the good ol' days were filled with the staff being called all sorts of things usually pertaining to how strict the team was. 'Nazi' was a cute term that came up more often than it should have. Something's gotta give and people are always gonna have conflicting opinions and standards.

I concede that there are times when we might not respond to issues quickly enough but again, the staff is comprised of volunteers. We all have other things going on and other concerns that do take up time. Also, the Ignore Function is a thing that can and should be used if you dislike what another member posts.

In any case, can all future concerns be posted in the Forum Discussion Thread? Thanks, guys.
