I notice this is the one game in the subfranchise where Fighting Instinct and DG Cells are usable together, because it seems to me that either DG Cells no longer has a defense debuff attached to it, or only one defense debuff from both skills takes effect.
Which means Katejina might literally be a God Tier pilot. Is she the only one that can combine both together? There has to be others, surely.

so that means i have to fill my SP to lv3 to use the heat End but it will only spend 1 SP gauge to perform?
Pretty sure they're weapon based. Level up your weapons and it'll amp the SP attack associated with it. Though this also brings up a point with how stupid the weapon upgrades are at times. Heavyarms can upgrade the beam saber Heero uses in its arm, but there's no options to upgrade the knife. Well at least this time it's S String actually fires bullets and they modified its charges so it can handle itself better. Radial missiles on C3, extra swing on C4, longer C6 and what not.
The S string is a full set of shot moves now? Also, when does it use the saber. I dont remember it having that as a move in DWG3, did that get added? They just added projectiles whenever it swings its gatling gun. So typically it'll be S3 to S6 that fires off bullets. It's literally added on versus changing of the moveset.
The beamsaber's the finale of the Air SP. It had back in 3 and it's the only instance where Heavyarms pulls out a beam saber.

It's literally added on versus changing of the moveset. i thought that was already the case with HA's moveset in GM3? the last few attacks on the S string fires projectiles, though i'm still not sure whether it counts as a shot based attack or not...

So while I'm playing through Ultimate Mode, I managed to take a gist of some of the crossover stories there. If you want to read the general synopsis you can click the spoilers below
Shangrila Spirit The Shangrila team + Garrod get information from Astonaige & Chan that there is a betting tournament on getting stockpiles of parts. So they participate in many parts of the tournament and get lots of treasures, but problem starts ensuing within the team when they have amassed so many treasures. The guys have a hard debate on how to share the loots, while the girls want to have it quits, until Leina gets angry and tell the guys to snap out of it. After apologizing to each other, they then decide to find who was behind this bet, which turns out to be Ribbons Almark, whose intention is to hold the betting game so that people ended up getting consumed by greed and start hating each other which would lead to wars. Ending They defeated Ribbons, who afterwards disappears within the crumbling HQ. In the epilogue the team decided to donate all of the parts they gathered for charity.
So this is Bug Seabook & Cecily went on to investigate mysterious groups of MS running amok, which turn out to be Mobile Dolls. Milliardo & Treize also appear to help the protagonists. Apparently the MDs were developed in joint by Gihren, Azrael and Bask Om, but Gihren in secret developed an even worse killing machine, the Bugs, unbeknownst of the fellow Earthnoids, which caused a rift in their alliance. In the end all 3 are beaten and both MDs and Bugs are no more.
Newtype's Power Based on Gundam X. Quattro is leading a group in Zinnerman's Garencieres to gather Newtypes because they are being hunted by an unknown group. Tiffa is in the group with Garrod and she helps locate Newtypes. It is then found out that ZAFT was the one behind the Newtype hunting, because Dullindal wants to enact the Destiny Plan. Since the plan only classify people based on genetics, Newtypes which have unmodified genetics like Naturals will mean nothing there. So the Newtype team head on to Messiah when ZAFT was about to shoot it. Ending In the end Quattro, Garrod and Tiffa encounter Dullindal inside Messiah just like Kira did in the official story, but Rey ended up didn't shooting Dullindal, so that they later apologized to the world and seek peace with Newtypes
Earth Descent Operation Based on Zeta Gundam It starts from the Jaburo operation, and when AEUG finds out of the nuclear bomb trap, they immediately going to escape but got intercepted by ZAFT who thought they're part of Titans. There is a branch here whether they want to escape by air or by sea. If by air, AEUG gets attacked by Celestial Being who thought they started war from the last battle. After the fight, AEUG explained to CB about the nuke bomb. Setsuna recklessly plans to disarm the bomb, but Tieria & others straighten him that there's not enough time so they all have to escape as well (lol Veda fails here) If by sea, then AEUG gets attacked by the Druggies team, who intentionally try to hold them back.
Either way the nuclear detonated and they managed to get back to space. It is later reported that Titans have allied with Blue Cosmos and plan to conquer the space. AEUG then meets Haman who declared that Axis has formed an alliance with ZAFT with the intention to conquer the earth. AEUG decided to support neither, and just then they receive a distress signal from Archangel which gets pursued by Titans-Blue Cosmos because they tried to announce that the faction was behind the nuclear bombing.
The final battle is a 3-way battle of Argama-Archangel, Axis-ZAFT and Titans-Blue Cosmos in Colony Laser, AEUG ended up winning, Axis retreated back to asteroid belt, ZAFT seclude themselves too, and Titans & Blue Cosmos heavily lose their influences.
Fire of Axis Based on CCA, basically the whole story but with Zanscare & White Fang helping Neo Zeon. Depending on the story branch you'll have Uso or Heero first helping Londo Bell to fight their respective rivals, but in the end both of them do join. Ending The climax is at the point of Amuro activating Psychoframe and tries to push Axis, but Heero & Uso then tell that both Amuro & Char need to survive for the future. When both of them get away, Uso activates V2's Wings of Light to support Heero, who then proceeds to shoot a fully charged TBR at Axis, totally destroying it. Mission Accomplished.
Prevent the Nuclear Warhead Shooting Based on Stardust Memory Unicorn Bright and Ra Cailum replace the Albion, and the story starts from Gato Gundamjacking the Physalis. It turns out that he's part of the Sleeves, and they're going to launch the Physalis to space. Banagher & Audrey also show up to help Londo Bell, but the two soon disappear upon realizing what Audrey's true identity might be. So the story have route branches following Kou or Banagher. I haven't played Banagher's route yet, but on Kou's route they rescue Trowa who have a clue on the Sleeves' direction. (I LOL'd at Kou when he's totally confused at Trowa introducing himself "I don't have a name, but if you really want to call me, you can use Trowa") It turns out that the Sleeves have raided ORB to utilize its launch facility, so Londo Bell assisted ORB (Cagalli & Athrun) in defeating the Sleeves, but in the end the Physalis managed to launch into space, so Ra Cailum followed suit. Audrey then reveals to the group that she is Mineva and she wants peace, so she asks to be sent to Solomon to meet her father Dozle (who turned out to be still alive). The story branches again here with Kou & Bright sending Audrey to Solomon, and Banagher going to Palau to find out Full Frontal's true intentions. Dozle turned out to heavily support the Sleeves and won't even hear his daughter's plea of peace, so he locked her up and attacked Ra Cailum. They had to fight back and retrieve Audrey again. It turns out that the Sleeves' ultimate plan is to use the Physalis' nuclear warhead explosion to push the now dormant Axis towards Earth. So after the team is reunited, they go to Axis for the final battle against Gato & Frontal. Ending They almost didn't make it in time as Axis is already starting to fall towards Earth's atmosphere, but then Banagher proceeds to push the Axis with his Unicorn. Alone. He then activates the Psychoframe which then creates the same Axis Shock effect of pulling the Axis away from Earth.
Banagher becomes almost dead, but everyone's shoutings especially Audrey's brought him back to life. (LOL at a nod to Unicorn's ending here)
Mid-Air Rescue Operation Natarle Badgiruel is the captain of Audhumla with Banagher, Riddhe, Tieria & Judau among the pilots. Their objective is to escort Audrey whose real identity haven't been revealed yet, but in a raid attack, Audrey along with Judau's sister Leina are kidnapped by the Sleeves. So they have to chase them in limited time. Due to the haste, they ended up stepping on ZAFT's territory in Central Africa which caused a small skirmish, but after that Natarle is able to explain the situation and make a truce with ZAFT. Eventually they're able to rescue Leina first, but when they encountered Frontal to get Audrey back, they learn out that the Earth Federation actually conspired with Zeon to get more funding by staging Mineva's kidnapping. And the Audhumla team gets the full blame for both failing to escort her and inciting unnecessary war against ZAFT. Just when they won the battle and manage to get Audrey back, Dozle appeared out of nowhere in his Big Zam, and he wants to take her daughter back and stage a total invasion of Earth, so he acts as the final boss of this operation. Ending In the end Audrey tells her father that she has now walked the different way from him because they now have different beliefs. Dozle painfully respects his daughter's decision and pulls his troops back. But since the Audhumla team are now marked as fugitives by the EFF, Natarle & co. now wander on their own
Rampaging Destroy Gundam The Minerva group teams up with Kira on peaceful terms to quell an outbreak of Destroy Gundams wreaking havoc in many places. It turns out that Rau is behind all of this. He obtained blueprints of Destroy Gundam from conspiring with Earth Alliance, and then mass-producing it and giving them to every enhanced pilots out there - Extendeds, Boostedmen and even Cyber Newtypes. He managed to do all this by colluding with Muruta Azrael, utilizing Neo Roanoke and allying with Neo Zeon. His ultimate goal is to plunge the whole universe into a war of chaos, so ZAFT officially marked him as a fugitive.
As they progress through the operation, Neo somehow manages to regain his memory as Mu and defects to Minerva, and Azrael got arrested after they're able to prove his collusion with Rau. Ultimately they're able to pin down Rau who is also using Destroy Gundam himself, and kill him for good.
Shinn didn't trust Kira when he first joined, but as the operation goes on he starts opening up, and they ended up being in very good terms by the end of the operation, and they also get along well with most of the enhanced pilots they've saved.
I LOL'd at how Lunamaria got jealous on Shinn when Rosamia and Ple-Two called him oniichan until Kira pointed it out to her that he must've had that persona because he used to have a sister himself. And if you pick the ZZ route in space, it's where Talia scolds Glemy for putting children (read: Ples) on those MAs, which made the latter say "I'm sorry, Mama"
Other points of interest I like how they have the Athrun x Cagalli pairing intact within the crossover stories. Women's Battle is an operation where Henken leads a patrolling warship which for some reason currently have no women in it, all guys. And all they encounter are many conflicts among girls about various subjects, and they need to calm both sides down. One of the stages is where the group finds Lacus and Cagalli. Suddenly Cagalli gets jealous of Lacus because of the current information Spoiler: click to toggle Pre-Battle Cagalli: Lacus, you're Kira's girlfriend right? Lacus: Yes indeed Banagher: Uh, but isn't Lacus supposed to be Athrun's fiancee? Cagalli: Yeah that! Officially it's still stated like that! I demand an explanation! Athrun: Hey, what are you saying... Cagalli: I can't do nothing seeing my brother gets cheated like that! Besides, Athrun is m..my... Kira: Cagalli, are you alright? Cagalli: Kira, shut up for now! Lacus: I already told you that the engagement is not of my own will... Cagalli: You said that again! Okay, I have to fight you now. If I win, I'll take Athrun away completely! Lacus: Oh~ What to do~ Kamille: Hey! They started fighting each other!
Post-Battle Cagalli: Athrun, so you're Lacus' ally too right! You're not clear on it from the beginning! Athrun: Cut it out, Cagalli. I've made my feelings clear. When this mission is over. I'll be coming back to your place for sure. Cagalli: ...!! I, I see! Then I'll forgive you for today! Lacus, we'll talk again later! Lacus: Heehee, Athrun, you're so kind. Athrun: Please, I already have enough of this.
I guess it's a good thing they don't have Meyrin featured here yet, eh? They do sound quite interesting in theory, in fact I quite like the Nuclear Warhead story. But it's just too bad that there are no cutscenes or voiced intermissions to make it more substantial..

i assumed the fact that heero blew up a nuclear powered asteroid near the atmosphere would cause some serious problems for earth. That depends. If at this point Axis broke in half and the front piece was what was heading towards Earth, then it should just be a large rock. Heero destroying said rock shouldn't have any major repercussions assuming this piece of Axis broke up into pieces small enough to burn up in Earth's atmosphere.
These storylines in Ultimate seem generally interesting for the most part. A few of them seem a bit lame though
Spoiler: click to toggle Ribbons running a Junk competition to incite wars is hard to believe.

I actually have another question. I've rarely seen pilots out of their regular suits in all the gameplay I've seen for this so far. Does that happen randomly anymore, or was it removed?

Iv only seen pilots with different suits for the story parts of ultimate mode, example Dozel using destroy gundam.
As for other randoms, once you have beaten the last mission the musha, musha MKII and knight will have a chance to appear ingame as a suit for random pilot in battle, iv seen this for both ally and enemy sides.

I never saw anything like in past games, Luna with Destiny for Ex: Now it's just the Zaku and Impulse, I guess these time pilots switch between MS that they've used at some point.
It's great actually, no more that silly mix from the past

I disagree. I actually enjoyed the randomness factor of the previous games. What annoys me the most about this though is that they can't seem to give us a middle ground. Why can't they simply just give us an option to turn random suits for pilots on and off? It surely can't be that difficult. Instead they just take it out completely.

Lunamaria getting jealous because more characters are calling Shinn their big bro? Poor girl doesn't realize that the rings practically on her finger already so she has nothing to worry about since Shinn is quite loyal.

I guess I won't have to get the Vita version anytime soon. The Grind was horrible though, I stayed up for around 2 days-ish trying to get those final Shotdown amounts for Cards unlocking.
And Yes. You must complete the game 100%. That means getting every single Medal in Ultimate Mode, getting every Card in the Card Collection, and finally getting everything done in Official Mode including any missing cutscene. I was missing the Cutscene with the Radish blowing up since I never left Emma alone when I did this.
I can definitely say 100% Completion is much harder than All Mission Clear in Musou 2 w/ making every Character a New Type for the 360 version's achievements. I might play some 3 for fun just to get this game out of my system, I did not enjoy it as much as I wanted to. Due to many flaws the game has. Here's hoping Omega Force won't have anything to do with the next game.

Here's hoping Omega Force won't have anything to do with the next game. well, seeing the lack of effort in this one, there might not be any next game for the series.
the last time OF doesn't have anything to do with a musou game was...KR2 and that didn't end well either.

Quick question... did any of the older playable suits get an upgrade from a class 2 to a class 1? There has been a few ive been itching to see get the respect they deserve this time after seeing some interesting choices last time round (Guncannon!)

None of the previous class 2s have been upgraded to class 1 in this game. They were too busy adding SEED units.
