Just came from my local gameshop. They already had my copy of "Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn" in, but I couldn't pick it up yet because I already had another game to take with me (One Piece: Unlimited World Red). Hopefully, I'll be able to pick it up this friday. Played a bit of it and enjoyed it so far. Nothing new under the sun at first glance, but that's not a bad thing to me. The Gundam-games are just fun to play between other "Warriors"-games. I'm not even a Gundam-fan. :P

An all-in-one bundle already? Wow they didn't have that in the Japan/Asian versions :meantongue:

So if one is going to buy that...

Full game: £39.99/€49.99/$69.95
All-in-one DLC: £24.99/€29.99/$44.95
Total: £64.98/€79.98/$114.90
i rather buy another 8000/10000 Yen JP import than this cash cow, that Otokojuku special edition made even more sense than this right now...

$45 for 5 new mobile suits and cutscene-less missions? that's like even more expensive than the actual game itself...
It actually 100% is. The game is only 39.99 USD. I'm assuming those will actually be 6.99 in US/Ca though. Even then, screw the missions, just get the suits.

So I imported the UK version of the game (live in NA). Can I buy the dlc from the North American PSN or do I need to buy it from the European PSN for it to work? (I'm pretty sure I'll need the EU account to get those, but just asking in case Im wrong and can make my life a little easier) :p

DLC on the day of release date? Good to see that they have it all prepared for the players.

But that bundle...can't we just have a bundle set like MS sets or Stage sets instead?

Going to need the EU DLC. DLC isn't cross-region compatible (if that's even a phrase)

Keep in mind that I posted the EU/PAL prices not the US ones. They are 1:1 from the € prices most of the time so the bundle could be $29.99 and $5 for a single suit.

Alright so can anyone 100% confirm custom soundtrack is intact? If it is then this game got so amazing so fast. Only $40, pre load, all the DLC day 1, and DLC seems like it'll be cheaper than the last one. It's gonna be hard for this game to suck I know that much.

I hope the preload actually works. USFIV didn't and you had to wait until when the store normally updated.

I finally am getting me my first PS3 ever, but I think I'm gonna have to skip this one.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Gundam fan, and I have no problems playing SD Generation in full Japanese, but this is basically the only Gundam game that ever comes across the Pacific, and hearing that they aren't gonna bother with English voices disappoints me.

Outta curiousity, since this is the case, I think I'll try DWG 2 first.

So, in this situation, I think I'll wait for the next DWG game, which'll probably be started in 2016.

Our good friends at Tecmo Koei were giving a way a bunch of free DLC (Red Comet & Bearguy) through Facebook. You have to be quick with these things, but I was lucky enough to be able to snag both DLC-items! Yay!

I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of Gundam and have little to no knowledge of the source material. However, I do like the DYNASTY WARRIORS: GUNDAM-games. Have played an hour earlier today, and am having a blast (pun intended)! I also own the other games in the series, but have never really played those enough to say much about them. Maybe I should. I do like the cel-shaded graphics of the third game...

Also, here's the European version of the game in all its physical glory!

I'm planning to hopefully get my repaired ps3 in the mail from Sony today, so i can play this game next tuesday.

Though i'm really disappointed that Koei was too lazy to give this game a proper english dub option like the previous installments. At least they were reasonable enough to lower the price to $40 (which i personally think all DW type games should be at launch).

Koei has improved alot, since i can still remember not even two years ago that they released Kens Rage 2 digital only and still charged an insane $60 for it. The digital only One Piece games were also overpriced from what i remember. Hopefully $40 will be the new standard for any future digital only entries. :)

Honestly, I don't think Koei had anything to say regarding the release of DYNASTY WARRIORS: GUNDAM Reborn. It's Bandai Namco's property, and Koei is probably only publishing. Same happened with One Piece: Pirate Warriors.

Why else would there not be a Vita-version? Tecmo Koei loves the Vita! One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 didn't get a Vita-release in the west, either. And that was also essentially a Bandai Namco-game...

I think that I'll wait for the next title for those mecha as I don't see why they wouldn't be on its roster.

if they gave away any 1 of the 4 DLC MS+mission bundle(not really caring about WZC) for free as preorder/first print/facebook giveaway bonus then my interest for this might be slightly higher, been wanting to try FA Uni, X1, or Qan T but there's no way in hell would i bought any of those.

It was entirely Namco that decided not to bring it to Vita in the West, because nobody owns Vitas, and even more people don't own Vitas in the West.

I just want to know why Jojo got a physical copy and this didn't. Weird way to go about that, Jojo is a much greater risk than Gundam to release in the West.

EDIT: So since the BGMS were renmoved, how do you even add them in. Was the custom OST setup not just assigning a different song to play in place of the selected song? If the themes were removed, is there no way to force the actual songs to play at the appropriate time?

When they removed songs in the previous DWG titles, didn't they substitute themes from the previous DWG games in their place? We may have a case of that again. If they do in fact do that, you would probably have to listen in each mission and figure out where to swap out what themes.

That's my best guess right now though. We will have to wait and see what they give us for themes. :/

DYNASTY WARRIORS: GUNDAM Reborn is a good game for me and I am enjoying it quite a bit. However, I can't seem to stop thinking that some storylines come to an abrupt end. I'm not really very knowledgeable about the Gundam-universe, but it feels to me like sometimes, they skip ahead in some storylines. Is this just me or is that actually true?

It's true. There were some characters and battles/scenes that were cut from the game that were originally from the anime itself. (For example, Gundam SEED was suppose to have that desert battle.) If you want to know more about the story, I suggest watching the anime itself. At least the game version has shown enough summary on some of the series' main plot.

Since I'm a big Gundam fan that have watched most of the Gundam series, I don't really mind about the stories with a few missing events from the original anime. It's a game, good thing we have the other mode that has crossovers with other Gundam series. ;)

Did they actually add placeholder songs though?

In the DWG 3 NA version they definitely swapped out all the anime themes that played during cut scenes for themes that were in the previous DWG titles. The question is however if those older themes existed in DWG 3 JP to begin with, which would require someone to compare the 2 versions soundtracks. Of course, we'll know for sure if this is the case in DWG Reborn within 2 days time anyway.
