Yeah I can confirm they replace a theme with 1 song in DWG3 at least. Power was replaced by Textures Melee in both a cutscene and one of Setsuna's history battles. So when it comes out (or now even there's a bunch of playthroughs of the game up already) compare the cutscenes with the Japanese and English versions and replace that.

Did they actually add placeholder songs though?
In the DWG 3 NA version they definitely swapped out all the anime themes that played during cut scenes for themes that were in the previous DWG titles. The question is however if those older themes existed in DWG 3 JP to begin with, which would require someone to compare the 2 versions soundtracks. Of course, we'll know for sure if this is the case in DWG Reborn within 2 days time anyway.
In the JP/CN version, the old GW1-2 BGMs weren't there. The only old BGMs returning are Musha Gundam's Theme (Dead End) and Knight Gundam's Theme (Holy War)

DYNASTY WARRIORS: GUNDAM Reborn is a good game for me and I am enjoying it quite a bit. However, I can't seem to stop thinking that some storylines come to an abrupt end. I'm not really very knowledgeable about the Gundam-universe, but it feels to me like sometimes, they skip ahead in some storylines. Is this just me or is that actually true?
It's true. There were some characters and battles/scenes that were cut from the game that were originally from the anime itself. (For example, Gundam SEED was suppose to have that desert battle.) If you want to know more about the story, I suggest watching the anime itself. At least the game version has shown enough summary on some of the series' main plot.

Since I'm a big Gundam fan that have watched most of the Gundam series, I don't really mind about the stories with a few missing events from the original anime. It's a game, good thing we have the other mode that has crossovers with other Gundam series. ;)
Yeah, defiantly watch the anime.mthe English seed cast is really good.

So my copy can't preload. Tuesday's gonna be awesome... **** digital.

EDIT: So on PSN is says preload available on June 26, which is already over, but on Sony's website storefront is says "available 6/30/2104." Did Koei mistype the preload date in the item's description or what?

So I played some Official modes just now and boy, though the AIs aren't entirely super smart but they definitely now how to evade and attack normally. Plus, the Burst modes they used actually made it a bit more challenging. That satisfied me much and this is just Normal mode!

So far, it going well for me for a start. Plus, I give kudos to Char's line on Garma when Gihren was on TV and asked everyone what kind of a man Garma is.

I was wondering about this too, as my friend let me log on his account to get it, but it's well past my Automatic Update time and it still hasn't done anything. Perhaps something is wrong on their end.

The only series I still need to finish in Official Mode is "Mobile Suit Gundam: Seed Destiny." After that, I guess we're going for Ultimate Mode? :P

Didn't think DWG was your cup of tea, but I guess free games can't be too bad. So it's 12:45 Est and the preload still hasn't started, I don't know how to feel about that  .

Im gonna just assume someone screwed up and the game won't unlock until the store update tomorrow, because that seems like exactly what would happen.

It's really not, but I'll give it a shot since it's not going to cost me anything, and $90 for Battride War 2 probably isn't going to happen with my budget. I haven't played this series since the second one. What have they changed/added since then?

Apparently the game is supposed to preload at midnight, according to some people on GameFAQs. I'm not sure what purpose that serves if it's going to come out within 12 hours of that, but whatever.

Yeah apparently "preload" is some foreign concept to them. There's quite a bit change wise, but it still feels the same and has mostly all the same mechanics. From what I've seen about this game, it seems really musou-oriented like sp attacks, burst mode, partner attacks, and so on.

Preloading when the game is available is not a preload. Steam had this down 5 years ago, and most other games on PSN at least gave you like 6 hours before launch to load them.

EDIT: PS3 keeps trying to start the preload now, and keeps failing.

Awesome. Was super hoping to DL it over night so I could play when I wake up, but I guess it's too hard to fulfill the preload thing THEY ARE OPENLY ADVERTISING

If they had just released a physical copy, I could go out and buy that in the morning, but now, I have to wait until 6PM tomorrow, and then DL a 10 gig file on PSN's slow ass network, so that'll take a good 6-8 hours I'm sure.

In the DWG 3 NA version they definitely swapped out all the anime themes that played during cut scenes for themes that were in the previous DWG titles. The question is however if those older themes existed in DWG 3 JP to begin with, which would require someone to compare the 2 versions soundtracks. In the JP/CN version, the old GW1-2 BGMs weren't there. The only old BGMs returning are Musha Gundam's Theme (Dead End) and Knight Gundam's Theme (Holy War)
The PAL version did not replace the anime songs with prior series BGM but rather just uses the games own BGM to cover the blanks. I think that also means we have less slots of BGM to replace with.

Have fun figuring out which track replaces which during Official Mode, was a pain to figure out.

When the store updates. If the game can't preload, it;s because it;s not on the PSN servers, meaning it wont go up until the store updates.

Are we actually limited in how many songs we can have? Can we not just add songs into the tracklist and play them manually?

The only good thing this game added is the Charged Shot. Otherwise it stripped out the functional bases from 3 and moved functions like Hyper Jammer to a dash input which severely reduces the usefulness of Deathscythe and Blitz. Sure it acts as stealth, but that's pointless as hell in this game that can't even be bothered to have walls in half the stages.

Emergency Dash from the last game is still in but it's nerfed. Acts like One Piece's dash now so instead of canceling you out of normals, it just delays your next input for after the dash. Ruins what made Emergency Dash awesome in the last game.

They also traded out the Assists for a less than stellar tag out for SP attacks at the end when you use Bursts.

Bursts are also pretty much a carbon copy of DW8's awakening system. Only somehow crappier and much shorter. Only a few characters actually gain any benefit from burst. It's mostly a lot of atk/def + or range up shenanigans.

I would say for you though, the best new suits for gameplay will be the DLC ones. Especially FA Unicorn which has a moveset twice as big as anything else in the game.

The slots we have are indeed limited and we can't add additional tracks. We can't even play any of the tracks from the XMB over the BGM in game.
