It really makes you think what the hell they spent their time with making this game. There are less missions from each story compared to DWG2 I'm pretty sure, no ZZ, and Unicorn is missing episodes with the last one being the only one with an excuse. The gameplay editions are nothing new really, they've all been done in One Piece. Haven't played Ultimate mode yet but I'm pretty sure nothing new there either. The game is fun though which is good, it's definitely no "Shin" or "Reborn" for that matter. |

Ultimate mode is honestly pretty garbage. Instead of giving us a decent and entertaining crossover story, it's just a bunch of short scenarios with no voice acting and crappy portrait cut-ins for dialogue. It's very much a portable type of game mode. Which would be ok if it were strictly Vita, but it's not. Plus you people in the west got screwed over on getting that version too. |

I didn't know this game had such a bad reception. My friend seems to be enjoying it, but we'll see how he feels once the novelty wears off. It's a shame this one didn't turn out since the spinoff Musou games tend to have way more experimentation and fun mechanics than the mainline series do. |

I'm enjoying it so far. The game has solid core gameplay but is far, far too easy. Extended dash, quick musou gauge fill, charge shots...and then burst mode is just ridiculous, haha. But yeah I'm having fun. I'll have to dive deeper tomorrow. I also have no idea why there is so much Seed in this game when a lot of people don't even like Seed. In my opinion, there is no reason Seed Destiny should have a story mode before 00. |

It's still far more playable than Shin Hokuto Musou, don't get me wrong. Really I don't know how you can do worse than that game. Sad shame too since the first one was great. It's just as a Gundam fan, it's a let down because it's only appealing to one set of fans instead of the general Gundam fans. Story mode also adds nothing here since they just with redoing the anime's story modes which are easily the weakest scenarios because either we already know what happened or it's a terrible recreation. With the gameplay as it is, it'll never be a good adaption of the story that makes you feel invested. And with story mode being as meh as it is, you only have the other modes left of which there is only one. And then for those of us interested in gameplay, it dumbed down a lot of elements from the last game which takes away unique features from this franchise. For me killing Emergency Dash's offensive application was the greatest hit. ED made 3 much so much easier to combo and let you get past a lot of otherwise lousy air attacks and still maintain the combo. It's far more obvious now since just about every charge attack that gets cancelled into a boost attack takes you into the air. There's some questionable property changes I'm not a fan of either. For example, Deathscythe Hell's S6 and C6 end with the same attack. The only major difference is the added attack before the slam in the charge attack. Thus you had pros and cons to using either attack over the other as the situation called for it. Good design. Here, they removed the AOE property of the S6 so now it's a crappy slash with a narrow hit box and ultimately forgettable in this state. Air strings are also extended by 2 hits, but these are just looped animations of the already existing attack. It honestly adds little since you could get the same results with Emergency Dash in the last game and normal damage in the air is normally weak as is. Ultimately though the lack of actual stages compared to the previous games is gonna be what hurts it most. Ultimate Mode scenarios just aren't that long or engaging and the maps are generally tiny so you spend like 7 minutes a mission. Edited by Daosiying, Wed Jul 2, 2014 6:16 am.

What level does a character have to be to get their full movesets? Also, is the custom ST thing broken or something? It's randomly playing music I have saved locally that I didn't insert into the custom music mode. I had a song in there, replaced it with another, but that first song randomly plays still, and is not anywhere in my music list in game EDIT: Man, it is crazy how much better the Strike is than Impulse, especially with how SPs change the pack on you for the Imp. It's more on the PS3's default music player setting. When you select the song in the custom soundtrack menu, just before you choose that song, press Square. There should be options to set Shuffle and Repeat. The default is usually set to Shuffle on. You'll want to set that to Shuffle off and Repeat track. |

To obtain the full moveset of an MS, a pilot has to be Lv. 20. In the case of main MS units, they have a Charged SP attack that can be accessed at Lv. 30. |

Character unlocking is weird. You'd think you;d get someone like Mu in Official Mode, but apparently not. |

This guy on GameFAQs discovered something that is very, very useful. I'm not sure if it was in the other games, but if it was, it is certainly a whole lot more noteworthy now. Here's his topic: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/730637-dynasty-warriors-gundam-reborn/69563184 Basically, when you go into a dash attack, wait until you finish dashing and then tap R1. You will descend very quickly, allowing you quick access to a character's entire moveset again as opposed to the air SSS string. I'm sure other people have already figured this out, but it certainly makes this game a whole lot more enjoyable. Anyways, I'm having a great time with this game. There are tons of characters and to me, this is easily the best gameplay the Gundam series has every had (only when utilizing the above trick). The stories are far better than they were in DWG3, though, they certainly aren't that great. Edited by Flashbang Incentive, Wed Jul 2, 2014 5:07 pm.

The stories already don't include everyone on the roster, so there's no reason for them to. Just keep the anime based storylines and improve them. Eventually they could get pretty good. They don't need to go super in-depth. |

there is a section in the database that tells you how to unlock the cards, and what those cards reward you with (playable pilots and suits, in some cases). They aren't exactly organized in any useful way though...at least not for someone who doesn't know Gundam that well. |

Err... SEED is ridiculously popular over there and so is SEED Destiny. There was also the HD Remasters to consider as it put SEED and Destiny back on everyone's radar over there. So it makes sense that SEED/Destiny and Unicorn got so much love and next game Unicorn is going to get even more love as it wasn't finished for this one. Makes me wonder if 00 S1/S2/Movie will even be the new official modes of the next game or not as they is quite a bit of additions needed to make that work. Would be easier to give Wing one as it would only need these playable characters and units for TV and Endless Waltz. Playable Characters - 3 Quatre Raberba Winner Chang Wufei Lucrezia Noin Mecha - 15 Wing Deathscythe Heavyarms Sandrock Shenlong Sandock Kai Altron Tallgeese Leo Aries Taurus Vayeate Mercurius Virgo Virgo II If they want to do the Movie as well... Mecha - 6 Deathsycthe Hell (Endless Waltz) Heavyarms Kai (Endless Waltz) Sandrock Kai (Endless Waltz) Altron (Endless Waltz) Tallgeese III Serpent Sally Po could be ignored like Andrew was in this. While Quatre's posse could be ignored like Cagalli's M1 pilots. Hilde and Lady Une being regulated to NPC only is something that Koei would do. Mecha like Cancer being passed over wouldn't surprise me. Much less than 00 S1/2/Movie for sure. Gives them more time to milk 00 as DLC too by holding back on giving it an official mode. Endless Waltz seems like it could be saved for another entry and for DLC milking. Edited by SazukeEX, Thu Jul 3, 2014 3:41 am.

Going forward, if Koei insists on doing sub only, I may skip out on thier stuff. |They only sub dialogue, so I have no idea what characters are saying during combo burst, SPs, combo SPs etc. Really lazy on their part, and yet some of you people prefer this? |

Maybe they should add some sub for those too. I would totally approve that. If you definitely watch a lot of ENG subbed Gundam series then you would get used to what they're saying. Example, Setsuna's "Owera Gundam" is obviously his "I am Gundam". And the usual 'IKEI' is like "FIRE" or "EAT THIS" quote. It's the same for One Piece Warriors. Watch the anime and you'll enjoy hearing that iconic piece played in gameplay. |

Sub doesn't really bother me. Sure, I don't know what they're saying at during SP attacks and whatnot, but, the JP voices are infinitely better than the English ones. The English voices they used in DWG3, at least. Hearing some raw emotion during an SP attack is better than a generic half-***ed line that I can understand, IMO. Would I rather have it dubbed? Probably. But the sub doesn't bother me that much, as they are some positives to it. |

THIS 100% Its laughable that people are trying to dismiss this as a concern, and I'm from the subbed anime is better for me than dubbed camp.. but keep in mind I'm only watching anime and there's always only 1 script, but this is a GAME with quite a few thousand phrases, some of which happen in battle that will be lost to the ether because of Koei's LAZY subbing process (its why they CAN'T sub the things he mentioned) they're only subbing the things that japanese players have to read, anything that's spoken outside of that does't have a template to type words into. so yeah, thanks Obama. |

It's a shame too, because the gameplay is amazing, best ever, but the localization is terrible, and I desperately want to love this game. And to the people saying the JP voices are better, LOLNOPE. Japanese Athrun, Setsuna, Dearka, Treize, Zechs, Duo, Gato, Lockon, Allelujah, Scirocco and Full Frontal are all worthless husks compared to their dub voices. |

At least Lunamaria and Shinn both sound awesome in Sub and Dub versions. Though some of the characters, especially a few female characters, sound horrid in Subs with their ridiculously loud and squeaky voices. It isn't cute in the West. Maybe in the East that's popular but here it makes many of our ears bleed. |

They Don't Make Gundam for people in the west. The characters have high pitched voices because that's the personality the writers and creators wanted for the characters. Its fine if that's such a turn off that you prefer a more subdued delivery from an English speaking voice actress, but speak for yourself, Not everyone in the west is averse to loud squeaky voices, some of us have been watching anime since the days when they called it japanimation where ALL you got were fansubs, It's nice to have options. |
