so i finally got the game, used, dirt cheap, and surprisingly still had useable DLC codes :beard: , i guess the owner didn't took Bearguy or the Red MS DLC stage seriously

after playing for a bit, i've been wondering, does the picking "Favorite" decreases team point gained for your main pilot? and does picking less than 4 favorite will give you more points per-character? or let me rephrase it, does emptying the "favorites" section gives you more Team Points for your main Pilot?

same question also applies for partners that are also playable characters, since they also pops up in the team point screen, do they also take away your main pilot's team points reward?

another question about partners, say, i have Dearka unlocked as Partner but not as Pilot yet, does using him as a partner still give you pilot points that you can immediately use after you unlock him later as a pilot? or do i have to unlock him as a Pilot first before he can gain Team Points as a partner?

I'm kinda hoping an announcement for DWG 4 comes in a few months. Would be fun to see this segment of the forum alive again.

the last time they renamed a musou title to Shin~something, that series were immediately discontinued, the same seems to be the case here, apparently outside of DW, the moniker Shin means "Hail Mary, let's cram as much stuffs as we can on this one and then calls it quits for this title"

Except the Gundam series sells significantly better than Hokuto ever did, afaik. I don't see any reason to discontinue the series from a profit standpoint

Also remember that the Shin name change before Hokuto was Shin Sangoku Musou.

I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or so we get a new announcement for a DWG game. Iron Blooded Orphans seems to be well received so far, so if it stays on track, there will certainly be some opportunities for the DWG franchise to make some popular additions. Plus Iron Blooded Orphans is getting a dub, making it an even greater opportunity for potential sales. Either way, if they intended to include Iron Blood, we probably won't hear anything about a new DWG until at least a few months after the series has finished.

Also there is tons of room for improvement in this franchise. Unicorn was never wrapped up properly, while various other series could stand to receive various new suits, and pilots. That or if they do a new game, it could be made with next gen consoles in mind, which could mean a major shake up in what content would be carried over from previous games.

i'm well aware of that, actually included that bit on my post, which you quoted, if you actually read it.

Unicorn's addition kinda overrules this, if they wanted to they can always put half finished series in the game just for the sake of being in the game, it's not like finished series gets finished contents either, just look at F91, V and X, aside from V they didn't even get actual enemies/rivals, let alone a story.

True. To be clear though I am using the term "finished" a little loosely in this case. As far as I know we don't know the length of Iron Blooded Orphans yet, or how many seasons it will have. If they do the two season setup, I could see Bandai only waiting until the first season is done before pushing Koei on making IBO inclusions.

While they certainly don't have to do this either, I think its more ideal that a series is either complete or deep into its running by the time they are added to DWG. This would be sensible mostly so the right characters can be added, and so there is proper direction in Original Mode scenarios. Not to mention that its important so we get a better grasp on suits, and what their move sets should be. Even Unicorn at least had the Novels to fall back on regarding significant character, and suit adds back when characters were being added in DWG 3. While characters like Full Frontal were just being introduced in the OVAs, we at the least knew they would remain relevant in the series thanks to the Novels.

Also I think IBO would probably get more attention than F91, V, and X would merely due to the fact that it is new, on top of the fact that it is getting a dub. We were smothered with 00 adds in DWG 3, so I could easily see this happening again with IBO. I'm not saying that this should be done, but more so that it seems likely given the trend we've been seeing regarding character adds in this franchise.

the Gundam VS series fasttracked IBO for VS force, they already have 2 Barbatosses planned, and movesets from the GvG games were always noted to be much more superior than their DWG counterparts, which are less show accurate and more simplified made-ups, i mean just look at Gundam MKII...

smothered? i don't think 2 playable units, of which didn't really get any place in the storyline aside from Reborns being a leader of 1 faction is "smothering" , not everyone chooses to purchase the remaining 80% of the 00 adds, all of which are DLC, and also didn't have any bearing to the game's storyline either...smothered is only true like on "we were smothered with SEED adds in DWGR", now that's an actual legit overdose of a series addition...and a pretty unwelcomed one for my taste... :uh:

I'm also hoping Reconguista in G gets a unit in. I really like the G-Self (it's one of my favorite Gundam) & I also want Yggdrasil as a giant space boss, but I feel that the negative reception will shove it with AGE as those installments people never want to acknowledge. And I haven't been won over with IBO, which makes me feel even more like an outcast.

Plus, we didn't really get proper 00 representation. Yeah, DWG 3's story focused far too much on Setsuna & Ribbons, but everything else was DLC. Where's the Arche? Where's Regnant? What about the Thrones or the Innovator units?

Just sayin'.

and Maxi Boost has Char's Zaku II transform into Char's Z'Gok in the middle of battles. Both series do stupid things with move sets sometimes. I also am not sure on whether adding Barbatos so fast in VS is a good idea, but at least VS as a game series is known to have several variants of the same suit, so they can get away with it easily enough.

Also my personal favourite with dumb things DWG does with move sets is the 00 Gundam riding Raiser like a Surf board. I'm just saying I'd like Koei to at least try to do IBO some justice with movesets, instead of doing silly or stupid things.

I was using 00 as an example in particular because it was the last recent dubbed series we got that had a large focus. I'm including the dlcs into that because it is frankly stupid that 4/5 of the DLC slots in that game were used primarily on 00. Regardless of how you cut it, we both know that 00 made up most of the DLC due to popularity at the time. My original point though is that I could see something similar happening to IBO. We could get 2+ IBO adds, along with potential DLC. That is assuming IBO remains popular of course.

I was also referring to Reborn when I mentioning "the trend we've been seeing regarding character adds in this franchise." I didn't see a point in directly bringing that one up though because its been talked to death about at this point. Since you bought it up though, yeah it was stupid. I don't think however we will see a repeat of Shin. There are a few reasons why, such as there being various new Gundam series available to add, along with the fact that Shin didn't do so well in sales (at least last I checked). I think we'll see more diverse roster adds again like with DWG 2, or 3 if we ever get another DWG.

I suspect we'll get at least 1-2 adds for G Reco if we get a new DWG. Probably G-Self at the least. I could see 00 still getting Arche, and Regnant as well. 00 Qant opened the way for potential movie adds to. As for AGE, assuming there are not stupid legal issues in the way, there are a few things they could do there. AGE would either try to do the protag from each generation, or focus on a single generation. They could also just focus on the Memory of Eden movie by just adding Asemu, and Zeheart though.

Don't get your hopes too high though !
Remember that today is April 1st =)

I'd rather wait for an official announcement.
Armored Core 6 also got leaked today, which I find hard to believe.

Shame on BK if both announcements he shared on Twitter end up being wrong :p

It's really time we got a new Gundam Musou but don't be excited just yet, it's April 1st so we never know.

Also one thing leave me pessimistic. It's using the exact same "2" as Musou Orochi 2/Ultimate so it could be a made-up picture.

Just a hint here: in Gundam Warriors 2's JP logo they also used the exact same 2 as the one used in EN's Warriors Orochi 2 too (Maou Sairin in Japan)

Yeah, I'm really sick of all this pressure to jump to next gen. Maybe if they did enough to justify a jump to next gen, but otherwise this would just be a pain.

Not to get anyone's hopes up, but didn't the Build Fighters OVA get its initial announcement on April 1st? As far as I know that is still happening, so at the very least, this wouldn't be the first time a Gundam related announcement just so happened to align with April 1st.

pretty much i mean FATE Extella looks more like a VITA game with a PS4 port, also if anything is capable to run in VITA it's definitely PS3 capable too

plus come on, VITA? it seems like they chose the wrong Playstation to discontinue and one to keep supporting....
