So with the name changing in Japan, can we have a name change to Gundam Warriors pretty please?

Not sure how interested I am overall. Playable MAs sounds crazy and some of the minor core changes sound good, but if it's really 50+% SEED/Destiny additions I can't see myself wanting to get this.

This is great news! After Fist of the North Star and One Piece started coming out I was convinced that the Gundam side of the Warriors series had ended. Can't wait to hear more about the roster and story mode (though I'm surprised there's no 00 story mode given how many suits are already finished after all the DLC from DWG 3...)

that's because all of the 00 units in the game are S2 ones, if they wanted to make something official they must go back to S1 first, just like how SEED managed to get an official mode

Woo-Hoo Dynasty Warriors Gundam 4 (Shin Gundam Musou) coming on PS3 & PS Vita and 19/12/2013 (1 day before my birthday - 20/12/2013 "well that my birthday present") ^v^ ^o^ and what even better it already available for pre-order at yesasia.com (both version) calling a hint but I having the feeling the European version will be released around mid-summer or later 2014

if this keeps up, the localization(if there's going to be one), would probably be called DW Gundam SEED instead...
I actually thought this would happen but with Gundam 00 instead. I'm surprised and concerned that it took this kind of turn.
I figured that, because it was the most recent of the big ones (AGE not going to be getting any love anytime soon), 00 would be getting a story mode and a crap-load of units, MA, and grunts. Since they've gone the SEED direction instead, it makes me wonder two things.

1. SEED really is that popular in Japan, but I actually find the franchise to be overrated, especially when it comes to games that should allow the other installments some time (Wing, G Gundam, After War X...).
2. Despite the additional factors of mid-air combat and warships, the roster won't be that different from DWG 3, with the exception of more SEED and new Unicorn units. If any other franchise would like to get more units, then others might have to suffer as a result (ZZ and Victory might be squeezed out of this version).

It sucks (in a way, but I actually prefer not having it) that 00 won't have a story mode, but that doesn't mean 00 cannot have any new units.

If Full Boost won't be ported to the PS3 anytime soon, I can see this game trying to milk that game's popularity by providing the machines that were in that game. All six machines (I know Sevaree isn't playable in Full Boost... it's one of 00 Raiser's summons) from DWG 3 would be in this game, and joining them would be the Arche Gundam. If anybody wants to play Season 1 (which I like a lot more than Season 2 for about a dozen reasons), they may have to make do with either the Exia (my favorite of Setsuna's units) or, if they actually do put that machine in the game, Throne Drei (if only to get the Kugimiya fans to buy, but even as a huge Nena fan, I find putting a mecha with limited attack capabilities in a game with hack-and-slash tendancies rather dubious). And, the grunts from 00 if they were to appear in "Normal Mode" (if in the game) would be Enacts, Union Flags, GN-X IIIs, and Aheads.

For DLC, I can see 00 Qan[T] as one of those units.

With the massive metaseries that Gundam truly is I just hope Koei/Bamco keep making sequels until every story is eventually told and gets its fair representation in Official Mode. And every MS/pilot worth selecting becomes playable.

I just want to see what this Ultimate mode is about. I prefer these story based non-official modes in the DW: Gundam series to be like the 1st and 3rd. Frankly one sweeping story mode involving all characters. I hear that maybe that's not gonna be the case for 4.

I'm sure they originally intended to have a ZZ story but Chieko may have died before they could finish recording dialogue for it and there was no time to find a replacement, so they had to scrap it. Maybe it'll be featured as DLC if they can find someone else to voice the Ples in the future.

But I hope that other AU series not getting stories doesn't mean that the adds will be mostly SEED/Destiny oriented. As much as I like those two, I'd really like to see suits like Sandrock, Altron, and X Divider make it in too.
I agree that we need more than just SEED/Destiny adds. Though we all must remember that the Remaster is still going for Destiny and they're pushing out a ton of models and the such atm for it. So it makes sense that they may have convinced certain people to push SEED as well to capitalize on its renewed popularity.

00/Movie has been over for awhile too in comparison and AGE kinda bombed hard so it's safer to go for SEED/Destiny as the newness has worn off. Than there were the complaints about DWG3 where 00 and Unicorn served to become Superheroes/villains and everyone else was dumb'd down to support them. Especially with how they made Setsuna seem like the chosen one.

-

No ZZ makes me believe there will be no Crossbone again. :(

I'd just wanna see some more from G Gundam myself. Rose Gundam, Dragon Gundam, Bolt Gundam, freakin' Maxter Gundam! There were plenty of good ones for games like this from that. =w=

Of course G and Wing are really the main gundam series I saw all the way through, so that's probably why I want the main bunch completed. Altron, and Sandrock too.

I've been hoping for a complete Wing team since I played the first DW: Gundam.

But seriously: Altron, Sandrock, Akatsuki, Impulse and Legend need to happen this time around.

Even still, I'd love to see the complete Shuffle Alliance, more characters from Turn A Gundam, Gundam 00, and After War Gundam X.

Argh... there's just so much more to add

No ZZ makes me believe there will be no Crossbone again. :(
Uh.. why it won't? Because Grey Stoke is going to play a big part in Crossbone's cutscenes? :hehe:

While ZZ may have lost the Official story, it'd be outrageous to some if ZZ is removed altogether, especially since we've already spotted Ple-Two's Qube Mk-II. Besides, Judau already have some interactions with Seabook in past games, so I wonder if he'll have more with the Crossbone crews.

And Crossbone must have been one of the most requested series here along with SEED Astray, and their Gundams also fit very well into Warriors movesets, so I'd say it could be a matter of time until they're included.

Anyway I remembered tweeting a request to Bandai-Namco's Twitter soon after the last GW3 DLC (Seravee) was out, I wrote something like "Thanks very much for completing the Gundam Meisters! I hope next time you can complete the Wing Boys and Shuffle Alliance too",
and then I got a reply from them, something like "Thanks for the request! For Wing we've added Duo & Trowa, but you want the full team to appear, right?"

Makes me wonder if they may manage to add Quatre & Wufei here.. :sly:

Excited to hear the news that #4 is coming out. I finally decided to join this forum.

So is it not going to come out on x-box at all?

Oh, BTW, if you go to here http://gundam-musou.jp/spec/about.php you can see what appears to be the AGE FX

We only know what's going on with the Japan release so far. It could come out on 360 in the West.

Where are you seeing the Age-FX?

That's a quite a juicy tidbit ya dropped there.

I'm really hoping the new ability to customize weapons will finally make C1 ranged attacks actually relevant too.

Earlier in this forum I think I remember some people saying midair combat is now featured in this game: Where did Koei actually say that?

Hopefully, otherwise I'm not going to buy a PS3 just to play this game.

Nevermind, it is 00-Raiser. My mistake.

Yup, it most certainly is. Thanks for sharing that.

Can't wait to try out this new play mechanic.

Here's hoping the thruster gauge doesn't run out too quickly to make use of it.

I think someone else was saying they just elevated the walking area, sorta like in the space levels, so it is not actually mid-air combat

Like with space battles, it's the aesthetic of floating that matters. The ground stages in DWG3 got really old really fast, and my favorite and most memorable stage in the whole series is the space battle above the red planet in DWG1.

It's hard enough to aim at a single Ace for air combos, much less trying to hit entire groups while jumping.

Darn your probably right, 2 had space maps, wich ppl didnt seem to like then 3 was all ground again wich i guess ppl missed! So now it seems like we have ground space and mid air maps, though i wish the new mechanics thing was real! Still hoping they add in weapons switching especially simce they have the strike! And really hoping they keep amd the new suits from 3! :)

I'm a little worried about this even making it stateside, if only because of what was going down with DW8, but at the same time, if Bamco is gonna publish rather than Koei, it might actually make it.

well, SEED is pretty big in the states, plus this is KT, not Capcom, we still got Chin to nudge them towards at least an EU release

i have a pretty big confidence that both this and WO3U will made it to the west in one form or another, you don't even need to do a silly postcard petition to make it happen

Hope this next DWG game can improve on some aspects.

Combat - More long range weapons (per suit), kinda like Gundam Extreme Vs. If there are not enough buttons, maybe a switch button between melee/long range can be implemented, or make use of the d-pad to scroll weapons. Focus will be on melee movesets of course.

Maps - Cut down on the generic looking square rooms and corridors. Make maps that have more than one plane, eg, destroyable walls/floors/ceilings like the DOA games, opening up new accessible areas. DW and SW have stairs/ladders, but hey, DWG has gundams that fly.

I hope this seeming focus on Official mode heralds the return of the huge and long missions from DWG1, there's been few missions as infuriating yet awesome as DWG1's Zeta Finale. Trying to make sure you save the Radish, Emma and Char during that mission while protecting the Argama was so rewarding

I somehow forgot about the DWG3 maps and how small and uninteresting they were. That's definitely something I hope they fix, and with missions based on actual anime events, I'm sure it will.
