Yeah I know about the War Art. Not sure who all has it, but I'm using Takatora for that purpose at the moment (and Masamune and Naotora because they're very fast). Getting Lu Bu's theme is simply a matter of getting him to spawn on the map; from what I've heard it's complete 30 missions or get 22k points, whichever comes first (plus you must have completed all three of the castle stages). Although I think I did the 30 mission thing before, but that was before I actually went and did a clear of the castle with Kyubi in it (which I hadn't done until recently; apparently nobody is seriously trying this map, either). ============= On another note I'm only missing Motochika's Rare weapon. Ta-dah. Only thing is I'm waffling if I want to go after it because if I read Google Translate right I have to Co-op Musou five guys... which sounds seriously unappealing. Takakage's Rare weapon was definitely the hardest to get. I didn't care for running for Yukimura's or Ina's, either, because of time limits. ED: Never mind, I got Motochika's weapon. You really do have to Co-op Musou all of them. ED 2: Got to Lu Bu. Only had about 15 seconds left, I killed him then bolted for the stairs. Unfortunately a little too fast as it didn't stamp "Complete" on the mission. Oh well. Now I need to level more people to handle Hell castle. I get the impression after the third "boss" it doesn't spawn any more bosses. Edited by Amakusa, Sat Jul 18, 2015 3:43 pm.

I was trying to do some of the 'What If's' stories after I completed the main story, and I wanted to make sure this was true. Is it true that the Date Story only has two levels? I felt this was kind of weird since all the other campaigns I've done have multiple levels and you can unlock more with more friendship. |

Yep, the Date story has only two levels, which is a shame as it feels kinda rushed. I do like the Legend of the Imagawa what if though. I have also managed to get Aya's 4th weapon drop randomly. Are there any guides for the criteria of other characters 4th weapons yet? Edited by Royal Blue, Sat Jul 18, 2015 8:13 pm.

Soooooo is the Date story only Odawara and Osaka without any redux scenario?! Sigh, the things they could've done with this game....... Edit: Also, is there an item or war art which let's you recover an ally's health?! Edited by Katsuie's Disciple, Sat Jul 18, 2015 10:31 pm.

There's the war art Sacrifice which sacrifices your own health to heal allies, I'm sure there are others but I have only been levelling up my main characters. There are also certain characters such as Aya who's R1 can heal allies and increases her musou. |

That hurts, as the Date are my favorite clan. Koei once again gave them the short end of the stick. Now let's see if the Mori story can get over this bad taste that the Date left behind. The Imagawa, surprisingly, is pretty good so far. I just need to raise more friendship to continue it. |

Yeah, I've gotten all of the weapons and wrote on my experiences getting them in this thread: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/826288-samurai-warriors-chronicles-3/72115424 Just keep in mind that some of those things are a bit unrefined because some guy was *****ing at me about Masamune's weapon for nearly a week. Aya's weapon is very simple to get so it's no surprise you managed to get it "by accident."
Date doesn't have to put up with those lame Redux stages. Most of the What-if's are really two stages long. It's not that big of a deal. Edited by Amakusa, Sun Jul 19, 2015 4:13 am.

Thank's for this, it is a huge help, I thinks I'm going to start to get some of the weapons of the characters I mainly play as. I don't know if I have the patience to acquire them all, there are certain ones with difficult criteria. Edited by Royal Blue, Sun Jul 19, 2015 12:19 pm.

Oh most certainly it takes a long time. From the time I started trial runs to get weapons to finishing I unlocked the 100 hour panel (well to be honest it probably only took up about 70 hours of that). Of course since I had to make a huge number of mistakes along the way hopefully other people won't have to put up with as much trouble as I went through. I've gone some nights thinking about different ways to go about things, and on the one hand that's a fun thing to have happen, and on the other it's a little disturbing. At least it's summer. My last goal is to unlock the 20k Challenge point panel so I can see what the armor looks like (chances are I wouldn't use it anyway. I think I was happy settling with the default armor). After that I don't think I'm going to bother with Panel 8 since there's a couple of questionable panels there (especially the Osaka Raid panel; I made several attempts at the Vanquish Hideyoshi panel and I found out even Japanese players had trouble with that). Yeah most what if's feel pretty rushed with plenty of big events happening off screen. The Date story so far is the only one which actually bugged me since Hideyoshi is defeated off screen. I also found it the hardest story so I was a bit dissapointed that was all I got from it. The Oda story ended great, especially with the redux but I did miss the Oda vs Tokugawa war that was foreshadowed. |

So is this game actually worth getting? I loved the first Chronicles but hated how it was so short and there weren't many incentives to go back and play once you beat the story other than trying to listen to all the conversations of every character. If this game only has 20's something stages including what-ifs then it can't be much better in terms of replay value. Basically what I'm asking is, is this game different enough from SW4 to justify the purchase or is the only true redeeming quality the character conversations? Which I did love about Chronicles! |

Its a chronicles game which are always worth getting with its morale zone and bigger focus on characters. I don't know If I would recoment it to you however if I read your post. The main story mode is shorter and can seem rushed at times. The character conversations are also done differently. There are no truely personal event chains with characters. Each get their events in the story and if your relation is high enough you can get some more(mostly comedic) events in the teahouse. I never played 4 but I can say the morale zone, war arts and typical chronicles things does make it different enough from 4. |

Well..... There are what-if routes which means that characters like Yoshimoto and Okuni actually have a purpose. But the main story is only 18 stages long, you control 4 characters and overall (with the if-routes) means that it's almost 50 (which is still less than SW4) soooooo take u r pick..... There are also some new battlefields but some omitted from 4.... Edited by Katsuie's Disciple, Sun Jul 19, 2015 7:50 pm.

- The story is focusing on What IFs - Bunch of IFs to unlock - Even IFs still have IFs on the endings. IFception. - Challenge Mode available. Similar to Gold Rush from SW1XL. - Better gameplay with higher difficulty and is actually using that swap-character feature - Rare weapons to unlock - Secondary rare weapons to purchase - Different weapon system. No more looting weapons. It's all about leveling it with materials found and ability to customize attributes - New weapon design (rank based) to all new casts since SW3 - Bunch of conversation to listen and read, if you care - To replace cinematic cutscene, they have bunch of artworks to unlock - SW4 DLC (CAW costume, costume, horse) are transferable - Busy lifestyle friendly. Developer regularly adds free DLC called Samurai News which not only contains long letter that nobody cares, it also come with Challenge Mode Points which can be used to purchase material, money, and second rare weapon. You decide. |

So is anyone finding that some of the panels won't unlock? For example Ieyasu's Rebellion "have Yoshimoto Imagawa defeat 9 officers with his musuo attack". I have done this battle following these instructions yet the panels still not unlocking, am I doing something wrong? I'm also still waiting on the update that's supposed to fix the cut scene crashing. Edited by Royal Blue, Mon Jul 20, 2015 9:34 pm.

As Amakusa said before you have to beat the 9 playable characters in enemy army with a musou attack (Hisahide Matsunaga, Munenori Yagyu, Koshosho, Ieyasu Tokugawa, Hanzo Hattori, Nagamasa Azai, Yoshitsugu Otani, Takatora Todo, and Mitsunari Ishida) Edited by hozonov, Mon Jul 20, 2015 9:38 pm.

You have to finish him off with a counter hit (you know, when they get stunned and the X button is flying over their head**). There's nothing stopping you from whittling down before then, of course. The easiest way to do it is to just tap the L button off and on until you deflect one of his attacks. ** Obviously its X if you're 3DS, Triangle for Vita. Edited by Amakusa, Tue Jul 21, 2015 7:05 am.

Or just hold L and do a side step with X button when you see an enemy is attacking. Much easier, much safer. You can even move to any other direction while still blocking and in focus with your opponents to counter their attack. |

I think Azuchi Castle is the worst of the Challenge maps; there's so much message spam and so little going on during it it's not even funny. I try really hard to do the Oda Training fast just to get the bosses to spawn faster, but the game keeps insisting on throwing this other crap and interfering with the generation of the training missions. Osaka Castle is the one that's most like the map in SW XL and my favorite for that reason. Edo isn't that bad if it wasn't for the fact your party members get stuck behind the doors and then just stand in place even when you ordered them to move somewhere (or even worse, run backward through the shutting doors and eliminating all forward progress).
