So guys, what's your favorite main menu music from the SW series? I made this topic because I was bored.. and because I love the BGMs of this series lol.For references, here are all of them listed: Samurai Warriors Samurai Warriors 2 Samurai Warriors 3 Samurai Warriors 4 I only listed the ones from the main games because I couldn't find the rest from YT. Also the one from SW1 is actually the character selection music... but I figure people are more familiar with that because you hear it a lot more often than the other one lol. Personally, my order of favorite from least favorite is 1. SW1 - the nostalgia alone makes this the best 2. SW4 - this one is really good, perhaps my favorite BGM from SW4 3. SW2 - as much as I love SW2, the menu music could've been a bit more memorable 4. SW3 - I don't really like this, it sounds a bit dull |

Going without bias of "nostalgia", purely musically 1) SW4, the chants are haunting and sad, fitting the darker, sadder theme of SW4 2) SW2: A bit too cutesy but ok, Japanese-ey undertones to it which is good 3) SW3: A little slow paced but relaxing 4) SW1: Too techno-ey IMO |

Kessen hits it home, and then Preparing the Body after selecting a mode. SW1 was guud, followed by SW3's authentic soundtrack. |

Remember to cast your votes guys About SW4's, I agree that the chants suit the game's overall tone well. And the part from 0:59 to 1:23 (in the video) sounds awesome. |

I really love all of them except Samurai Warriors 2 to be honest, but with the exception of a few stand out tracks from SW2 such as Odawara castle I didn't care for that soundtrack. My rankings would go: 1. Samurai Warriors 1 2. Samurai Warriors 3 3. Samurai Warriors 4 4. Samurai Warriors 2 |

Well I decided to analyze the four menu BGMs a bit more in this post: SW1 - I love the instruments they chose for this. It's somewhat dark sounding and is great for both choosing your character and the battle. I especially like the instruments that play during 0:39-1:04. Kassen track actually uses the same melody for the most part, it's just slower and there's different instruments. SW2 - This menu music matches perfectly with the game's more upbeat and vibrant soundtrack (compared to SW1). However, it does get a bit repetitive and there's not much variety except for the part 0:20 - 0:28. I feel this track could've been better by making it longer and adding one or two more instruments to the mix while toning down the existing ones. SW3 - As I already said, this sounds somewhat slow and dull. Which incidentally suits the game's theme because the gameplay itself plays very slow and monotonously. This doesn't just give the same awesome Samurai Warriors feeling (lol) that's found from the other three menu tracks. SW4 - It's definitely the most epic sounding of the four. I love the rhythm and the chants. 0:59 to 1:23 is easily the best part. I personally think they should've thrown in piano sounds to the mix as well, though. |

In terms of music for the menu, i think each one suited the game splendidly. SW1 was quite techno and dark which suited the game, SW2 was really upbeat which suited the game well, while SW3 was a tad dramatic and SW4 was a twinge happy and a twinge melancholy, it made you long to listen to mroe of it but really hit home that the game strictly followed history, they're all good tracks but purely because SW2 is my favourite game of all time, i decided to go for SW2.... |

1. SW1. Dark, but also energizing - in a dark way. Feels like entering the war. 2. SW2. Vibrant, energizing, and has journey-ish feel. 3. SW4. Dramatic, with a taste of classic Japanese vocal 4. SW3. Dark, mellow, but not energizing. Sounds depressing, while the look of the UI are cartoony and pop. |

I don't remember 1's music much but I would imagine it was the darkest sounding out of them all considering how the game looked back then. 2's was boring from what I remember. I'd say 4 and 3 are the best so far. 4 3 2 1. |

Never got my hands on SW3 and never cared about SW1, but anyways: 1) SW2: Gave me a sense of ''going to war'' and going on an epic journey. 2) SW4: Didn't like it. The chanting adds to the overall theme of SW4, but it's getting on my nerves when I'm hearing it for too long. Anyway, I play these games muted, with my own music playing on the blackground. Getting sick and tired of all the praises, and in SW4, japanese audio in general. |

In order SW1-Kessen and preparing the body...My favorite along with the game itself as it had the darkest setting and had more hypothecal routes and castle stages SW4- I do like the chantings but then again that I get used to when im looking for someone in an online co-op match SW3- meh Its decent but the pace of the game was a bit slow SW2- I did like the gameplay itself seeing how it focused on specials as if everyone wasa special oriented like how everyone was power oriented in 1 but the menu theme got boring quickly. I just wish Kotaro was playable in 1 because that grab special would've help in survival mode and lubu if it was included |

Haha I agree with this. Not because of Survival Mode but because Odawara Castle was rather dull in SW1, featuring only generics and some random unique characters that had no business there. I did like the BGM of that stage very much, though. And to keep this somewhat on-topic, I wonder if they re-use Rebirth for SW4E main menu theme as well. I mean, SW2E didn't have the same as one SW2 so they might make a new one for this as well. |

Samurai Warriors 3: never mind the slow pace, it was the deepness of the taiko drums that really drove the point home. |

I love SW1 the most cause it makes me nostalgic and reminds me of my childhood playing samurai warriors for the first time. But I still do love the other themes aswell. |
