But in PW charcaters dont have that much more attacks... s-string(5), t-string(3), charge atks(6), r1 and 2 musou attacks, + tag attacks |

^That's still a lot by Musou standards. About the interview; even though I'd like to see an open world game for this series, I'm afraid it wouldn't deliver if it doesn't have a big budget. Honestly I just want more PW games in general. They've been the best One Piece games (and also the best Musou games by far as far as I'm concerned) imo. And since JP Bandai Namco hasn't said that the series is over then I'm sure PW4 is coming in the future. Still not sure I'm getting Burning Blood. The gameplay kind of worries me. Having a demo on the PS Store would be nice. |

I'm not sure if it makes much sense to compare PW3 and BB, to be honest. They're not really the same genre and I think it's different to develop characters for BB than for PW3. For starters stages are much smaller due to this being a fighting game (rather than following musou formula), so that means for BB they don't need to spend as much time & resources for stages or stuff like different enemy troop types and how they behave. NPCs (PW3) and supporting characters (BB) are also rather different, because in PW3 those are 3d rendered characters with almost full movesets, while in BB they're just .png images unless I'm missing something. Basically I'm saying that PW3 features 37+27 characters while BB has 42. We also don't know for how long has BB been in development. But anyway, I think 42 characters will be pretty generous for a first game, assuming this becomes a series of its own. |

Still a lot by Musou standards? Not that much... It's like 17 attack per character.. Example of Zhao Yun in DW 8; S-string (6), Charge atks (6(8 if you include EX)), 4 Musou atks if you include rage finish, air atks(2), running atk and switch atk, for a total of a least 20... |

instead of PW, it's better off to compare it to J stars i guess, which is what this BB based off and was made by the same company... Luffy had a lot of gimmick in J stars but his move pool is actually rather small, he has like 4 versions of Gatling, 3 versions of Pistol/Bazooka, no grab move like in PW and that's it+a super attack, his gimmick is he can refill stamina to max at any time using Gear 2nd and can access Armament haki during certain circumstances if you mash or charge the buttons depending on what attack(charge for pistol, mash for Gatling) he will automatically shift to Gear 2nd mid attack and if you continue mashing, upgrades to the armament Haki before finishing the attack if you still have stamina left after this(which cost like 90% stamina) then you can use his Haki version of his moves instantly(where the attacks becomes black barbells instead of punches), tho the from doesn't last very long and Luffy is bad at manually refilling his stamina.... Gear Second is weird in that it restores stamina when used as a standalone move, and costs a lot of stamina if you enter it mid attack Luffy is also one of the few that can do a running special in J stars i dunno if that's many or little by everyone's standards, moveset wise Edited by wodash, Fri Apr 1, 2016 1:17 am.

wait, so the game is 1v1? J Stars's top characters is already broken enough with it's 2v2+striker format, 1v1 would be very imbalanced if they made it exactly like that game.... |

based on that 3 vids....Zoro actually had less moves than he did in PW games? ![]() on the contrast, old Luffy gained new old moves it seems, so that he's not a complete clone of his J Stars version |

I don't think we can see all of their moves there yet I wouldn't judge until when the game is out and we can see their full movelist in some menu.Anyone notice that in Zoro's video @0:11 the player actually misses an attack on Mihawk... funny how that happens in a demonstrative video

Spike had been known to be taking favorites when giving characters movesets IMO, in J Stars guys like Luffy and Naruto got truckloads of stuffs that most they will barely even use(armament haki takes a lot of effort to maintain/perform) while others like Momotaro, Kenshiro, and Johathan got teeny tiny move pools(it doesn't stop them from being awesome, but still) and yeah, the Zoro vid is really terrible for a character trailer, zero hype atall, the Sanji one is also kinda meh, but better |

I don't think it's necessarily terrible, to me it just seems like it could've used some polishing before releasing it to the public.

Here's the character select screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsKj6NweRMc While I'm slightly disappointed by a few certain characters aren't there, I gotta admit that 42 PCs for the first game is pretty generous. Of course, we don't know how extensive their movelists are, but those character trailers that they've been releasing like every week convinced me that the gameplay looks fun enough. I was thinking, maybe the next BB will focus on Enies Lobby / Water 7 sagas (isn't it very popular?) and they're saving Lucci and Kaku for that. Or Alabasta saga so we'd see Vivi there... and maybe Carue, now how cool would that be

well, it's not build from scratch so they can shove lots of characters in and not really worry about the basics BB is a reverse Orochi of sorts, it was build using what they have from J Stars and modified it, turning an all stars game to a dedicated single series game. Yeah I guess so. And that's actually good because if it was made from scratch then we'd probably have a lot less characters. |

pretty much, you'd prolly only see like, half the roster playable whereas the rest is assists or something if this were made from scratch, and this being OP, that's really not a good news because the series had so many characters that people wanted to be playable.... |

these were playable in old One Piece fighting games: Alvida (Grand Battle) Krieg (Grand Battle) Arlong (Grand Battle) Vivi (Grand Battle) Mr. 3 (Galdino) (Grand Battle) Ohm (Grand Battle) Wiper (Grand Battle) Hina (Grand Battle) Lucci (Gear Spirit) Magellan (Gigant Battle) Coby (Gigant Battle) What's wrong with having them playable here? I hope if we get a sequel, they do become playable. |

For OP:BB 2 I'd expect Alvida, Vivi, Mr. 3, Lucci, Magellan & Coby. For OP:BB3 I'd expect Krieg, Kuro, Arlong & Wiper. And if there comes an OP:BB4 Hina & Ohm will be likely. I just hope there will be many more of these games. Same with OPPW, especially the NPC count could be much higher. I'm thoroughly content with the playables as of now. With about 8 new playable characters and loads of new NPC's I'd be happy. |

One Piece just has so many characters that it's impossible to please everybody when it comes to the playable roster of the game. I personally think that 42 PCs for a first game is pretty generous, even if the game is basically a reverse of Orochi format like wodash put it. I'm pretty sure that if the game will be successful (honestly why wouldn't it be, it's OP) there will be more games and we'll get to see many more guys playable who are just supporting characters here. I kinda like that they would make each BB game focus on a popular arc. Since this one's is Marineford Arc, I guess the second could be Water 7 / Enies Lobby saga since from what I've understood, it's the most well like arc in the series so far. I guess they could be saving Lucci and some other CP9 dudes for that. I also wouldn't mind seeing Sogeking as separate character...

Captain Kuro? He's actually probably my least favorite of the early villains, I don't really care much if he ever becomes playable in PW or BB series or not. I gotta admit his fighting style is pretty cool, though, especially after watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64ehleH33Ro |

I wouldn't judge until when the game is out and we can see their full movelist in some menu.
