I gotta admit his fighting style is pretty cool, though, especially after watching this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64ehleH33Ro
well, yeah, that's the #1 reason why he needs to be playable, that, and Django

Captain Kuro? He's actually probably my least favorite of the early villains, I don't really care much if he ever becomes playable in PW or BB series or not.
IMO i think Oda kinda screwed him up because the plot was just ridiculous and he was kinda likeable for a really short moment, anyone who can make a suit with doodoo pattern look cool is okay in my book :doge:

Is there going to be more to this game other than just the fighting aspect? Like will there be other interesting game modes, such as story mode, etc..?

Seeing as how this is a PS4 only game, I'll most likely won't be getting it until quite some time from now since the PS4 is at the very END of my "things to buy" list. Although this would definitely be yet another must buy for me when I do get a PS4, along with Mad Max, FF15, FF7 remake, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven.

I was reading a few of the first posts in this thread and saw that someone was comparing this game to J-Stars Victory Vs and that that game was horrible. I personally disagree with that. Yeah, the game was extremely lacking and should have had much more to it and the fact that you couldn't play as Vegeta or Toguro in the story mode was just retarded, but overall...it was an okay game. They hadn't made a HD game of the Yu Yu Hakusho series in forever, so just seeing Yusuke, Hiei and Toguro in HD was a definite pleasant surprise. The One Piece characters they included were pretty lame though. They should have at least made Zoro playable(though my personal favs are Smoker and Crocodile). The story mode was severely lacking in that game, but was still somewhat entertaining for what it was worth. The overworld traveling was an amazing idea, but they should have done so much more with that, and every quest was literally "go fight these guys", so it lacked a lot in variety there, but since you were able to at least import your own music tracks into the game and even able to play story mode 2P co op, that's what made it pretty fun. Online was pretty fun too. I remember beating two players vs only me and a COM ally. They both went straight for me and yet I was still able to beat both of them with Toguro, lol. Good times. The J-card system was interesting as well, but the game just needed more characters and more variety other than JUST the fighting. Like mini games and stuff.

Anyway, whenever I do get this game, I'm definitely going to use Crocodile and Smoker as my mains. :2up:

It isn't. Burning Blood will also be on PS Vita, Xbox One and PC.

And I'm surprised how it isn't available on PS3 as well in addition to those four platforms. The game doesn't look to be too demanding power-wise so it's not like they have a technical reason behind, especially when it's a fighting game. But I guess they just want to move fully to next-gen. Not that I'm complaining, I already did that personally 2 years ago.

edit: 8000th. :luffy: have I really posted here this much

well, I meant PS4 only as apposed to PS4 and PS3. Sorry for not clarifying that, it was just a poor choice of words.

Who happens to be an actual combat character here unlike in PW3. I've been replaying the story and I just got through The War's Conclusion... I really think there should've been a fight against Mr. Sengoku at the certain point during that stage and not just have it as a mere cutscene.

He should've been an actual character since the first PW game and not just a cutscene character indeed. He was very important for the Marineford Arc and to the Marines in general. One of the weirdest decisions of the PW series to be honest.

I would have to say one of the weirdest decisions of the PW series would be that they never include Roronoa Zoro's original outfit as a default outfit!!!

Even the cutscene where Zoro is tied up in PW3, they had him with that stupid yellow jacket. WTF?? I like him best in his white polo and green hachimaki, yet it's never a default outfit in these games....that just aggravates me. :hmmm:

That, too.

It's his most iconic outfit anyway. It's not like it'd be a pain in the a** to even create the costume given that it's a pretty simple one in the first place. People are asking for that specific costume of Zoro to be in since PW2. Maybe in the next game as a DLC lol then?

Well, that outfit better be in Unlimited World Red, or I'm gonna be real mad.

I still have that game set aside until I beat PW3 so that I'll at least be familiar with most of the anime's story. So Zoro's original outfit BETTER be in that one or I'm gonna boycott these games. :hmph: (as in: OP games in general)

timeskip? You mean when it's 2 years later? So guessing Zoro's original outfit won't be in there, huh....well ****.

Oh well, I guess. I was just kidding about the boycott thing. But damn...that white polo and green hachimaki look is what made me like Zoro in the first place. :/

Getting off-topic, but doesn't KT give them different outfits much like how they do in DW & SW? Because at least to me it looks like Zoro, Nami and Usopp have sorta different costumes in the anime/manga.

A demo is available on the JP PS Store for the PS4, I'm downloading it right now. :)

Seems a bit odd to release it after the full game.

I'm not gonna get any demos, though. I'll save all experience for the full game .

I. Don't. Like. It.

Gameplay is too slow and clunky with weird hitboxes, really reminds me of my dislike toward Tales of Zestiria which has the exact same problems. :/ I'm not buying BB, and if they do a sequel, I hope they'll really improve the gameplay. Otherwise, I'll just wait for the next PW game.

as i said, J Stars kinda sucked, and after seeing the BB trailer it looks and feels not so different from it, just with OP characters only and actual tag, so yeah, pass, at least J stars allows you to play as vairous other series too, and is just $10 on PSN...

That's bad to hear. Which characters are available in the demo, btw?

Are there going to be other game modes other than just fighting and tagging? If there's a decent story mode or something else that's a little creative, I still might get it. I personally loved J-Stars Victory Vs, and the way you describe the fighting style, it does sound like how I felt about J-Stars at first, but once I got used to the fighting system, it became much funner.

I'm not much of a fan of the high speed combos and lightning fast fighting anyway, although I did used to binge play MvC1 and 2, Guilty Gear series and Persona 4 Arena series, I still prefer the slower and steady style more, because I like actually SEEING what I'm doing, lol.

There's the usual Story Mode centered around the Marineford Arc which is nicely portrayed even if it's missing three of its characters; Garp, Coby and Tashigi.

Then there's a Training Mode, a Versus Mode (AI or between players), and a new mode not in the game yet will be added later, called the Pirate Flag Battle mode.

Quote:

Pirate Flag Battle — This is not in the Japanese version of the game, at least not yet. Pirate Flag Battle is an online team challenge that pits you against other players around the world. You’ll select a pirate crew to join and play against other teams. When you win a fight, you capture the flag on a world map, indicating that you’ve conquered that area.
