I am fully aware of that... But my point is that it was AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT either way. They atleast owe us an apology if it never does get published.
They dont owe us anything. If it wasnt for them, we wouldnt get any koei games in English. It is completely their decision on whether to produce the games over here. They are not obligated toward anything as long as they making the money ;) and if they feel that an EN version of WOZ wont make enough money to be worth producing it, then that is their decision, cause ultimately basically any company out there, looks out for number one(themselves) then, secondly to please their fans.

From a moral standpoint, yes they do owe us an apology.
That's how you lose fans: They let you know you have got no say in the matter.
Yes you don't have any say anywhere with gaming companies, but atleast they let their fans feel like they do.
Both of you have a point, anyway it seems that KOEI parent company cares more for their fans than its Western subsidiaries (I found more than once KOEI Japan's apologies in their official website). ...Of course they care for their Japanese fans.
By the way, in Europe they didn't even release DW6 for PS2 (and I was so waiting for it, believe me). Even less love for us European fans XD.

I was about to post that about the Japanese Koei, but since I can't read Japanese all that well yet I didn't want to talk out of my ass.

So it's confirmed now that it's a Japan only release in the expo?

Just to say unfortunately this game won't be releasing in the US or EU. Just to clear the current rumours up.

Look forward to WO2 on the PSP though.

So what's "The Collective" meant to be then? Just a code name?

Also why is the content coming on PSP but not on PS3 :/

Because the Koei dudes are awesome trolls.

Kidding, no idea, it baffles me why Koei would do this, but then again they did the "No Special for you" to the whole Europe so...

At least Sanzo and Benkei are going to PSP at least.

Well, considering that some US/EU KOEI fans who really wanted the game imported it already from Japan ... not surprising, really

KOEI has a larger fanbase in Japan anyhow, and since this was another fanservice title, that's another reason why it isn't surprising.

Meh, I'm rambling and don't own a PS3, so I'm not that affected by this news. I'll just have to enjoy that content on the PSP version instead.

My best guess for that would be that Koei originally did have the idea to release it in English and thus came up with that name, then it got leaked out. Then later Koei decided against releasing the game, probably most likely cause they just didnt think it would make enough money.

Didn't they say that WO1 and 2 sold well in Europe..? Ah well Koei usually do things that annoy people >_>. Wasn't generally worth to be excited over a few content.

Can I have a link to a source from somewhere?
I want to hold off my rage for as long as possible since things like buildings and cars might be demolished once I go on a rampage.

I'll pay for it all eventually so rest assured. -_-"

Well I suppose you cant find any official statement on the matter anywhere on the net. But LDZ did go to the latest expo, in which there are some Koei employees that attend aswell, and he knows some of them. So I trust his word.

As you might have noticed, I don't visit these forums frequently.
Is this LDZ a reliable source of info?

If you want to blame someone, remember that Koei doesn't have final say on if they get to release their game. Sony does.

And LDZ is probably the most reliable guy we have on Western info for Koei games. Everything he's reported turns out to be true, even when people don't believe him.

If you want to blame someone, blame Sony's US/UK distributors. They told Koei that the game(WO:The Collective) does not meet their standards for release and won't approve it for sale. This is after Koei basically finished everything on the game, including translations and voices too.

Do you have a source? (Just want to confirm it for myself) if possible.

But if this is true why did they do that? Theres plenty of half-baked games out there and they get released...Meh..

i dont think there is a source yet or the WOZ section would have been updated whit it same goes, maybe, the main site and LDZ was at the expo and ask about WOZ, supposedly, and until we get a response from koei, we must believe what LDZ say... i guess lol

Thats not what Mei Mei is talking about as far as source goes, talking about what Seraphil said as far as it being Sony's fault goes. I myself would like a source too, as I have not heard this before.

Thanks for all the info.
So uhh anyone know where the headquarters of Sony's US/UK distributors are?
This is relation to one of my previous posts /pent up rage.

I'm still waiting for E3 for the final announcement. Since I'd hate it if I bought the Japanese version when they announce the EU version. Just to make sure.
I just hope ebay still has good offers after E3.

Thanks for that info, Seraphil. One could only wonder what those standards are ...

Sucks for KOEI, though. As far as announcements, I wouldn't think KOEI would make up a press release indicating their NOT releasing a certain game in the West.

At E3, they're going to be promoting the products they actually are going to sell in the West. If anything, pay attention to any live interviews or live blogs for any brief statements from KOEI reps who might be asked about this game.

So i did well when i imported the game from Japan!! i was sure that see this game out of JP could be very hard.

Finally i decided to import.. and i think it´s not complicate to play in japanese, when i used to play WO1 & WO2. Anyway, there are many Faqs in the net than can help us in the walkthrouht of the game.

... everybody import MOZ, its my advice ^^
