More standing enemies on the screen at the same time adds realism?

How  ?
Don't watch too many old Chinese kung fu movies, do you?
That doesn't prove anything! It just proves Kung Fu movies aren't really realistic! :ph43r:

Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon is probably the only one I've seen.

But seriously, I would like to know how having more standing enemies on the screen makes the game more realistic :/ ?

LIKE I SAID: I don't give a s*** about WO2 on the PSP because I was looking forward to fighting the MULTITUDE OF ENEMIES ON SCREEN THAT THE PSP CAN'T HANDLE.
That is all. I had no other reason for buying the game.
So to me WO2 PSP is next to useless.
I thought it looked ridiculous when I watched MOZ gameplay vids. Normally I wouldn't mind having more enemies on screen but if most of them are going to stand still, suddenly disappear and attack from the shadows (I heard MOZ suffered from this), then I prefer having less enemies on screen.
I am not sure what you mean exactly. But every musou game suffers from enemies standing still and not attacking, but just simply move to a higher difficulty and the enemies will happily beat you to a pulp :D
Enemies disapearing? I havent really experienced that personally :/ or maybe I dont notice, if that is the case, then that tells you something, that if its not noticable then its nothing to worry about.
Having more enemies on screen simply means you will almost always get more then 1000 kills per level, at least.
Enemy officers do quite disappear often, or to me it's more like they abruptly jumped a ridiculous and impossible distance. It's like one second I'm fighting one, rotate the camera around, rotate it back, and the officer suddenly vanished. Usually the officer will be like a screen distant away from where he originally was or back to his original spawn spot. It could be though that the officer ran away while I wasn't looking or I sent him/her flying offscreen without noticing.

The AI in this game also act very odd. Sometimes they get random seizures and flip back and forth a hundred times in a row for no reason which looks amusing as hell. It's like you take the model and flip it horizontal over and over again. They'll also repeat their animations such as block over and over again like they don't know whether to pull it off or not.

You can see LOTS of these instances in my gameplay videos. I don't think there were these issues in WO1 and WO2 for PS2, nevertheless the AI did get a good buff in terms of attacking you more often including the peons.

My friend's roommate just got WO2 for 360, and I can confirm that the peons spaz out on that version, too. It seems to either happen at random, or when there's too many units on screen at once.

It must just have something to do with the way the next-gen versions are coded. However, the 360 version seems to have the same unit amounts at the PS2 one, versus the huge increase that WO1 PC and MOZ have.

Well I admit, "realistic" wasn't exactly the word I was looking for. More along the lines of "more satisfying".
You have to remember one thing, might not even know this since it was way back in DW2's day, the producers at Koei wanted to make the game as close to the KUNG FU MOVIES as possible. I read that in an article a long time ago and it has sunk into my brain.
Point 1: In Kung Fu movies, there are a lot of enemies standing around the person waiting for their chance to strike. Why they're not doing anything is because logically they would be hitting their own comrades. But since this is a game, I think the makers just didn't make them do anything.
Point 2: Kung Fu movies are really the only thing we know what the historical fights MIGHT have looked like(Hero for example, a lot of enemies there). There's no concrete evidence in my point, nor is there any concrete evidence in your point. Therefore the only "evidence" we have is what I posted earlier.

Which leads me to wonder. Out of all the other stuff I posted, the only thing you picked to disagree with me was the "realism" issue. Was it because you really didn't find anything else you could actually argue with me and since you found my whining annoying you wanted to shut me up so that's the only way you could think of?
Or is it just that you enjoy arguing? Because I have to admit, this is not so enjoyable to me. The only reason why I'm still posting is because I felt cheated and unjustly talked to.

Strikeforce9: And you're sure of that how again?
I'd rather say, since they're from China and this stuff is based off Chinese history, they're the most accurate depictions of what it could have looked like.

@Wonderpierrot: Honestly I really havent experienced the disappearing thing :/
I do know what you mean by odd movement and repeat steps. Its quite frustrating sometimes in the middle of fighting an enemy general, and he decides to walk away, only to come straight back to me ten steps later.

I dont know why anyone should complain about enemies standing there, at least for this game, cause its been like that for every musou game since DW2. And that basically stops almost fully when you switch your difficulty up to hard and chaos, so if you dont want it, then change your difficulty.

Well, I'm sorry, but yeah, this really did bother me:

Do you seriously want to make me sound like a broken record?
I DON'T CARE. I ONLY WANT THE HUNDREDS OF ENEMIES ON SCREEN AT THE SAME TIME. Even if they're just standing there.
It gives more realism.

Standing still during a battle sounds everything else except realistic to me. But I'm glad to notice you finally explained to me why you think like that. The whole "Kung fu" idea is new to me.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was a well known fact.
I apologise for being so rude and hostile.

It's not the case though in current military battles. Mainly because being in such a formation, as in these game, would be just plain suicidal with modern warfare. We were taught to be in a cluster while in formation, and while moving from point a to point b, in a line with a couple of meters between each troup in a group of five to seven.
So I can understand why currently the formations we see in the game don't seem realistic.

Im Finished WO2 on xbox360, why would I want it on psp. Could you see why a person could be upset that is being counted as the big announcement and not WOZ. A game people have been waiting for since japanese announcement. A PS3 warriors game with new stuff PS3 graphics, New story, old story, throphys, DLC. And I don't know what it 100% has in it now, But who knows what a US port or a NA port could have brought cause the gundams W2 where different.

Instead we get WO2 on psp "Release date Nov 27, 08 in japan". Thats like announcing to Japan your getting "The Sims 2: Pets" on ds this at e3. while America is playing "The Sims 3". That madness!!

First I wanna say hi to everyone. Second I've played almost every Koei game since it was a fighter. Now on to my topic point. I just wanna say that WOZ might still come out. Be patient, Koei works in strange ways. Only give in if they officially say no English release. Or it's next year and WO3 is out. There is a lot of evidence saying that it will come out and not coming out so only time will tell. What I'm saying is hold on.

Hi. Welcome.

I was thinking that I'll give up after E3, if they aren't going to say it's coming out there, then it's going to take atleast a year. WO3 is a high probability in a year's time, so I'd rather buy that.
After E3 I'm buying the JPN version.
On the bright side it will get me to start studying Japanese again :D

Mr.Honda:
1. If you like buying shameless reselling of stuff that has already been in sale for a long time, be my guest.
2. It's too easy to pick the "fanboy card" right off the bat. A pretty low blow.
3. Like I said, my only reason for buying the game is the multitude of enemies. I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE.
4. DO NOT GENERALISE all posters in one post, when the generalisation has false, negative, info. I have NOT bashed WO2 on the PSP. I only said it sucked in comparison to MOZ BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF THE MULTITUDE OF ENEMIES. WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON I'M GOING TO BUY MOZ.
5. I agree that unfair bashing should be stopped, but someone has to be REALLY STUPID to actually go pick a fight with someone who is enraged from the numerous and numerous times a multi-million corporation has just blatantly ignored their fans. (SCEE)

So if you want to get better results, quote people on their posts and don't direct a post to all posters.
 I was going to reply in numerical order, but your post is so ridiculous that it isn't worth the time to pick apart.

I generalized for a reason: BECAUSE I WASN'T TALKING TO ANYONE SPECIFIC

I'm not picking fights with anyone, so no need to take everything so seriously. And there is nothing wrong with being upset, I think we can all agree on that.

I was trying to help prevent this topic from becoming like the SW3 topic that attracted a bunch of whiners who keep saying "this game will suck because its not on <insert favorite console> "

But you do realise that with your generalisation I received uncalled criticism right?
"- ...saying how inferior the PSP version is"
I found this uncalled for, since I always pointed out why I didn't want WO2 PSP to replace WOZ. At no point did I bash the console.
Also I found your way of replying "...but your post is so ridiculous that it isn't worth the time to pick apart" very condescending.

I am in a very negative state right now, having waited for this game for God knows how long and after waiting I learned that all my waiting was useless. Then I get comments like "Yeah but you get the game on a different console" which doesn't have the things I wanted it for in the first place.
I wasn't trying to get this thing to turn into a console war, just mainly pointing out that people who say "Stop whining, you get the game on the PSP" rudely disregarded all my posts which explained in a more calmer way why I wanted it on the PS3.
Which lead me to take a more aggressive approach.

Fair enough. We all have the freedom to express ourselves. I wasn't aware that you or anyone would take offense to what I said, since I didn't single anyone out :P

I, for one, am also surprised at the fact that WOZ won't be on PS3. I've seen videos of it and even with YouTube's shaky quality at times, the game looks great in HD. If I had a PS3, I'd be upset too ;)

EDIT: Just saw your edit ... well, I meant "ridiculous" in the fact that you took direct offense to my generalization and felt that I was attacking you and your opinion directly, when my post said nothing of the sort. The "REALLY STUPID" part wasn't much better either, BTW ;)

Wow. Mind if I step in here. I can see everybody's opinion is different but after playing the JP version of WO2 on the PSP, my K.O. count was actually up there close to 700 sometimes. If your looking for seeing a group of enemies the PSP version doesn't skip out on that. If anything if you remember on the console versions when you had that much enemies on the screen it lagged horribly. The PSP version doesn't lag at all. As for being on the PS3, sure displaying in HD is cool and its a bigger screen, but it doesn't mean its any better. If you have the newer PSP models then you can just connect it to the T.V. and then there you go a big screen minus the HD. But that's just a opinion and I'm not trying to fight with nobody on here so please don't take it as a negative post. It may sound like it is but it's not. Thank you.

Didn't Koei release a patch for the laggyness for the 360 version?
