Just read the announcement as well and looking over the guesses. The possibility of Ryu Hayabusa in a WO game made me laugh my ass off, as he could possibly defeat most of the characters in there with very little effort.

If they plan on Adding TECMO Characters (Not that i expect them to do) why not turn it into a KOEI vs TECMO Crossover like Marvel Vs Capcom and MK Vs Marvel? it would just be another crossover that would be well liked where everyone gets to play and not just one damn self centered ....Never mind.
MK vs DC, not Marvel. I say Marvel too...it rolls off teh tounge better, =]. but it's DC.

But I do agree with you, adding third party characters doesn't seem like a good idea. Though, I can't say it doesn't sound entertaining

lol the graphics are horrible. since when has making everything brighter and shinier + making capes move + making the draw distance a tiny tiny bit bigger = ps3/360 worthy graphics?
Eh, since Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires was ported to the 360...
I'm kind of upset that it wont make it to the 360. And yes, even though I don't have a PS2, nor would ever want one, I feel sorry for you guys too. But then again...now that you mention DW5:Empires...and then there is also SW2:XL, perhaps there is still hope?
If it comes to the U.S. it probably won't be a PS3 exclusive for long....

would'nt the "White-Bone Demon" be a bit out of place in the WO universe without Xuanzang to reinforce it's "lesson"?

You realize that both WO and WO2 are on Xbox 360 and PS2, right? What would be the point of Koei RE-RELEASING WO and WO2 as a two disc set just for the extra content the PS3 version is getting? Would anyone really want to spend more money on two games they already own?

Nobody seems to get that most of us already own this game, but without the extra content. Is the extra content really worth it to you? I could understand if Koei released it as DLC for the Xbox 360 version of WO2, but to re-release the same games again?

Ridiculous.

I'm still of the opinion it would be Bai Gu Jing...the White Bone Demoness. Definitely evil, fits with the Journey to the West theme and would be a major rival to Sun Wukong. Also the silhouette makes me think of Chinese opera (someone mentioned that earlier and I thought this pic might give some ideas)

http://millennium-thisiswhoweare.net/cmeacg/img/music/profile_image/38/profile_image.JPG

I mentioned the Chinese Opera look to the unknown character.
Good call on that one. Once you mentioned it I *just* had to check.

Bai Gu Jing is something of a shapeshifting succubus, luring mortals with her beauty, but in reality she is an undead skeleton and probably the most popular villain from Journey to the West.
Sounds sexy. And familiar. Isn't that basically Da Ji, only Da Ji was a Fox Demon?

No one for Braska? I kid :P

Anyways, my guess would be probably someone related to Sun Wukong OR Orochi (which would be Susano-O though unlikely) since the other Orochi characters have someone related to them and all.

Nu Wa- Fu Xi
Yoshitsune-Benkei- Kiyomori
Da Ji-Taigong Wang
Himiko-Kingdom of Wei...more or less but I'm not entirely sure.

Some people who like new content, or having both ps2 versions want to upgrade to either ps3 or xbox 360 to have both games play "better", those who like grinding (me), those who do not have WO1 or 2 and are wanting to get in now.

And my comment was more about how Koei games that are ps3 exclusive don't stay that way when they come to the U.S., just look at Dynasty Warriors 6.

Chinese mythology is full of animal spirits that take on the form of human women to lure mortal men. Da Ji is one famous example...I believe because of her unnaturally small feet (fox paws) which the emperor was very attracted to, the cruel practice of foot-binding started in China.

The difference between Da Ji and Bai Gu Jing is that Da Ji, if you look at her in one way, is not really evil so much as vain and self-centred; while Bai Gu Jing is pure malevolent demon with raw fighting power to slug it out with Sun Wukong for several rounds (according to the myth)

A rare and benevolent shapeshifter example is White Snake, the myth is basically a tragic love story. She could well be the mystery character too but I doubt it as Sun Wukong is already a precendent in WO; and she has no connections to the other characters.

While that may be true, this scenario is different, IMO. DW6 was a new installment in the DW franchise. Both WO and WO2 are already on Xbox 360/PS2. The PS3 hasn't had a Warriors Orochi game, thus Koei is letting PS3 owners get a chance to play the games. I honestly see no reason for Koei to release WOZ on any other platform.

It seems HIGHLY unlikely Z will get a 360 version.

I hope that new character isn't....Tamamo-no-Mae. Because I thought of putting her in a game first. Still waiting for that update, so dull.

For me its kinda of a question Why not? New content (granted not alot) and a combined games will be demanded by those who want play as the new characters or this to being their first step in the Warriors Orochi series. And in the U.S. there are frankly, more 360's then there are PS3's so if they (Koei) were wanting a profit, PS3 exclusivity would end pretty quick.

EDIT: I'm not sure if it's unannounced..but no new news of it :sly:

Awesome, Guan Yin then <3 Thats who I hoped it would be. Really I was hoping for her way back when Musou Orochi 2 was new. Should be quite fun with Sun Wukong being in and such.

this is good. i was hoping for Lady Shizuka, but Quan Yin is good too, i was of a mind that Asia might be slightly offended to have such beloved and gentle goddess portrayed in a video game, but she's a good choice. can't wait to see what she looks like.

So... Guan Yin/Quan Yin...

Now just to wait for her appearance. What did she do that would warrant her a position in the WO2 cast?

And given her nature, then she's more likely on the good side, probably going after Sun Wukong.

Guan Yin, a highly inappropriate choice, and yet for that reason alone it's awesome.
