Wasn't Naotora like 12th place in character popularity in SW4? So.... did her popularity increased or stayed the same?

I think the company has consider her top priority in the SW series.
6th in SW Chronicles 2 poll(tied for 6th with 2-3 others I believe) and 9th in SW4. So she's pretty much cemented herself as one of the more popular characters I'd say.

Seeing as some of the things in Sanadamaru were taken from the taiga drama I'd wait and see what the Naotora one is like to see what could be implemented from there.

I actually forgot Sanadamaru had released in Japan :hehe: so when I do finally get my hands on this I'll have most of the story to play without having seen it before :asia:

Does anyone happen to know if the Biographies are still available to view in the game?

^ I don't see why not, this is part of the SW4 saga so they'll probably just recycle the same biographies that were in SW4, SW4-II & SW4:E.

Does this game still have a western release date? Or is it still only the ambigous 2017?

The ambiguous 2017, however a few times recently Koei have revealed their western releases not long after the date reveal. I can't imagine this coming any later than April, to coincide with Koei's focus on DW9 after 'Musou Stars' releases March in Japan.

Anyone here made a walkthrough yet? I'm jammed up with a side quest with child Yuki, and my Japanese is so rudimentary i cannot figure out what i need to do.

Probably because we've played so many Musou games that we know the gameplay and the story by heart and there's no need to wait one year to play a game that can easily be played with just a few knowledge of japanese and even without this, you can easily manage to play.

Personnally, I speak only a bit of japanese and I enjoy the games a lot so much that I don't understand why people are so scared to import games.

It doesn't take a year for Koei to release games in the West to my knowledge, the longest is usually a 6 month wait. It's not like 'Sanada-Maru' is just a repeat of 'SW4', it's a blatant new tale and to import you're going to run the risk of not knowing what the f**k is going on or what to do next within the game.

Yeah I don't really see the appeal in importing Warriors games. To me, Basara is different because those games will not be localized and they're all about the enjoyable and crazy gameplay.

Warriors games, on the other hand, are usually localized quite soon after the Japanese release and at least for me the main draw of these games is the story & characters. If I don't understand what's going on and what the characters are talking about I don't see much appeal in playing the game.

On another matter, I'm starting to think SW Sanada Maru might be digital-only in the west. Because you know, DW Eiketsuden will be digital-only and DW itself is a slightly bigger name here than SW... and majority of the western people probably don't have even the slightiest clue what Sanada Maru means (makes me look forward to how will they title this game in the west). So with that being said, I'd be really positively surprised if this gets a physical copy release for PS4 in the west.

they can always be stupid and name it SW5, Murikans are lazy when it comes to naming, it happened before, Ken's Rage 2, Tales of Destiny 2(no, not that Tales of Destiny, the other one), and even Dynasty Warriors series itself(causing the west to have 1 more numeric title than the JP version)

Samurai Warriors 4: Yukimura's Crazy Adventure

I'm not even really sure they'll change the name. I feel like it's going to have a niche audience anyways.

Yeah they screwed that up as early as the second game.

They'll probably call this game Samurai Warriors 4-III or something. I'm pretty sure they won't put Yukimura or even Sanada in the title.

DW was also a second game screwup, and so does Ken's Rage

as much as i hate it, 4-III sounds really plausible

and hey, at least it wouldn't sound as stupid as "Berserk and the Band of Hawks" or "Dynasty Warriors Gundam" :haha:

Samurai Warriors: Five Nights at Osaka

Muramatsu serves you hors d'oeuvres, Chacha is in the corner playing with her hair, plotting your demise, you spend half the game wondering how old Kunoichi is, and the other half who the hell Sasuke is. Masayuki stops in every once in a while to see if the kids need anything on his joyride through Japan with Katsuyori while Ieyasu is the guy with the broomstick hitting his ceiling because everyone is making too much noise upstairs

It really annoys me how this game introduces 3 characters (5 if you consider Hidetada and Katsuyori) and we don't even get them as DLC in SW4E. Its as stupid as SW2E coming before SW2XL, the Empires expansions should always have all the characters.

So, still no word on the western release?
All we know at this point is that it's coming to the West in 2017, but we don't know its official title or more specific release date yet.

They can avoid being stupid by simply calling it Samurai Warriors: Sanada's Legend.

Fix'd that for you.

Or maybe they just call it Samurai Warriors 5...

For all we know there's definitely no way they'll call it Samurai Warriors: Sanada Maru.

I can see no reason just Sanadamaru as the subtitle wouldn't work. They used the term in the games before, and that's the name of the fortress. Sure that makes it a harder sale for people who don't know what a Sanadamaru is, but let's be real, this isn't going to be selling to anyone not already interested in Japanese history anyway regardless of title, and at this point in time when Yukimura fever is at an all time high, I can think of few people into Japanese history who wouldn't know of the Sanadamaru or wouldn't be willing to look up what it means.

Maybe "Samurai Warriors: Sanada's fortress"?
That's the one I always thought it would be. Though now thinking maybe a more selling name in "Sanada's Legend" would be a good option for them. I personally would like Sanada-maru but it says nothing to even a semi fan of the series and needless to say any casual gamer would be so clueless. :XD

I only understood what that word meant watching the 1985 NHK drama Sanada Taiheiki, that was of course before there was any SW Sanadamaru ever revealed.
