Yes, it's confirmed to be a new game, it's featured in this week's Dengeki magazine. For PS4, 3 and Vita, will be released this Year.
Sounds and seems like a rushed tie-in game, which means it will likely be dreadful.

Edit: I'm being overly harsh for sure, but Koei hasn't done anything recently to deserve lenience.

Combined topics, they were made at almost exactly the same time :P

Haha, and so the KT vs Capcom continues on eh?

I thought SW4 gave us enough Sanada with their separate story line, so not sure why it warrants a separate game, but that's just me :hehe:

Their flames of war will never last. I love seeing one purposely flaming one another more of these please. :sunday:

Look at it this way - since this game probably will be the ultimate Sanada fest and Masayuki most likely will be added, next games can finally focus on separating Takeda from being Sanada's prologue

Sanada AGAIN! Didn't we see more then enough of them throughout two sengoku series already? Unless daddy Sanada will be the coolest guy alive there's nothing new to be done with it.

Why can't they flesh out bigger fishes like the Mori or something.

At this point, epic DILF Masayuki is the only thing I'd be interested in...SW4 was enough Sanada to last a lifetime. But I'll keep an eye on this anyway

I normally hate the SW vs. SB rhetoric, as prior to this it had zero basis, completely imagined by people who wanted there to be a rivalry between the series that needn't exist.

This though? How ridiculous and petty of Koei, especially given how utterly bland their version of Yukimura is. Then again I hear Sanada-maru is probably one of the worst taiga dramas ever so perhaps it's fitting, lol

Giving this game a pass by default. No way Ranmaru will be in it unless they literally copy Yukiden and I already swore off any SW installment without him playing a story role. I'll stick to SW4, thanks- that was already enough of a Sanada wankfest as-is.
As a side note, if they don't do one for the Naotora drama next year I'm gonna lose it.

That's kind of a problem I'm already seeing too. Yukimura just doesn't has enough personality and charm to carry a game by himself and SW4 already established that adding family members may make him less sympathetic considering his eagerness to die no matter what his bro does to protect him.

Sounds like a disastrous idea. They should have just stuck with Osaka in NA: SOI Risshiden. I think Japan has had enough Sanada dick by now. Omega Force is jumping on the bandwagon way too late. They should be pioneering something new and interesting rather than being droll copycats.

I honestly fail to see how SW4 Yukimura is bland. Unlikable, yes, but not bland
And anime Yukimura is great.

He's reserved(in conversations at least), dresses fairly normally and doesn't really have any big gimmick to make him stand out. I also don't really think he has much more then his ''way of the warrior'' spirit in his personality.

Yukimura just doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles like most Koei characters do.

SW4 Yukimura is hardly calm. He is Leeroy Jenkins. He is unlikable and kinda annoying, but I definitely didn't thought of him as bland in SW4.

I meant in conversations when I wrote that. He's quick to charge in battle but when speaking to people he's hardly the gleeful, boyish, loud and eager guy from Sengoku Basara. Instead he's more reserved, kinda polite and in my eyes a bit dull.

Capcom is gonna sue Koei for this!!!

Let's hope it doesn't look as lazy as the Sengoku Basara game it's trying to copy.
Kinda fail to see how the SB game is lazy. It has 4 new characters, and a bonus mode which we have not gotten since Utage, plus, all of the character are playable.

Yeah, Yukimura isn't interesting.

They could use this to add some more Osaka defenders: Chosokabe Morichika, Goto Matabei, Mori Katsunaga or Kimura Shigenari, seems to be the best opportunity for it, and it could make up for Yukimura blandness.

Goto Matabei has the most potential if you ask me. In the SW verse at least he's Kanbei's adopted son which guarantees him a lot of screentime with an important character and if Kuroda Kagamasa is added their respective Sekigahara path's could create an eastern mirror to the Sanada with each brother, both sons of a strategist patriarch taking a different side.

But both Nagamasa and Matabei fought on the Eastern army. Matabei later changed his loyalties to the Toyotomi for Osaka, which can make for an interesting character beat. The order I mentioned them is also the order of relevancy for the games overall in my opinion (Morishika being the best out of them, and Shigenari the worst).

I know but eventually Matabei chose the Toyotomi. I wouldn't see it past Koei to just make him join a bit earlier at Sekigahara(Like how Takatora joins Ieyasu a loot sooner) and it may work out better that way.
I think it would be interesting if they would both try to fulfill their daddies wishes. Its implied Kanbei isn't all that happy with forsaking the Toyotomi but decides he needs to do it. Nagamasa could follow the path his father does while Matabei could follow the path he thinks his father would want to follow.

I'd call that lazy writing (which means Koei will feel highly tempted if given the chance). I just think it's more interesting to have Matabei decide to join the Toyotomi after Kanbei died, both in memory of his adoptive father's long years of service to Hideyoshi, and because Hideyoshi spared his life in 1580.

This year's Taiga Drama is based around the Siege of Osaka and is called Sanada Maru, this and the SB spin-off are an attempt to cash on the drama.

I loved Yukimura in SW4, I thought they got across his conviction to his cause better than in any of the other games. That said, I still stand by my last post.

Like I said over in the BASARA forums...

I'll just wait and see what happens, here.

If it's something more to the tune of the Shinsoku-Godspeed/Hyper gameplay style from SM4, and doesn't offer anything else unique gameplay-wise?? I probably won't be interested.
