I expect any musou generals related to Sanada to have this aging feature. Heck, I actually expect everyone to have so the battlefield doesn't look like human vs immortals, but since this is Koei, I cut my expectation to 30%.

By saying that, I hope Kunoichi to at least have greying hair too. Because it's going to be fcking awkward to see this mothereffing ninja to serve Shingen when Yukimura was still in his cool daddy's balls until that Yukimura-boy gone old, yet this girl still appear with her smooth baby-butt skin and kiddy high-pitch voice.
you might want to lower down even more, like, less than 1% :doge:

i'm totally down for KunoBabaa tho, a playable granny would be interesting :haha:

I'm calling it now, they'll handwave it with a conversation event at Osaka where Kunoichi mentions she's using some sort of ninja illusion magic to make herself look younger!

Or they'll have Kunoichi no longer be a Takeda ninja and be Yukimura's age. Then, given how young Chunhua for instance looks, they won't need to hand wave at all. That's my guess.
Spoiler: click to toggle

I'd like to see that too Mew, but I don't it'll happen in this game unless the Takeda get a new character. The Takeda will need at least 3 characters for their stages and Kunoichi can easily fit in as one of Shingen's Kunoichi's so they'll likely stick here in there once more.

I really hope I'm wrong and you're right though.

We probably won't see Kunoichi in the Takeda battles here, since it looks like Yukimura is just a kid during that time, which renders Kunoichi a bit unnecessary for that time period. After all, her main role in the story is to be Yukimura's ninja bodyguard in battle.

Note that I'm just assuming kid Yukimura is only for non-battle sequences such as the village or the fishing minigame: we haven't had screenshots of him or kid Nobuyuki being in battles (correct me if I'm wrong), which makes sense because they're too young to fight in war. Plus, they would need new movesets for that anyway.

God, the fishing minigame is just a sorry excuse for KOEI to say they added more content. It's probably going to suck terribly and be extremely tedious and unfun, like fishing minigames tend to be in nearly every game I've ever played.
Sadly, I'm anticipating the same thing. Fishing games usually just consist of spacing out in near silence until the sudden "plunk" jerks you back into reality. Harvest Moon, Pokemon, Animal Crossing... catching different kinds of fish was interesting, but boy was it tedious...

...And yet I still wasted hours upon hours of my life doing it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME
I mean I wasted my time with them too, but they're still terrible and boring. This is true of, like, every game I've played with them. That includes all the ones you mentioned and more (if you've never played the rune factory series I definitely recommend RF3 and RF4).

I love that Basara picture with Matsu and Hideaki locking their fish weapons together. See, that's what makes Basara more entertaining than SW. SW has this dumb crap where you just fish and present your fish as a gift to other people. That's just dull and unfun. They should have just gone completely ridiculous with making you dive into the ocean and hack and slash your way through schools of fish, including some aquatic bosses.

They removed Jiang Wei in DW6 and acted completely like he never existed for the whole DW6 era until Strikeforce 2. I don't think they would have a problem removing teen and adult Yukimura in Empires.

Nah. Most likely they would keep the young one and throw the old one instead.

C'mon. Sima Yi, Sima Shi, Sima Zhao, Chunhua look like nice siblings. They didn't even give a flying fudge, despite of being able to (at least) retexture Sima Yi's hair to gray/white for his Jin chapters and make Chunhua to have slightly wrinkly facial skin to show age gap between her and her adult children.

I really don't want to be THAT guy but does anyone know when/if there's going to be any more information about this game soon? We don't even know what weapon ChaCha has (even though it's looking like her hairpin) and isn't there at least one more new character to come yet?

Beats me about Cha Cha's weapon. I think Koei is going to demonstrate the game during Tokyo Game Show. Pretty much for now, we got none so far.

That's just a cutscene from Basara, not related to gameplay. That kind of humour wouldn't fit well with SW's tone anyway (nor does the fish hack 'n slash thing you described, though it sounds amusing...)

I don't see why people keep complaining about the fishing game here. We don't really know much about it yet. And to assume that it will automatically suck simply because one hasn't liked them in other video games is a bit silly.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to be a whiner, but it's really hard for me not to criticize it. Fishing minigames haven't been the most engaging in my experience, and from what we've seen of this one so far, it fits right in with that. It'd be nice if something they're passing off as a new feature with some importance would have some more substance to it gameplay-wise, y'know? It's just kind of a bummer.

I mean who knows, maybe there's more to it than we know, but I'm not holding my breath...

Also Rance, I need to play RF, it looks really fun

It's just a minigame though. MINIGAME. Other than maybe for extra weapon it is a thing to do other than some hack n slash if youre bored with it.

It's not really super serious criticism. It's probably going to be a superfluous feature in general; you likely won't need to ever bother with it to play through the game.

I just find its inclusion to be pointless. As I said before, I consider it to be "feature padding." A fishing minigame will really add nothing of substance to the overall series; I find it hard to justify its addition except for the sake of KOEI claiming they added something new and innovative (they didn't).

as i mentioned before tho, two basara characters(Toshiie and and Motochika) does have animated fish weapons for you to use in gameplay, and the swimming and fighting fishes undewater is possible in the Monster Hunter 3 games(and only there, the newer numbered titles doesn't have it) which is also made by Capcom

It's not like I'm freaking out about it or anything, I'm just saying that for a "new feature" they're bothering to show off, it looks dull. :XD It's not a big deal, really.

TGS is in like a week and a half, right? I'm interested in what time period within the era the demo is going to be set because if it's set when the Sanada bros are young, and we're playing as Masayuki (which would make the most sense, but may not be the case of course), then we won't see Chacha.

pretty much, Chacha's head had been discussed to the death and there's already enough info about Masayuki and old yukimura that it's not really that fun to discuss anymore, that leaves the day-night system, which is really not that fun to talk about, and fishing.

When I see day-n-night system, I see an ancient clock. When I see an ancient clock, I see time. When I see time, I remember stage time limit. When I think of battle duration linked with time factor, I see little new minor feature. When I see a little new, yet old common feature that take years to hatch in their head, I remember Koei.

So yeah, I'm kinda sure day n night system is linked to battle time. I don't expect much from it.

if it's as EZ as 4-II i doubt people will ever see day turn to night when you can literally wipe the map clean in just 5~10 minutes into the battle

LOL. Well, what I have in mind is either that or the time will roll only after completing specific mission.

Say you finished mission A, the time will advance according to the script.

Or, every mission completion will advance the time and certain time of day will have tactical bonus such as damage x 2, ninja ambush at night, etc.
