ooh, the Taiga costume is actually cooler than both of his default ones and Yukimura's taiga costume maybe they should've aimed for these rather "normal" attires and looks for their default design rather than weird ones like what happened with Kojuuro, just leave the outlandish designs to Basara instead

Way better design with this clothes imo. Samurai armour and Masayuki, I dunno not the best fusion. I see him more as strategist type rather than a warrior. |

That Taiga drama costume does look pretty good. I'd say it's even better than either of his default costumes. |

Neither Musashi or Kojiro were really part of the time period though, I think they should be like those awesome bonus characters you get when you unlock everything else or whatever like Orochi X in WO2, or how Lu Bu was only unlocked in DW3 after beating one story mode from each of the three kingdoms, or in fact just like Musashi himself in SW2 when he was only unlocked after beating every other story mode in the game. That's what I think should happen to Musashi and Kojiro in the future, just make them free mode only characters that are only unlocked after beating every clan story mode; that's basically what Musashi was in SW2 anyway, it gives players an actual reward for going through all of the stories, and allows Koei to make them completely overpowered as characters as they are bonus characters(which they seemed to be trying to do with Musashi in SW2 anyway). Also, what's wrong with Kunoichi's name exactly anyway? People are named after things and things are named after people all the time, what's so strange about the same thing happening to Kunoichi? I mean after all Shingen and Kenshin are both terms that mean 'new sword'(or something similar to that), likewise sakura(which is the name of various anime characters) means cheery blossoms, yet no one ever gives them crap about it, it seems to me that the only reason people are so bothered by her name being Kunoichi is because they're already aware of, and have long been aware of the meaning of Kunoichi as female ninja and thusly have a hard time seeing it as a name. |

I LOVE that design, but I'm not sure we'd see much of Kojiro in this game The more I see of this game though, the more I get the musou bug and desire to play it Even though I skipped 4-II and Empires, this is spaced out enough from SW4 so that I don't feel overwhelmed with SW backlog

The little bits here and there that Musashi and Kojiro do have in the time period really just aren't worth bothering with. You can't have a full story mode of them being just at Osaka and Sekigahara. You could just give them gaiden stages instead though. Also, I love Warhawk's idea of adding both Nagamasa Kuroda and Matabei Goto, I just think that the addition of Nagamasa would probably be better left to a main game. Getting Matabei in now and Nagamasa in SW5 could work? Edited by bluefiend, Sat Sep 17, 2016 10:10 pm.

Was he? I remember reading some sites saying he participated there, but it was unclear on which side. Even KT put him to Toyotomi's side in Osaka campaign in SW2. But he really should be there, regardless of which side he allies with. Same goes for Sekigahara, I don't understand why he wasn't there in SW4. |

Well, after watching live stream with Masayuki and Chacha, I don't think the moveset isn't bad at all, but I'm actually liking it. The only video I have to wait is Sasuke... but his weapon is awesome. |

Shingen I think means solemnity/solemn while Kenshin means modest truth while Kunoichi is literally named after a female character whose role is a female ninja who thus acts as a ninja bodyguard to Yukimura then its contrasting from the examples above. Sakura is often given to girls (ex:Sakura from street fighter) as names but if you try to name a character who is a cherry blossom tree "Sakura" then that's different if you think about it. You are right, one factor is that we are aware of the meaning of Kunoichi and I shudder thinking about it. I also feel that because she is Koei's original character/fictional it would be best to just name her as an actual historical character instead like Chikurinin/Akihime or Anayama Kosuke who is Yukimura's kagemusha, sometimes represented as a female. It's such a waste of character space in my opinion so giving her an actual historical name would be beneficial since no one or not often characters refer to her as Kunoichi in the series anyway. On the topic. I'm still hoping for at least one character to finish everything with a bam, saw the stream as well and like Sun Bai Hu said it looks ok and I think it's fun. |

Good that I am not the only who thinks so. Less fictional characters - better. Yeah, I am pretty sure they can do more with historical characters caz they have already clear background, and you do not need to smash head to figure out how to implement fictional creation into this story. |

This post is going to be very off topic... but this topic itself is going off the rails. Meh... If you can't easily find out how to make fictional characters work in a Sengoku era setting idk what to say. Make a footsoldier that works his way up to being a samurai, for instance. It's the new historical characters that are difficult to work with, as generally the more interesting personages did little of note on the battlefield, or the battles they did participate in are already well-covered by existing characters. So it's hard to justify their inclusion, in either case. I mean you could just add figures with little in the way of persona to them and just have "was in this battle that isn't well covered by people who were actually there", but then you run the risk of making a character that has nothing to do with the historical figure. Regarding Kunoichi's name- it's a bad design choice because it just isn't a name in any tradtional sense. It's a job title. Shingen and Kenshin are not job titles, they're names specifically intended to be names. It'd be like naming a farmer character "Farmer". It's stupid and lazy. Kunoichi deserves better than that- at least give her a new name if she's supposed to be fictional. |

My problem with KOEI's fictional or sub-mythological characters of late is that KOEi has been increasingly moving toward a more historical narrative. SW1 and even SW2 were a lot more goofy in their presentation. Both games had a lot of what if? scenarios and non-historical stages. SW4 seriously plays out like an interactive history book. With that kind of approach, fictional or even less significant historical figures feel wasted. That's also one reason why I preferred SW1 Kuno. She felt a lot more relevant. The same goes for Hanzo or SW2 Kotaro. |

Other than Nene, the ninjas have become less and less relevant. It's a shame because they can find things to do, if Koei would stpp being lazy. And speaking of lazy, please fix Kunoichi's name. She's fine in SW4 when she's not fangirling over Yukimura and I love her intetactions with Kai and Ina. But Koei is showing that they really don't seem to care enough about her to even give the poor girl a name |

Eh, well when you put it like that I guess you do make a lot of sense, naming a character 'warlord' or 'samurai' would be pretty weird. It'd be kind of cool if Sasuke happens to be the only character to know Kunoichi's real name though. As for the ninja's being less relevant discussion...they could always just bring back castle stages. Although really I don't see why they have so much trouble giving them missions where they like poison the enemy food/water supply or cause an ambush in the enemies territory when they're own side is being heavily pressed in order to relieve the pressure. But instead they have this weird of obsession with making every ninja a bodyguard yet never actually giving them any opportunities to defend their masters. |

Yeah, it gives certain mystery to Kunoichi's character if she was hiding her name for a purpose. Who else she could be? I dunno. She does not fit really Matsuhime's image, but Shingen really likes her. In the game he seems to have fatherly feelings to her. Oh wait, this old pervert just likes young kunoichi. Forget about that -___- I know ! She is ... she is... Kosaka Masanobu! |

Nene hasn't gotten less relevant?! I forget she's part of the game most of the time. I'd say Kotaro is the only one they seem to make any effort with and even then his role his diminished a fair bit, the only reason I say this is even though all of the Ninja's have a lessened role at least he's a lingering presence and quite a few missions center around disrupting his plans. Plus he's in a few cutscenes with the Hojo and Hayakawa in both SW4 and 4-II. I can't actually recall any cutscene moments with Kunoichi, Hanzo or Nene and Kotaro was the primary character for a DLC stage in SW4-II. I'd say they are all neglected, but Kotaro is 100% the least. Speaking of Nene, does anyone else think Nenegahara in SW2 was one of the best stages in the series? I hope they will one day remake that It would even more fun now that a lot of generics there have become playable, like Kiyomasa & Masanori.

the most fun stages were always the nonsensical ones, i still love the Curbstomp Fan Castle from DW8 Shu hypo the most out of all DW Fan castle stages, i mean all of China including Zhang Jiao comes out and helps the Guans win the battle, an awesome way to save Guan Yu instead of WO3's "saving dead people/back to the future" scenarios which the turnabout is not as impressive.....

Making Kunoichi Matsuhime requires her to be married to Oda Nobunaga's son, which makes no sense given her character. I'd rather they just add Matsuhime instead. |
