1570, Battle of Anegawa

Growth: Applied
Time Limit: Off
New Officers: Yes (Lildawg and Cai Wenji)
Annex: Ruler (That means take their capital)
Officer Limit: Max
Officer Death: On

Difficulty: Hard

Here we go.

First, Nagamasa and Oichi had extra troops due to exp staying in every game, so I built a quick army to prepare for Anegawa. Me and the Asakura had about a 2000 Soldier advantage, and a good thing about Nagamasa Azai in SW2. He has a really long and quick attack chain. We won at Anegawa despite the casualties sustained.

Soon, I begun to prepare for an invasion of the Oda, but the alliance with the Asakura was chaining me from different negotiation tasks. So I cut ties with the Asakura, but at a cost of very low money. So I planned to ally Shingen to take the Oda on from both sides. This is where I stopped for the night because I was getting tired.

To Be Continued...

I decided to continue this morning.

First off, I decided to take out the Asakura to get a bit more power before I took on the Oda. There was no issue against the Asakura and I defeated them pretty easily.

I was then attacked by the Ashikaga, who was the Shogun at the time. I decided to wipe their armies out at Echizen. We won at Echizen, embarrasing the Shogun in the process.

I decided to move West, but with the Oda in the East, this was impossible. So I decided to get on good terms with them.... FOR NOW....

Kyoto was my first target, so I rebuilt my army. Then got attacked at Echizen again. The Ashikaga was trying to prevent my Westward expansion into Kyoto, but I wasn’t gonna let the Shogun stop me. Their second attack on Echizen wasn’t as strong as the first, because I wrecked their armies so badly last time. So the battle wasn’t too hard, and I won with barely any effort.

With the Ashikaga constantly bashing into me and losing, I realized that fighting them won’t be a challenge and overrunning Kyoto won’t be too hard. Because each time they did attack me...
1. I captured and hired one of their officers.
2. Leveled up my officers.
3. Less troops to fight against.

Even the Uesugi jumped on the “Invade the Azai at Echizen and Lose” train, and it began to weaken them as well. The Uesugi was a little harder, but only because they managed to get Keiji.

Finally, we moved into Kyoto and fought the Ashikaga at Yamashiro. One point, we cut off 4 bases during the battle all at once. Which nuked the morale of the Ashikaga. The Ashikaga were crushed, and took Kyoto.

At this point, the Oda Alliance ended, and they attacked immediately. I couldn’t put it off further. I had to end the Oda. But as soon as I moved my troops to fight the Oda, the Mori advanced on me and I lost even more territory. I had to take out the Oda, and FAST. We met at the Oda Capital, Mino, and a final battle between the Azai and Oda occured. If I lost this battle, The Oda would be unstoppable. With only little issues, the Oda lost at Mino, and in the process, their entire empire.

With the Oda defeated, I had overextended, and needed time to hire new officers. Thankfully, noone attacked me during the time of rebuilding and I managed to get some officers from the Oda Army into mine. When the Mori invaded, Mitsuhide Akechi fought them at Settsu. And.... We lost.... My Mitsuhide wasn’t leveled up enough for hard and I got absolutely wrecked by normal peons.... With a total of 4 KOs.... Great....

So I lost Settsu and Mitsuhide. Shingen saw that I was struggling and allied with me again. He was helpful in keeping Oda at bay for me while I was conquering Kyoto, so I accepted.

I then moved to prepare an entire conquest in the west. There was notably two big powers in the west. The Mori, and the Ryūzōji. The Ryūzōji had less land, but was dominating their enemies that attacked them.

I invaded the Mori in Harima, which if I won, the Mori would get cut in half. The battle went well right off the bat when I got an enemy to defect. The highlight of this battle was me and Hideyoshi duking it out for several minutes. Both of us almost died multiple times, but survived and came back again and again. Eventually, I chased him down and took him out. We eventually won the battle, and successfully cut the Mori’s armies in half.

This is where I stopped for now. I might update this again later.

Time for more SW2 Empires!

First Issue: The Ryūzōji.... Once I defeat the Mori, the Ryūzōji will have to fall soon afterwards. There are also some smaller powers that are gonna eat away at the Mori.

Second Issue: Personell Problem. I need more officers

Third Issue: Tokugawa. I should take them out at some point.

Fourth Issue: Uesugi. They will constantly attack Echizen.

First, I shall deal woth the West before the East. Right after another army gets stomped in Echizen. Another officer defected to me, but Keiji is the commander and I got squashed by him in 4 hits. I didn’t even get a chance to run, just got squashed within 3 seconds. Then they took, not one, not two, but three of my officers... my invincibility in Echizen was crushed....

I was pissed at the Uesugi for embarrasing me in Echizen. So I tried to move to take it back, but the Mori attacked literally the turn after the loss at Echizen. The Battle over Owari occured.

This time, I focused entirely on a defensive battle because my personell issue. So we stayed in one spot while the enemy came. Ekei Ankokuji led the defence and held out as long as possible, but we lost again. Once again, I was put into a difficult situation. Either take out the Mori, or take out the Uesugi. I decided to move out to take out the Mori.

The Azai and Mori met at Aki. I was pissed that I lost two battles in a row, but only because I didn’t have Nagamasa, but this time I did and I wasn’t gonna lose this time. I also brought musketeers. Another enemy defected and Hideyoshi came back. Hideyoshi was just as tough as I remembered, but I still beat him. We then defeated the Mori and wiped them off the map.

With my Western Rival finally gone. I could focus on taking back Echizen, but then Katsuie Shibata Revolted from me. Like I didn’t have enough problems. So I prepared to march my forces to crush Shibata in Omi. This battle was overly easy. One of their officers defected, they were outnumbered, and I had the formation advantage. These guys were crushed easily. Too easily. It didn’t feel like hard mode in this battle. Soon, I allied with everyone around me to give me three years of peace to build up.

One thing I needed to do was upgrade my weaponry. Which I did. I upgraded all of the weapons a level and annulled my alliance with the Uesugi to take back Echizen. I would of invaded literally the turn I annulled it, but a blizzard was happening, so I had to wait a turn.

With Shingen’s support, I marched on Echizen with new weaponry. An enemy defected right off the bat, which was a blow to the Uesugi. I got ripped off and lost my main camp for no reason, while we were winning, and we lost the battle at Echizen. All of that preparation went to waste for litterally no reason, because of no reason...

Then another ally revolted, why? Because the Uesugi is supporting rebellions, if I couldn’t take them out, then I would lose my empire. While preparing... ANOTHER ONE OF MY OFFICERS REVOLTED BECAUSE OF THE UESUGI! This was getting rediculous and I prepared for the long chain of battles, known as the Uesugi campaign. Their capital was in Etchū. If I took that out, I would wipe out the Uesugi, but I needed to blast through Echizen first. This time with the Date, I marched into Echizen. This time, I focused on defending the main camp while letting my allies do the work.

This time, my ally did bring in reinforcements before the battle ended, so more power for me. We won because I lasted long enough for my allies to take the enemy main camp. After years, Echizen returned to Azai control.

I then immediately moved into Etchū. Winning this battle would spell the end for the Uesugi. The battle started horribly, but got better as it went and we eventually won, wiping the Uesugi, and ending the revolts. This doubled my empire size and made me the most powerful empire in the playthrough. However, I had made a ton of allies because of my overextension and I prepared for Operation Island Union, my attempt at uniting the main island.

I then found my two custom characters Cai Wenji, and Lildawg. This was funny because I forgot I added them XD

I moved to take out one of the rebels in Mino... Again... This rebellion was worse than the last one. They didn’t make it past 5000 soldiers. Crushed...

I ended this playthrough here. I will finish it tomorrow.

Sorry about not continuing this playthrough.

Issue 1: 13 officers and 13 territories. Need more Officers.

Issue 2: I need to find a way to train my troops fast.

First off, I decided to work on the personnel issue. So I did some Search-Wide. Then I moved into Tokugawa Territory to take them out before they became a threat.

We clashed at Mikawaz where this was the first time an enemy had more troops than me. This battle was a grind because Niether of our armies had the attack to do much damage.

The battle started going terribly when Tadakatsu and Hanzo wrecked through our bases like butter. Suddenly I saw me and my men in the main camp, fighting for our lives.

In the middle of battle, I suddenly got the tactic Poison Enemy out of nowhere and decided to use it.

After 25 Minutes of fighting we pushed the Tokugawa back to their camp and we won the battle.

Next Target was the Takeda. We planned to Clash in Kai. The plan for this battle was known as the rush and crush plan. Neutral Start, Sky Ninja, and a Speed Formation. The plan was to lock the enemy into as few bases as possible. The plan worked well... We locked the enemy into the castle and they couldn't move because they were surrounded. However, I stupidly ran into a group of archers and lost a ton of health. I had to retreat.

I then surrounded Shingen, was about to win. Then died in 3 seconds because Shingen was apparently a super human and I lost the battle very unfairly.

I was pissed that I lost the battle because I died in 3 seconds. To make it worse... Shingen captured and executed Nagamasa... I chose Oichi to succeed Nagamasa. She had to stand against Shingen without Nagamasa. I managed to get Tadakatsu on my side.

A second battle occurred at Kai. This time, Oichi led the assault since Nagamasa was dead. I lost again... GOD DANG IT SHINGEN! WHY ARE ALL OF YOUR SOLDIERS SUPER HUMAN?! OICHI WAS FULL LEVEL AND I STILL COULDNT BEAT AN ARMY OF PRIVATES!!!

Luckily, Oichi came back alive.

I am gonna end this here. I am getting a bit pissed off at the game and need a break.
