Artis, voted out at the last Tribal Council. Immunity is back up for grabs tonight, and isn't the title of this challenge a brilliant pun? Because tonight we're playing chess. This challenge will be run very similarly to "A Dull Moment", which we played a few days ago. Only one person will be making the official moves for your tribe in this thread, however since it's a logic game, an equal number of players from both tribes may help the movemaker in your challenge discussion forums: 5. So 6 players may be participating from both tribes. Pick those 6 people now and assign roles. If you aren't participating for your tribe please do not say anything at all while the challenge is going on. Here are the pieces. Make sure you are all familiar with this! ![]() Left to Right: King, Queen, Rook, Knight, Bishop, Pawn Making moves: The chess board is labeled on a number and letter axis. When it's your tribe's turn, your movemaker will call the name of the space the piece they'd like to move is on. (Ex. A1) Then say the name of the piece it is they're moving. (Ex. Rook) Then say the space they'd like to move it to (Ex. A2) So it should something like: A1 Rook to A2. Once a move has been called you cannot take it back. Be very careful. You have as much time as you need to make a move, but don't take too long for the sake of moving the challenge along. After a move has been made, give me a minute while I post an updated picture of the chessboard. Do not make your move until AFTER I post the updated chessboard. If I fuck up something call me out on it. This challenge will be played with official tournament rules. Here's a link to those: http://www.fide.com/component/handbook/?id=124&view=article Stalemate: If there's a stalemate we'll move on to a tiebreaker. I'll be flipping a coin again to decide which tribe will be making the first move, we'll get that decided shortly. Any questions? |

Zuvaan, pls turn off your phones before we start: Without the permission of the arbiter a player is forbidden to have a mobile phone or other electronic means of communication in the playing venue, unless they are completely switched off. If any such device produces a sound, the player shall lose the game. The opponent shall win. However, if the opponent cannot win the game by any series of legal moves, his score shall be a draw. |

It took half an hour to play a basic strategy game about dulling flowers. This was a bad idea. Why can't we play Go? |
