Adding youtube videos to posts can sometimes be touch and go. While it might look like there is no easy option for adding videos to a post, it's actually deceptively easy- provided the youtube video is a flash video. So that the tags don't actually activate, I'll be substituting square brackets for braces here. You'll notice that one of the tags you have the option of using is the flash video tag, which can be used one of 2 ways. Firstly, you can click on the flash tag button, which will ask you for the URL, followed by the height and then the width. Alternately, you can manually type in the tag {FLASH=x,y}URL{/FLASH}, where x is the video width and y is the video height. You can either add the actual resolution as the height and width or set the player size to something different. For example, I want to add the following video which is 640x480 to my post and have it appear at its optimal resolution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqiQdw1zmuM . I would enter the following BBCode: {FLASH=640,480}https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqiQdw1zmuM{/FLASH} remembering to substitute the braces for square brackets. The end result is this: Alternatively if I wanted it to appear much smaller, I could enter the BBCode as {FLASH=160,120}https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqiQdw1zmuM{/FLASH} and it would appear as: Hopefully this helps people out when it comes to posting videos in posts. |
