There has been a couple of people asking about the RP surrounding the Pit. I figured I’d give a little ooc explanation on how I’ve been RPing it up to this point. This is my take on the place. It doesn’t actually exist in game but can be used as a point of RP for anyone that wants to connect a character to it. The city is a big place… there would be hundreds of establishments that cater to the public. This would be just one of them. While anyone can come and go as they please, there are certain factors they need to take into consideration if they intend to RP being there. First of all it’s (mainly) an Anarchist stronghold. It’s usually full of Anarchists, Xaosetics and Sensates but the Revolution uses it as a place of carefree relaxation away from the rules and laws of other establishments. It’s generally full of supporters and contacts. It’s deep within the Hive. The surrounding area is nothing more than a maze of alleys and narrow streets. The law does not exist in the area nor does the law patrol this area of the Hive. It’s far too dangerous due to the spider web of dead end routes and three story walls. This is where the Revolution is strongest. If you come looking for trouble you will be attacked from all sides and even above. In order to gain entry, you need to either be known to the doormen or show you aren’t a threat to those inside. This means most anyone can RP as coming and going… but known enemies of the Revolution *will not* make it out alive. Show up and wave a Harmonium or Mercykiller badge? You’re never seen again. The atmosphere is akin to that of a late 1970’s/80’s Punk palace. It is dark and dingy. A large stage covers one end with a dancer’s pole on each end of the stage. A live band usually pounds out more exotic (heavy) music from the lower planes. The lighting is a mixture of colors and strobes (magical orbs) and the walls are covered with anti-establishment posters and slogans. Tables are scattered throughout the main area with booths lining the back walls. A mosh pit sits in front of the stage. There are several emergency exits into the alleys and sewers… they are rarely used but are there to cover the comings and goings of more hunted members of the Revolution. More secluded meeting rooms are available in the back. These are heavily guarded as most Anarchist meetings here take place in these rooms. Feel free to include this in any RP you choose. Up until now I’ve simply used it for my own stories but thought it might be neat for others to use it as well. Should there be intrest for it, we can always create an RP thread for those who want to play a part. |

Great to see RP being pushed, Darkrob. Just humorous to see it happen right after I made the B&J open to all.

Oh I still use that for Bill almost exclusively. The Pit is just an RP "Punk Palace" where the "lost youth" hang out and mosh away from the law. In the B&J I still get harrassed by Hardheads, hehe. Just wanted a place (RP Wise) where Phoenix can be himself without fear of the "Man" waltzing in to bother him

And somehow after reading the first post, I suddenly imagine it being the club scene from the beginning of the movie XXX with Rammstein breathing fire on stage... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ah5KD6evlM |

That's pretty much how I try to envision it. Just a place where the "Revolutionaries"... the young Anarchists, can be free and wild. A place where they can let go, party, hang together... all without fear of the Law. This is "Their" home... their turf... their land. A loud boisterous place where they are not hunted... Lots of noise, fire, partying and music...accompanied by the obligitory sex and drugs of course! That's why I use the Pit in my RP... it just seems so much more "Anarchist" than anywhere else in the game
