Think I might make a thief for this beta. I've tried an Engineer, Elementalist and Mesmer so far and I'd say Engineer is by far my favourite, they're just so incredibly versatile with their kit skills and their damage is just insanely spiky with a lot of good PBAoEs, followed by Mesmer due almost entirely to the coolness of Mantras and floating laser beam greatswords.

Then again, I've heard Necromancers are totes fun and really tanky. There's just so much I wanna' play and not nearly enough time with these beta weekends XD

Well, I stopped at level 33 with my ranger.

(Yeah I went a bit overkill on the leveling, mind you my ranger was already level 24 after last weekend beta and the stress test).

I've tended to diversify. I've got a mesmer, elementalist, engineer, thief and a necromancer, with my highest being 21 and 17.

... I really loved the mechanics of the beta finale event. For those that missed it. A giant freaking dragon of corruption flew overhead in the Plains of Ashford (Char starting area) Evil critters began corrupting waypoints.

Level 80 critters were spawned in. (Yeah, no luck with fighting them.) and any player who died versus these corrupted creatures came back in their army. Making it a world PvP event as well. once the corrupted players starting showing up.

Eventually the bad guys outnumbered the good though, and it started to look like a zombie apocalypse. I took out alot on my lovely necromancer. (Probably the most durable class.) before being overwhelmed by swarms of players and joining the darker side. (Hey, I'm already a necromancer.)

Unfortunately I didn't get much of a chance to play, since I had work this weekend, and twelve hour shifts take a lot out of you.
Too many to list! So here are the ones I play a lot lately.
Barrakasra - Wraith? Bard
Kandra Blackhand - Humanish Monk of the Twin Oaks
Z'ssadra Tharress - Pureblood Green Scholar
Sskrassk - Lizardfolk Fiend Hunter

I oddly managed to survive all the way to the end of that final event. I was playing a shortbow thief so I got a lot of range and just plunked away. The corrupted boss guy started shooting at me as well and I was like, dodge, dodge, evasion skill, dodge XD Finally he switched targets and I was safe :3 !

But yea, totally loved that event. So glad I got up early for it.

I got swamped by a group of eight or so corrupted players when I bit the dust, the boss couldn't touch me either, it's attacks were very telegraphed, but unfortunately the beta ended on Tarnished Coast's overflow before the event reached a conclusion.

I wanted to kill and corrupt people =(

Only played like 2 hours, don't really feel like spoiling the game (and the VERY frequent crashes didn't help :P)

XP still seems a bit low for human area, being 2 levels behind what i was supposed to be having done all hearts and slightly more DE's and all personal story quest up to 2 levels higher then me but still had 2 more levels to catch up before really being able to head to something new.

quick question... is it still getting released on the 26th like some posters and store ads been saying? Because Arenanet came out as well and said it all depends on how the beta goes.

They didn't have much crashing in BWE#1, in the recent one. They had alot more, but beta is beta.

Experience is slow unless you run across constant non-heart events.

I've found that harvesting materials and crafting yields a ton more experience than just combat alone.

I'm a little worried about spoiling the game for myself too, as I've completed four areas entirely, but they will likely add more events, and I'm going to have multiple characters anyway. Some things I'm doomed to repeat anyway. (Namely starting area skill point challanges.)

The game's release though, "Rumored for June 28th" I highly doubt, it started because of an advertisement in Fry's Electronics in Texas. (and I live in Texas, we're all idiots.) and 'rumored' to come from an NCsoft employee. (Not ArenaNet)

June 28th was supposed to be BWE#3 , As they delayed the most recent beta weekend due to changes.

Usually online games go through the Closed Beta (Where the game is currently) then Open Beta/Stress test for the Public. Then release. They haven't even allowed the pre-purchased closed beta people to try two of the races and their starting areas. So yeah, Lots of work ahead of them.

I doubt they would be foolish enough to release the game before a free-open beta stress test to see just how many people want to try their product, before actually buying it. They need that stress test in order to survive launch.

My best guess would them aiming for - at the latest - for the November Rush.
