Okay so as people might have noticed ive not updated certain posts, or been entirley active latley, thats for two important reasons:

Reason One: My book

Im still writing my book in small chunks but since this year was about self improovement ive finally started to muse on actually trying to put a little bit more effort into it and push it for a release, when I cannot say, but it wont be this year.

Reason Two: My friend

My companion from far away is comming to stay with me from Saturday next week untill the following Sunday, as a result im making prepairationss for the week and two day length visit meaning dont expect to see me as frequently on Sigil for the time being.

To clairify the when my friend is comming over, it wont be this saturday the 21st it will be the "next" Saturday.

So as to what else could he be away for you ask?

Well Friday to sunday is Gw2 final beta so theres no way im missing that either, and after that ill have some time to spair for NWN2 before the Saturday so ill be free next Monday till next Friday.

Till then -Hugs- Sorry for not finishing things "right" now, later, I will have the time, right now? No.

On a final note:

Half way through The Great Hunt (Thanks for the recommendation Cere) Just bought books 4-5-6 of the wheel of time and im lovin' it, really good series for anyone looking for fantasy inspiration and roleplaying ideas in general.

Kudos to our local squid for her contribution.

so guess the conquest of brux is halted into an epic suspence just at the beginning of the real battle for some time... :P
Maewind:''That's still plant-hating! That makes you a plant racist!''

Lucelle Vand'hovar: ''Miss Maewind, i assure you, the plants started this conflict.''

Nienna: ''Razorvine is hardly a plant, in her defense.''

Im kinda back and im kinda not.

I will be honest, latley my life is a jumble of high expectations, with people expecting roleplaying events, with people expecting me to roleplay on other games or over msn in private roleplays.

With the fact my friend is comming next saturday, my sister is now on school holidays for her last year before next year she will be in final year in highschool and likley go to collage.

Argh terrible english, doesnt help im not feeling great latley. Ive come under a heavy intoxication of Hayfever, been taking piriteze to help.

Made the mistake of taking 2 tablets one day instead of one, suffered for it the day after, oh god why.

Kill me now.

Long story short, if I dont do things quickly its because ive got alot on my shoudlers already. I take things a step at a time just to make it clear to people that when I promise to do something I will do it.

Just... give me time, and a moment to breath.

Combined with the fact I actually want to finish my first novel its alot of pressure already.

I still love you all though, even if you make me ill loving you all.

Now I know how Ilmateri feel -coughs, wheezes, dies-

Just curious what kind of novel. Depending on type might be interested in ordering a copy.

And I know how writing is. I've been trying to start up again. Thinking of an urban fantasy series. No not twilight style. More along the lines of Buffy the Vampire slayer. Going for a good over the top feel to things. Either that or I just continue where I left off on a 20 minutes into the future Sci-fi epic influenced by Gundam/Code Geass.

((For those interested in giving input, I do have a few rough sample chapters, links at the bottom))

RoTG: Sample Chapter

Character names and such are not set in stone. And I might remove the music part of the chapter. The Structure itself is similar to ASoIaF in that there will be a bunch of Point of view characters, and I am not scared of killing any off.
Characters
-Moriarcis: Lvl 20 Necromancer
-Ordethus: Lvl 20 (21) Telepath Warlock/Alienist
-Orionis: Lvl 8 Dirge of Tiamat
-Zaed Nahalis: Lvl 28 Hextorite Blademaster
-Skor Addamar: Lvl 22 Ex-Collector
-Ven: Lvl 9 (10) Old School Assassin
-Vai'aian: Lvl 18 (20) Zerth Monk

Id best describe my setting as: LOTResque with Wheel of Time and Warhammer, though these werent inspirations, I admittingly found it rather coincidence that Wheel of Time particularly has alot of elements similar to my own book, though there are alot of seperate things too.

It might not be for you if your looking for something more like a song of fire and ice, its not dark enough for that kind of atmosphere, but it is certainly dark at times, very dark and very very unfair.

Realizing that the early WoT books are over twenty years old now, it's not surprising that a lot of the concepts which were new and groundbreaking at the time have instead found themselves becoming rather commonplace.

Much like how you can see distinct links to Tolkien, Lieber, and Moorcock in much of the fantasy of the late 70s and early 80s, quite a few authors now owe more than a bit of their writing style to to the likes of Jordan and Martin. It happens, and many of them distinctly know they're doing it; Steven Erikson, for instance, has many times referred to how much influence Glen Cook's Black Company series had on his own work, while there can be no dobut that Joe Abercrombie's writing has more than a hint of David Gemmell in it.

Indeed is quite correct. Its the thing about art, oftentimes you will take on aspects your favorite writer/painter/musicians style.
