I recently made an Ogrillon character which I've been really enjoying. However, when leveling I realized there was no level adjustment for my character. When I was level one, I noticed that it would only take 1000 EXP to reach level two. While I really like the faster leveling, I don't want to cheat my fellow players and figured I'd bring this to ya'll's attention. Thanks for your time

Level adjustment isn't calculated here like it is normally in NWN2. Basically, instead of needing more XP to get to the next level, you simply gain the amount of XP a character of your ECL would. For example, when I first started, I made two characters: First, a svirfneblin, and second a halfling. My level 1 svirfneblin was very difficult to level because goblins were only giving her about... 20-something or 30-something XP a kill. When I switched over to my halfling, I was getting over 100 XP a kill from the same monsters. This is because my svirfneblin was technically ECL 4, and my halfling was only ECL 1. The difference was drastic, and even impacted how vicious the monsters were that would spawn. So, don't worry. Your Level Adjustment is there, and you'll never be able to hit level 30, only ECL 30. Keep that in mind and know this is where the balance is struck. |
