TLDR: The entire server is currently set like the OOC room, it's impossible to flip hostile/defensive or hit allies with offensive targeted spells.

No biggie I suppose but kinda weird.

Actually not Party-PvP but rather No PvP, and only Sigil Main.

*Edit* The difference with the two mainly is that No PvP is absolutely no PvP, infact you'd have to be in party to damage others with spells. Party PvP is quite the opposite, you couldn't hurt those in party but should still be able to hurt everyone else.

Yes.

We discussed a couple things via DM boards one of which lead us to make a consideration of implementing No PvP rules to the main Sigil area, especially with the number of quite, lets say toxic PvP encounters that has happened there as well as general convenient ignoring of Indep security and/or Harmonium in the area. Of course ideally it wouldn't affect the 'entire' area, as there's many portions where it would be fine, but the area properties doesn't quite allow such fine tuning.

Now I understand it's also acquired taste and preference, but we felt it's a worthy measure for proper testing. This way roleplaying combat still is quite possible in the area, but random ganking a fellow is not. Outside the area the rules work normally of course meaning it is possible to get far more mechanically hostile as well. So hopefully assassination and grudge matches take a more clever approach than blow up the bar umpteenth time.

Okay, just caught me off-guard when coming out, figured it was a server wide flip.

While I'm not sure if it'll stop people from throwing around massive spells (and it's a bit blunt), anything is worth a shot after the last few weeks. I appreciate that the staff is taking proactive steps to deal with these problems.

EDIT: OH MY GOD! I LOVE IT! No longer will I attack people by accident instead of bartering. This is the best change for merchants ever. :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub:
