Since I've been frequently asked lately about matters of bartering (mostly about enchanting-side) between own characters, I figured it's faster to just make an announcement about it...

First and foremost you should consider that meeting other players characters IS in your best interest. Meeting other players and their characters in a roleplaying multiplayer environment is exactly what you wish to achieve or hope to do, and necessity if nothing is the best prime motivation to do it. Limiting yourself down to two of the following scenarios will hamper your ability to roleplay or establish your character to other players:

- Making deals with your well established character to other players to get easy time to your new character.
- Circulating trinkets of your one character to another character over and over and over again.

These are inevitably motivation and depth killers of new character(s). If you already have everything, why play a game where large portion is the progress and the other characters?

If this hasn't moved your resolve since you're at the thoughtline of "There's not enchanters around to supply to me, so I absolutely have to do this.", first take a step back and ask yourself if you've made a genuine effort to get supplied either by other players merchants and/or enchanters or have somewhat given it haphazard effort then instead of taking the lazy way out, give it a genuine effort and remember a new character is not supposed to have the final items, just decent enough to manage through the areas of their level... if it does not bring fruit finally move to the next step.

To emphasize our disinterest to support this course of action, yet acknowledge that it is, at the time of posting this, a shade of gray when it comes to rules. Hence I'll make it in bland white color which you can select to read.

First question tends to be: What is a fair price to pay for one character to another?

First of all; is it fair at any point if thinking from an objective level? Your characters are getting the benefit regardless, technically speaking you as a player lose nothing. You just are transferring items from one of your character to another... not to mention you're not providing same service for other players, only your own.

Besides technicalities however... your standard prices. You're representing a character and in this scenario your characters absolutely NEVER should know each other. I repeat NEVER EVER should know each other. You're selling with prices you'd sell to stranger that you have absolutely no emotional investment... if you have trouble considering, look at players list, pick a gamespy account and character you don't know... think for how much you'd be selling th(at/ose) item(s) for them... there's your price.

Second then usually is: What kind of avenues of transferring the item are there

In the order of preference:
Create a number of items along the items you've designed to your own. Pick a PC merchant and sell them in a batch to them... now they'll give you fair pricing and distribution. Get your other character and go buy them, if you're quick enough and they've been unappealing enough for others, you'll still have a chance at them. You can also use NPC for these, but likely you'll never have enough money unless you're rich in which case you likely became rich for the reason of not using NPC merchants to begin with. Now you might wonder why other items? Why not? You'll be more fair that way since you not only provide services for your own character, but everyone around you... that is fair.

Get someone else to act as a mail man between the two... boring, dull, the least costly, most reliable and probably something most will go for since I'm a realist. =P
