So, you may have noticed a distinct lack of Powderhorn in your life of late, and, some of it I expected, a lot of it I have not. I was originally working a weekend long music (drug) festival doing EMS, and I was supposed to do the overnights, 6P - 6A. Well, after the first shift, I was looking for my relief, and lo and behold, there WAS none. I offered to work the whole weekend straight through. 60 hours and countless overdoses later (with 4 hours worth of naps in between) I finished up smelling about as good as the attendees themselves did. Then of course there's standard life during the week, which was expected!

Unfortunately, my primary hard drive failing was not. I'm running on a shoe-string HDD from 7 years ago or so for now, until that one get's exchanged via RMA. And today, driving back home, I seem to have suffered a critical failure on my jeep (again) and something seems to have either seized or simply spited myself, as I had the steam coming out of the radiator (don't seem to have actually split the block, hurrah!) and my coolant literally boiling. (And a raging boil at that!) So that's going to tie up even more time. And of course, this coming weekend I'm doing more EMS, and some friends of mine want to take me out to a Ren Fair before I move to Kentucky, so I'll be gone all this weekend too!

Maybe, just maybe, you'll see me kicking around next week ;)
You would think rooting for Darwin in EMS would be tricky.

HD failures are a pain in the butt. The jeep thing I don't pretend to understand as well but not having transport is no good either. *hugs*
Player of:
Auric Tenebrason - Yuan-Ti finding himself
Cael O'Malley - A warrior who's heard many myths...and now finds himself in one.
Donovan SeYara - A man in pink.
Kadosh Purifico - Grinning Sinker.

Verdant Waves - A Godsman man of faith.
And a few more that won't fit...yeah I'm an altoholic.

So, just to give an update:

The jeep has been sold to a friend of mine (more power to him, he knows what he's getting into with it), my ride time up in Amsterdam is finished, I put a down payment down on an '02 Eclipse (I'm going to get a few tickets in that one, I'm sure) of $500, the lady selling it lost the title, so she'll get the other $2000 when she gets a new title from the DMV in 5 - 7 business days, and even my usual summer load is thinning out, as the last class I need for my associates finishes up Thursday. Then I have my practical skills exam and my written exam over the next couple weeks, but, things seem to be in a fairly stable pattern! (Though a second of my four drives has crashed.)

It lives! My desktop, anyway, or at least is doing a very good job of pretending to.

So... I was just about to give up on all the hard drives, rip them out, and throw in a new one. Being too lazy to take them all out through the main enclosure (which would have necessitated removing video cards as well) I decided to try to take them out through the front. Lo and behold, there were a pair of fans there I had entirely forgotten about. (These hard drives have been in this case since I bought it years back, the SSD I threw in a while ago I just kinda laid in there out of the way...) Anyway, there were a pair of filters over the fans that were so clogged with misc. grime that no air could circulate. Took the filters out, washed them, put them back in, reinstalled windows without a hitch, and now, here I am.

I feel kinda silly.
