So, in case you haven't heard of Beyond Two Souls, you should have!

It's almost more of an interactive movie than a game, and while the controller takes a little getting used to, it's worth the effort because the story is pretty amazing. It's also the most visually impressive game I've ever played. Prior to playing it, I think I would have said that I was beyond being impressed by graphics, but there are a couple of scenes that just completely blew me away.

Anyway, no spoilers, but if you like an immersive ghost story with characters you really care about, check this game out.

With that I also want to put out The Wolf Among Us. Though just the first episode is out, I quite enjoyed that experience. It's another interactive narrative rather than actual game. But I'll also give thumbs up to Beyond Two Souls, that one was cool too.

I've tried the "interactive story/not like a game" thing before with Heavy Rain. Although it was a neat story with exceptional graphics, plot, acting and interaction, I was bored to tears. Having to do the most mundane thing (changing diapers, wrapping wounds, feeding the damn kids...) it was just too much. If I want to watch a movie... I'll watch a movie. Having to watch the screen for the icon to hit the circle, or move to the left or hit the X... right at the right moment... it was too close to being an advanced version of Dragons lair.

I'll wait for the inevitable movies to come out :)

I don't even own a console, so I'll definitely skip it without too much bother. And I've gotten so used to my 1440p monitor that 1080p games just don't look so good anymore. I've learned my lesson too many times on buying a console or handheld for one game only to be frustrated by it and never play it again, going back to the good ol' mouse and keyboard.

For an entirely story based game you can't go wrong with the Stanley Parable, which just came out today. Hilarious game if you just ignore the narrator and do the opposite of what he says.
Too many to list! So here are the ones I play a lot lately.
Barrakasra - Wraith? Bard
Kandra Blackhand - Humanish Monk of the Twin Oaks
Z'ssadra Tharress - Pureblood Green Scholar
Sskrassk - Lizardfolk Fiend Hunter

I felt the same way about Heavy Rain.

This is much better.

I saw the trailer for Beyond Two Souls, and it hit the uncanny valley hard for me... don't think I'd be able to play it without getting creeped out

Asura's Wrath.

If you can tolerate Capcom and their terrible DLC practices.

Yeah. Don't forget to purchase the DLC that allows you to see the ending of the game. ::troll::

Sorta illustrates my point about terrible DLC practices. But yes, that.

Fool me twice, David Cage.

You know, I really liked Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit). It was an interesting story that hooked you in for a while until you get to THAT ONE PART of the game and it gets really stupid really fast. Heavy Rain has a somewhat similar problem, except THAT ONE PART is the entire game. Guess it gets a plus for being one of the most unintentionally hilarious games out there though. I'd love to give Beyond Two Souls a fair shake, but from what I've already heard about it (and my experiences with the last two games) it's just going to be more of the same thing.

Characters:
*Narissa V'xtre (Tiefling Mage and Leader of "The S'jet Organisation)
*Bael'phegora(Sabel) (Seer of the Blooded Lotus)
*Kira (Fiendish Dark Elf / Astral traveler)
*Naomi Auroras(Human Holy Warrior)

Perhaps you were expecting some surprise, for me to reveal a secret that had eluded you, something that would change your perspective of events, shatter you to your core. There is no great revelation, no great secret. There is only you.
